If you go a little bit further you are reaching documentary territory! I never watch travel videos, they are empty to me, this one has content and very clever ideas to communicate a message or ones truth. Maybe a bit less impressive than other postcard travel videos, but more diachronic. John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word" I will be looking for your videos a lot more now to see the evolution of your style.

I am a pro sound man of 20 years and I didn't call anyone stupid. 200€ in sound is the lowest of the low and the expectations are low too. I own 5 Samyang lenses for my lesser projects, but when we shoot better ones we rent. I do not expect my Samyangs to be Cooke quality and I do not complain that they aren't. I just bought a Sachtler Flowtech with an FSB for my small cameras, I also own Manfrotto and Benro tripods, guess which one is better and why I had to spend 4 and 5 and 6 times more money.

Sloogan Floogan is a great character. Wish they have more in the making, but this one is ace!

Impressive results. I was set for the 4K as the convenience of the mount is perfect for me but now I paused my order again. The P4K seems like the small sensored camera it is now! There is always the argument that you gain the stop you loose from a Speedbooster of course, but still..

I have to admit that I am not familiar of the work of the man, but there is a tendency to exaggerate the abilities of people on youtube, while dozens of thousands of professionals possess a lot more knowledge. It used to be "if there is on tv.." now it is "if there is on youtube.." I do not use any social media so I wasn't aware, but I know now, I agree, and I apologize for bringing it in. I told you, it was a very hard working week, and the previous one was also, and the next one will be! Some of the reasons I am going to invest on the P4K are your great ideas, constructions and software. You are making the Pocket cameras a lot more user friendly, which aren't very much. I still can't find the 6K more appealing than the 4K though..!!

What stuff?! Tell us! Everyone's is a filmaker on youtube..these youtube celebrities wouldn't last a week on a real job. I just finished a 70 hours working week..

That may be the case in some European countries as well. I am being careful with those because the fines can be devastating here.

Wow! That was really fast, especially for SoundDevices. What are the differences from the previous generation? Pricing?

Canon was number 1 for so long that stayed idle for too long. Sony believes that they are cruising to the number 1 spot anyway (and they control the camera sensor market). It takes 1 major player (Samsung, Panasonic, Fuji, China, India, Israel, someone else?) to invest on sensors technology and production to sink both of them. "And you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'"

In Europe usually you have to take out lenses and camera bodies. It has happened a lot to me lately. @Sparky I did a similar search not very long ago. I finally went for the Protactic because I had the impression that it would be fit for international travel. I have only traveled locally since then, and the local airlines are somehow loose on regulations, especially when you do "TV jobs" but I see it fit for most airlines. Chech beforehand with low cost ones, or take out the biggest lens before check in and put it back in after. What I do not like in this bag is that it can easily be scratched (you have to face it down to open it), maybe the similar Tenba has better material.

I see some Canon fanatics here are already selling their FS5/FS7 cameras for this one. It will be a huge Canon success.

Canon rush to reassure investors as camera profits plunge 64%

@PolarStarArts the A7ii is not a good camera, you should look for an A7iii that is both cheap and capable. -
Canon removing 24p from new 4K mirrorless cameras - THE MEMES
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yep, but not a lot will invest 5 - 8.000€ for a vacation camera. Also, for a vacation camera my NX500+16-50 PZ+30/2f pancake + 10mm fisheye pancake is absolutely perfect for a fraction of the cost while SOOC is just brilliant, and an a6400 with the 18-105 4f is 90% sufficient for people that need a dedicated hybrid for their holidays (which isn't a huge percentage of the total demographic anyway). The game is at the top; prosumers and professionals will spend a lot of money for their system, and as you said, after defending Canon for a couple of years, you "had" to go Sony.. -
I believe this is a must watch, and why I consider skipping the 6K Canon APS-C altogether. One big plus of this camera must be the full sensored FullHD ability though.

There are such cameras. Sony sells officially most of the a5xxx and a6xxx series cameras (older A7 series cameras also). There was an offer for an a5xxx camera/2 lenses/a bag and a card for 380-480€ recently on a main chain here. There are similar offers for older a6xxx cameras for 100€ more. Sony is very clever. They are offering too many similar cameras with small price increases, so it is almost impossible to loose a target group price-wise. As of late, they are a bit lazy on new camera releases. They have started acting like market leaders (Canon) do and that may hurt them really soon. A7iii was a huge release, but there are many new products in the market since then and it is not the no brainer it was upon release. They definitely need 2 different body designs for the a6xxx and A7 series. They fix a little something every year, but they still have the worst ergonomics in their respected classes. They certainly seem to be left behind in video features and video IQ also. They have to take some very hard decisions the next couple of years because their competitors are very aggressive (except Canon!).

Greece vs Serbia 31-23.basketball.friendly. Antetonkoumpo NBA MVP for 2018-19! That's what I listen to the car! Rolling shutter and color is almost the same. Do not think anyone would ever notice.

Very interesting stuff here https://www.slashcam.de/artikel/Test/Blackmagic-Pocket-Cinema-6K---Mehr-Pixel--weniger-Cinema---Stromversorgung---Gedanken--Marktstellung-und-Fazit.html#Gedan This is the conclusion google translated. "However, the biggest competition is the older Pocket 4K.Because this remains in our eyes the much better offer. At almost half the price, this offers hardly any disadvantages except for the lower resolution. The slightly smaller sensor width (19 vs. 23mm) is not so seriously felt in practice and the achievable dynamics are similar. The Pocket 4K can also be used with many Focal Reducers like the Viltrox-EF-M2 with full S35-aesthetics. And even with a far better "crop factor" of about 1.35. The EF-Mount does not allow such hacks, or only for much more money . Last but not least, even 4K resolutions for real "cinema" applications are usually much sharper than desired." I read also that they test-proved that both the Sony Venice and the BMPCC 6k can produce a perfect de-mosaiced 4k-DCI (rgb) output. Pretty spectacular for a 2495$ camera!

RED respond to Apple in compressed RAW patent battle
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Oh! Ok, my bad! From what I have seen Braw is good enough for everything though and the starting price of 1295$ is ridiculous anyway. 3 years ago you needed more money to buy a GH4! Braw is license free also (I think), and Cineform went open source a few years ago. There is also the Ursa series, imagine what we'll be getting for 5495$ soon.. What it is that we are missing now for low budget productions? If you are shooting a big production (1.000.000$€£ and upwards) would you be using a P4K and Braw (you could, but you would?!)? I do not know. All seem relative. I believe that before, companies just didn't care. Sony wanted to sell you the extra raw software and/or hardware update, and no way we were having raw on a 6xxxx camera! Canon sells an 8bit 420 camera, plus Raw-light, for 5-6 times the P4K. It is all relative. Now, it seems that Apple wants to change the game. It probably will. Video is the big thing now, and the next step is some kind of raw. It is happening and it is already here. -

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

..and I forgot the Birders and sports people that need their crop sensors too. Seems like a popular segment for Canonikon cameras. The scetches doesn't look half bad either!
