I did not say there are worse than Canon. I stated that its a Canon like decision to omit features from cameras. I'm not a Canon / Nikon shooter, but I assume their top line cameras the 1dxii and the d5 have customisable profiles?

Not bashing Sony. Just think they should live up to the expectations that they have set. I switched to Sony because of the innovation and the ridiculous amount of features they jam into a body. We live with the quarks because of this. But now, they are leaving good features on the table.

Why not include something that it almost every camera they make? At first I thought how Canon. Then I thought this is worse. Canon cripple lower level cameras by leaving features out. Sony's self claimed first truly "pro" camera, leaves useful features out that are found in lower level cameras. Wtf? The cannibalizes other models theory is the only one that makes sense.

I wish they had released all 3 models at the same time. A little sick of playing the guessing game.

The ports on the side of a9 (flash/Ethernet ports) are interesting. Quite a lot of space there but both not needed on a video optimized camera. Wonder what they could put there instead?

I don't think Sony can use that as a reason. Just cause all the options are there does not mean you need to use them. Would be nice to have them. Since I set up my a7sii with eoshd profile I have not touched log. Footage straight out is normally good enough for most applications and quick turnaround for my needs. All reports so far is that it seems to be improved video. Better rolling shutter, battery etc. the only reason I could see to omit the pic profiles is to protect or force us to have different Sony cameras for different applications. If it had them I would only need the a9 for what I do instead of a7sii and a6300. Just have to wait it out and see what else comes out over the next few months.

Sheeeeeit - Just saw the Australian pricing. $6799. You can pick you a7rii here new for about $3600. Hate to see the price of a9r or a9s here! If they make them it will have to as good if not better than an fs5 as the price wont be much different.

It's like they combined a7sii and a6300 with better battery and 20fps. Better focus. Price wise for a little more than a7sii/a6300 cameras. I use a7sii for video work and 6300 for photos. This does both. Well almost. Pity about the picture profiles. sony are pushing HDR tv's. let's see what NAB brings.

I had the Moza lite. I pre ordered it and it was really bad. So bad that I would never buy from them again. The Crane has the runs on the board.

HA-HA! rectalinear. It has a built in ND filter on the rear of the lens. But from the sample shots i have seen the ND has a brown tinge to it.

I have a feeling that the next osmo is going to be insane. Rumours are that it could be released mid next month. Since the drone is doing some of the image processing and not the camera I think there will be a new handle. And as stated above it's a different mount. 'I really enjoy the x3 osmo but it's image it's not great. Between DJI and Sony camera tech is really being pushed at a rapid rate. Although this hurts my wallet I'm very excited and have started building a war chest just in case.

$2700 in Australia. I owend the em5 ii and was considering this as i still have a few m/43 lens around. Just to overpriced for what i would use it for.

Im slightly pissed off that this has come out so quickly. I think the a6300 was due out this time last year and was delayed possibly due to being a personal heater. I use my a6300 mostly for photos these days or b-cam. Main camera is a7sii which i love shooting on. More dials, less fiddling around. I wont be rushing out to buy the 6500 but i'm very much looking forward to these features in a A7riii a7siii or maybe even the rumoured a9 emount.
