  1. It is a Rode kind of Video mic also..to be fair, that is much better than having that same mic on camera. Also to have the boom on an angle, especially these kind of wide ones, is a fair tactic when an amateur or semi-pro have to hold it for a substantial amount of time, or else is 3minutes and then nothing!
  2. @BTM_Pix thought so, but its even better ofcourse! Is this going to be kickstarted also? After the Lukilink fiasco I "promised" myself I would never kickstart again, but I can easily change my mind anyway! Congrats, you are on a roll as of late! All those increase the usability of the P4K significantly. I am not lying when I say that I will get the camera because of you. Thank you.
  3. I love big knobs! Tell us! (Nice "marketing" picture also). As of the ND solution, in mount is good enough for me, as I will be using it run n gun with native m43 glass and then is when I need most an e-ND solution. I could do both options of course. Seriously, if I set the ND issue I am ordering the P4K the next day.
  4. You are pushing me hard towards the P4K! If your e-ND works then I am sold. Internal ND is the one feature I need more than anything else in the video world, but If I can make or buy one such yours, then it would do.. Maybe a device controlling both would be the best.. Where is that electric blue? I missed that! Now the camera can be truly a vloggers dream!
  5. There are straps that you can put to the leg or other places, but tight or ankle are more convenient. Ursa straps are my favorite if you want to check them out.
  6. It's funny how all of us have not 1, but 2 NX1!! I also have a NX500 and NX3000 for good measures. NX500 for the price and size is unbelievable.
  7. 1) how did they fixed the luminance bouncing? 3) H265 is a lot more common now 4) I have 2 NX1 and I know some people with NX1 and I haven't see that happen before. 5) there is new NX equipment.
  8. maybe it will fit the new JVC! A local shop that I have spend a dozen thousands of € the last few years have 2 P4K waiting at the moment..I do not need anything the P4K does, but it is so cheap..and I have the glass..and the NPF batteries..and the T5s...
  9. and you can put an Olympus 12-100mm natively and go run n gunning if you'd like. Have you used the Dec Regain on the LS300? any tricks? I bought it for "my" P4K but now it collects dust as I am not 100% on the BM! Maybe I will go try it on the JVC or GH5 at the office.
  10. You are wrong in multiple levels! Ofcourse I live in Europe, so I don't really have a clue about the US market, but here, everything you said in the above statement is false. Olympus is very popular with the "hip" crowd here, also their representative is very aggresive with marketing and very reliable with service and repairs, unlike Sony and Panasonic. Most of the GH pro's here are buying Olympus lenses. There are literally unlimited GH5 sold here and most bought at 1999€. Now, all these people are buying P4K cameras and keep their GH5 for run n gun and workhorse ones. Yes, "we" buy those cameras, I do not think that BM wanted to sell the P4K to bakers or fishermen. "We", including the young generation are more than what "we" were 20 or 30 years ago. How many youngsters knew in the 80s and 90s doing videos and posting them on youtube? There are hundrends of thousands now. Z is a sensor in a box and will cost 5000£€$. LS300 is a real workhorse camera, and it has to be less than 4000$€£ to be competitive. No full frame. No need, no sense.
  11. If I had to choose between 6K - S35 variable, or 4K full frame, then I would vote 100% for 6K-S35. More than 1 reasons! For economical reasons a S35 sensor makes far more sense also, Lets see the Z cameras that are more a sensor in a box than a traditional design. The price difference from m43 to S35 and full frame is "huge" and huge. Also, I believe the market here are people buying 1/3,2/3,1" camcorders, anything more will be just heavenly to them and ,maybe, good enough for some of us.
  12. i am just putting this here, for all of us to understand where JVC stands at the moment. http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?model_id=MDL102557 The SSD slot is another great innovation by JVC. The price is 3900$ though.
  13. Don't they mention what's changed? I hate those..Sony does them all the time also. Fuji is very respectful in that matter, very explainable.
  14. I said "amateurs". Know what I mean! @BTM_Pix i always use SmallHD Focus, and never an EVF, even if it comes without any of those and I save 200-300€ I will be extremely happy! @Alt Shoo 6K yes, full frame - NO! I seriously doubt a full frame such camera would be useful or necessary or even competitively priced which is the key point here. Ursa mini pro cameras, EVA, C cameras, FS cameras AREN'T full frame and they own 99,9% of their market.. P4K, Z, GH cameras are owning a huge portion of their market too with "only" being m43.. When I use full frame cameras I always go to 5.6f or more, to have reasonable depth of field, and newer smaller sensors have great high ISO performance.. The sensor with the m43 mount was/ is an amazing solution for me and speedboosted can cover all bases! This was a plus for me on the previous camera, the company that owns the LS300 I am using since then acquired 2 more GH5 and a Pocket 4K, before the LS300 they were only buying Canon/Sony..
  15. Even if it was exactly the same but with dual ISO and additionally a good 10bit codec, I would buy that camera for 3500€ and I believe this is the market they have to attend, a good work horse camera around 3000-4000€$£. Cine cameras like the Z and P4K are good enough for most, but I still haven't bought my P4K cause I do not really need it. A C100mkII with 4K and some more modern features or an even cheaper FS5 with less features is more the market for me. There is not such a camera at the moment, the JVC LS300 was/is the only one in the market but there are a few shortcomings that can't make it a best buy ever. Their "lite" codecs right now are very "lite" at times, and not Canon C100mkII good-lite! Also, the low light performance is not good for 2019 (or even '18). I know most people here want a cheap and incredible cine camera, but there are; Z and P4K can offer you whatever cine you want. Seriously, they are that good and that cheap, what else do you need from one for an indie short or a crash cam of a bigger production? What I am missing, which is the HUGE BULK of video productions around the world, is a reasonable priced workhorse camera under 5.000$€£. Changes happen so fast now, that big "investments" in camera bodies are not easy to make, and the lower segments of the market are growing rapidly. There are literally legions of low budgeted video makers from villages to huge metropolises (Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Mexico city, Cairo, etc etc) that want a dependable tool that will bring food to the table and now most served by various flavors of Canon (C100, 70/80D, camcorders even..). LS300 sold more than we thought, because of some of those people, but still was some kind of an afterthought or one of its shortcomings was a deal breaker for some (e.g terrible monitoring, and those people do not want extra bulk, or extra expenses). They can make it right this time, but the key here is "pricing", and they know it, and that is good. Edit: it is interesting that they do not allow "amateurs" to take the survey. It shows to me that are targeting specifically the gap in the market I mentioned above. My impression is that they will try to fit in as much as they could for the most economical price.
  16. There is a whole subforum for anamorphic, you can take the conversation there. I do not believe anamorphic is a big deal for most people, it can be helpful for some but these type of cameras are bread bringers, mostly just tools. LS300 sold quite well here for weddings, in schools/institutions and the such. It was an advanced camcorder with some great innovation thrown in. @KnightsFan I found the body not convinient for anything really. XC15 or C100mkII are my favorite. Imagine an XC15 body and grip with almost any small prime in front and the variable zoom prime function. Masterpiece!
  17. Thanks for all the info. You are bringing valuable insight in sensors and other specialized subjects.
  18. And I said "I will"! But we already have passed half of this year and I do not see it coming. As of the LS300, I mentioned bad build quality/ergonomics, viewfinder/monitor unusable but not a deal breaker (I found it reasonable for a very cheap camera to use external 5" monitor), bad high ISO performance, lack of a good 10bit codec and I too asked for an XC15 or Canon C form factor with internal NDs and all the rest. I voted for same combination though, S35 variable sensor with m43 mount AND dual pixel, and preferably some kind of raw but it could be external. 6K could be great, and definitely 60/50 frames at 4K at least, but I do not really care for high speed - there were 2-3 questions about high speed, I am not sure if it is a big deal to a lot of people, but I am using it rarely.
  19. I did it, but I do not see that coming any time soon. I will end with the P4K..the writing is on the wall, no one will offer such a great camera for such a low price, but not even a slightly worst for more money!
  20. @heart0less I never use 3200 on this camera, 1600 is the maximum, and still I am trying to use less than that. If anyone wants to buy a new one with an old price, https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Mirrorless-Digital-Camera/dp/B00NFDZRRA/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=samsung+nx1&qid=1560363349&s=gateway&sr=8-1 I am not sure what the deal is here, but it is an official Samsung listing. There is 1 NX30 listing left also!
  21. Do you own it? Where did you bought it from?
  22. My view about this is than in 2025 there will be fewer platforms amd eventually it will be just one including litteraly everything. @Mokara before you didn't have 4K-6K-8K raw and 10bit and huge games and uncompressed audio e.t.c In my case I have noticed that I buy the standard capacity of the time, which was 1GB a few years ago, then 2GB, 3GB, and now I am buying 4GB. They are equally filled with the junk or the masterpieces of the era (both mine or others). For instance, if I want to download something that I do not have access in my country I choose the best quality I can find. 2 years ago 720p was more than enough. 4 years ago, even the screeners before the Oscars were "ok" to get the idea. Now, for some specific movies I am going more than 50-60GB. Since late last year I started making 4K projects and using 10 bit files and raw and the such, so for a similar project of 3 years ago now I need a lot more space, and of course only locally.
  23. My SmallHD Focus has increased my productivity greatly, especially living and working in the very sunny Mediterranean. It is absolutely the lightest, smallest and with the best User Interface of them all. It was an easy choice for me and one if the best I did, in sense of equipment, the last couple of years.
