@BTM_Pix mad genius!!! amazin!!!

@Django so true. im a big x-files fan, and the show looks freakin awesome in HD, i LOVE the color, everything, but a lot of the establishing shots are in crap-o-vision, and its really jarring~! like yes, its that bad lol found this on reddit
-
ive been looking at some eos r 1080p, its really nice. how do you like it?
-
whatever your hurdles are to overcome, it might be bad, heck it might be AWFUL (i kno), but it could still probably be worse why dont you be inspired by chuck close? chuck close is an american painter in his early career, he painted hyperrealistic portraits that looked like photos unfortunately, Although the paralysis restricted his ability to paint as meticulously as before, Close had discovered a new, and i think, better way to paint than before. his newer pieces are more interesting, and serve to cement his importance in art history so, the moral of this story is be glad you're not in a wheelchair

if youre trying to do a comparison thats even in the realm of objectivity, take what you think is a high quality 4k clip, render it out at 1080p, and watch both. compare. easy this video is wildly subjective, it makes its point, but... cmon
-
im aware of that, it was a gross generalization about "seeing a difference'
-
edit: the difference between 4k and 1080p on youtube on my 1080p TV is huge. of course i notice it! that being said, you need to have an objective idea of the resolving power of a grid of pixels... whether its 2k, 4k, whatever, theres a high end limit to the detail in an image at a given resolution, and MOST cameras dont approach that in any mode whatsoever, so its kind of an abstract comparison ? an analogy: my 5d3 shoots ~soft~ stills, to me. pleasantly soft, dreamy stills at 22 megapixels, compared to the *actual resolving power* of that 5760x3840 grid, right? other manufacturers have razor sharp images at 100%, in comparison, at the same spatial resolution. thats a matter of taste, but to think that 22 megapixels = my camera is of course retarded

that was a huge revelation after making my short in 1080p: i wish id shot a bunch of it just a little wider, and then cropped in during post. even if the extra pixels just go to straightening out a horizon line, it wouldve been super useful to have that which is huge, bc several shots that i stabilized in post were ones that i didnt plan on stabilizing at all. 4ks great for adding camera movement, as well. lots of post stuff but this is my take for something thats grading/vfx heavy, so if you have a fast turnaround its a whole different story
-
yeah, web, i think thats just a gimmick... does anyone remember any of the first "SHOT ON iPHONE!!!" content...? its like street art, theres a 3 second attention span for that stuff lol Steven Soderberghs the kinda guy who shoots a sasha grey film with an iphone and goes "OOo Im so edgy and keeewl yeah yeeeahhh" lmaoo
-
i have an upcoming vfx rich scene im figuring out, like just ~how~ to shoot it in the first place, and im watching some tutorials......
-
well, objectively, i looked at the shots and i never would have released it for broadcast like that, regardless of my personal taste, or what you might see in perfectly controlled conditions – its just too flat additionally, regardless of my personal opinion, the DP's, director's or anyone else's, PEOPLE CLEARLY HATED IT. THATS NOT DEBATABLE so thats a problem lol
-
all the good ones~!
-
well that sounds awful lol its also funny that the DP blamed it on ppl who cant "tune their tvs" among other things, yet here you guys are complaining about it, and youre tv tuning experts ?
