Yeah, I know, I am using Premiere since the SCSI era and windows since DOS 3.0 having a degree in multimedia computing and programming (another one in sound engineering and a BA Hons in Film and Video). So if you are using it on 150%, don't you have it 50% more than the original 100%? And what if I want it differently on different occassions or even different sites? Just stay with your workflow, I will stay with mine..

This is exactly what scaling is, a digital magnifying glass. You practically "zoom in" because the monitor is too small for its resolution and you can't see a thing..how are you getting the "full benefit" when you have to zoom in and out accordingly? Even in my 27" 1440 monitors I "zoom in" daily, I tried 27" 4K before and it was a nightmare, I had to re-adjust constantly. Anyways, as I said is a personal choice and preference. I just wanted to make clear to people that have never worked with a 4K 27" monitor that it is not just a 27" monitor - that can afford - with bonus the 4K resolution. It can affect their workflow greatly. Mine right now is 2 X 27" 1440 monitors, a 43" TV and an 55" OLED (just for reference of the exported product) and I will add an 4K 31+ inches soon.

I rather use the resolution I have. It is a personal opinion, and for me is a no-go. 1440 for 27" (even the Dell 25" 1440 was really uncomfortable for me), 4K for 31+ inches.

Shocking how bad the DJI mics are, even more shocking the external one that should improve the sound and in my opinion (20 years of pro sound) it doesn't, just changes it but doesn't make it particular good. Saramonic is much better, I would choose it for scratch sound but for anything serious I would be looking for a much better solution. Maybe a Rode Go or the new cheap Sennheiser wireless for voice recording, or an external solution (DR-60/DR100mkii or iii with a real microphone) for anything/everything else. The Saramonic with the Go could be sufficient for a v-logger/serious amateur/good family videos.

"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, and obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board." —Henry David Thoreau, Walden (1854) One of the biggest influences in my life.

https://www.gothamsound.com/product/dv-sqn2s-power-adaptor Much more professional than a Talentcell and a lot more options. I am having a set of Eneloop white for backup and use various NPF batteries. A big one is enough for a whole day.

Even on my 27" 1440 monitors I zoom in on occasion! Seriously people, try the 4K resolution on a 27" before you buy. Usually these are gaming monitors, for the best of the best of GPU's (4 digit prices) which is great, but try using Premiere/Resolve on these and it can drive you mad! The opposite is true also, a 27" 1080 monitor is not worth it at all. Also, good for gamers because they can have no lag and too much frames for lesser GPU's. Anyways, it is your choice. I wanted another 27" 18 months ago and after a lot of research I got another 1440 but with USB C and all the connections as a hub, waiting for 4K tech to catch up. Now I am going 31-34" for a 4K one, throwing out my old PLS one (amazing Samsung panel, by the way) and keeping the newer 27" as a hub and whatnot. Checking this one also, maybe out of my price range and weird-everything. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/34wk95u-w

TN and VA are automatically excluded from our search. IPS glow and backlight bleed has to be judged per monitor, and not per model. Even similar serial numbers can be totally different in performance. Are you sure you want 4K resolution on a 27" screen? Have you ever worked with such a configuration? For me the 27" monitors max at 1440. LG and Philips are doing great the last few years.

I am in the market for a similar one, but for 999$. I thought I was set for an LG 32UD99, but I am looking for something bit better and not that much more expensive. Now this monitor is getting older, so maybe a good value for your money.

Wireles!? That must be some present for just an online survey. JVC must be serious about it.

When I was buying hybrid at 2015 GH4 wasn't even close to what the Samsung NX1 could do. It was almost laughable how much better the NX was, but put me an GH5/GH5S/P4K in front of me and ask me now. M43 upped their game so much in video, that is almost uunbelievable.. To be fair the NX1 is still the better photo camera than any of these, but the video quality is lacking in 2019 terms.

Ah! Good old 90s! I believe this is a Michel Gondry video, one of the best in business. I remember later at the '00s an essential DVD collection we all had were the Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, and Michel Gondry Director's Series. https://www.amazon.com/Directors-Label-Boxed-Set-Cunningham/dp/B00065AXTM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=director's+series&qid=1562142250&s=gateway&sr=8-1

I know people make money with Filmora and a 70/80D. Usually I support the open source community but I have no experience with any of those. As I said I have seen edited weddings in Filmora, they were very basic with ready made titles.

Great, they are going to sell 100 more, each, worldwide.

I do agree that the tech is amazing lately, but I strongly disagree with the core of your comment. My impression of it is that you have never worked on a real production or understand exactly what the job of a focus puller is. Focus pulling is not only technical but artistic as well. The way the focus puller works distincts him/her from other professionals and make his/hers career. Pulling focus is not exactly keep an object in focus, you can do that taping a screen, but usually the artistry and the tone that sets the movement is before reaching your focus objective. I used to use the C100mkII and now the C200 all the time, but AF was never more than 5-10% of my workflow. Maybe even less. On another note, a few TV productions here are using the Tilta wireless focus with gimbals a lot lately, it is almost a stable in the workflow and a trend I see going on for the next couple of years at least.

Or a huge sensor "I am a DSLR fan for shooting video. I have used them for ten years across Asia, whether sneaking around Burma, avoiding the authorities in Kashgar, Xinjiang or the Tibetan regions of China. In fact I use them everyday. I’m based back in London now and have used my Lumix GH cameras in forty new countries in three years, from Colombia to Kazakhstan from Iceland to Iran. Every time the M43 form factor is gold." and this one goes to the guy that put the new JVC in the same sentence with the Sony Venice! "Micro four thirds truly is the DSLR video king. I know what bigger sensors and cameras can do. I shot the Queen’s Christmas Message with a fully rigged Sony Venice and lenses I could barely lift."
-
Is this going to work with all/most native lenses? What other modules do you have in mind, and how you are going to price it/them/all of them? I am all in for some gaffer tape constructions, it could lower the price also a $ or 0.7£!
-
Exactly the same here. Even though people love the C series, just can't justify the price and "limited" features. It's not even close.
-
That is very interesting. I am been payed by job, and not DVDs but something simalar can make sense if it was close to 3-4€ (usually DVDs going for 10-12€). For some customers could be an interesting proposition. Thanks for the note, I'll do a little research about it.
-
This full frame conversation for "less than 4000€" is mad. We do not need full frame on a JVC workhorse camera, there are other products for this. If anyone needs a Sony Venice or a Red or a SH1 they are free to do as they please. Most of us, JVC users already, need a better and more modern LS300 with the same or sinilar price.
-
No, yes! I mentioned it quite explicitly, as it is a mystery to me too! Can't stand delivering DVDs in this era! I deliver 4K files and DVDs the same week! But in a way it is easier for them to sell the DVDs than anything else. These days I am completing a 4 camera live performance with almost 100 performers (dance/music/theater), the company that gave me the job will certainly want to sell to all 100 of them, and additional copies to grand parents, friends and co.. I am exporting 10GB files (3parts) to keep as "masters" and then I have to deliver to them the "master DVD" which in 2019 is a terrible thing to do! I was just thinking loudly that maybe a locked USB stick could be a tradeable idea..
-
You know that I still deliver DVDs? People still need something to "hold" and buy. I can't tell them "I will give you s key that you can watch online". They need a physical product, with cover - art work that they can hold in their hands! A usb stick that can not be copied could be it, but I haven't heard of anything such.
-
The point is: what can we give to customers that is at least 1080p quality, but "write" protected, so they have to spend their 10-15€ to buy, instead of copying it from someone else? Write protected USB sticks would be ideal.
