Great advice. This is indeed something with do with live audiences. This is one way though. There are litteraly hundreds of different ways, depending the orchestra, the venue, the direction of the sound scape (as - what the director wants), the equipment and many more. Physics (acoustics) play a major role in whatever we do in sound as well. Practically, if you have a very wide stereo mic, like what all the cheap ones are and do, you are gathering mostly sound next to the mic. If you have one loud person there, your recording is wasted, all you will hear is the specific person. Maybe better is to have a small console next to the main-wide camera and do a little mixing in the fly. With a few 100$ microphones and a tiny console (all in all 500$ or so) you can achieve a greater sound scape than 1 1000$ microphone. Then you can have a classic short gun (Sanken CS-1M would be ideal) for the camera closest to the action and to the ring, and something different on the 3rd camera (what the 3rd camera does?), maybe a stereo there? Then do the mix in post. You will be amazed what production values will give you a simple setuo such this!

China is leading the world in many innovations right now. From medicine to space. China is too big and too important. It almost wasn't a factor a few decades ago. Mercedes just signed to make all the new Smart cars in China, and the company is 50-50%! The Germans gave equal rights to the Chinese for a brand they have created years ago. That says a lot about Chinese power. Germans will make only the design, all the rest are going to be Chinese. https://www.dw.com/en/daimler-and-geely-team-up-to-build-smart-cars-in-china/a-48093793 and "Geely's billionaire owner Li Shufu is Daimler's biggest shareholder. He acquired a ten percent holding in the company in 2018, raising concerns about Beijing's ambitions in Germany."

We - sound men - are using multiple mics and mixing to achieve our goals in live performances. With just one mic you can't do everything obviously. That is why I suggested the 440, is the cheapest stereo mic that has some kind of direction, and works quite well (it is a Sennheiser after all). Anything with less directionality, and you just hear the crowd, you - changing camera settings, and almost nothing in front. It is a tricky situation.. and this, "While the camera mics aren't terrible for this, I would like something better. " doesn't help!

@DBounce The 2 facts under that show that German cars broke more often, and have the lowest possible warranty (it is very rare for a new car to brake at the very first 2 years of ownership), plus, most of those brands have the biggest servicing and parts costs in their respected categories. Kia/Hyundai have some of the biggest warranty in the industry and are toping all surveys and customer satisfaction questionnaires. 1) Mercedes/BMW/Mini/Porsche/VW/Skoda(VW group) are giving the lowest warranty in industry - 2 years, and together with Volvo, they are giving the lowest warranty in the auto industry. Most give 5 years with some restriction in miles . Top warranty in Europe: Ford 8 years - Kia 7, Toyota 6, Hyundai 5 - but with truly unlimited miles, the only one. 2) In my country's owners satisfaction survey (that means, the owners of the cars) ,the least satisfactory cars (that means, that their owners are not happy with them, and probably won't buy again the same brand) are: Audi 61.5 BMW-Mini 50.5 VW 49.7 First ones? Kia 95.1 Mazda 95 Alfa Romeo 94.7 (Alfisti are fanatics about their cars here, it is a way of life!) Hyundai 94.6 Half with a BMW are happy with their cars, that probably paid a lot more than a Hyundai, but 95% of the Kia/Hyundai owners are happy with their cars. I was checking the Audi Q3 35.500euros - VW Tiguan 31.500euros and Citroen C5 Aircross 30.800euros. The Citroen is a lot nicer in design, comfort, has a lot of extras for its price, it is fastest both in total speed and 0-60miles, it consumes less fuel, pays less taxes per year (I am not sure about the equiv. in US), pollutes less, has the biggest ground clearance in the category (23cm) and the most off road capabilities of a NON 4WD vehicle (has some extra Grip Control programs), has more boot space (by a lot) and cost a lot less money, for 5 years warranty, while the others have 2..It is not a Porsch, but not anyone is dreaming brands and badges. Is it about money, or about happiness and ease of mind? People make choices everyday among these lines.

My point is that a camera system is not like a dead parrot. With a good system you can produce for many years, the NX1 is pinin' for the fjords!

Before the Chinese and after the Japanese were the Koreans.. When I was growing up Korean cars were a joke. Hyundai Accent anyone? Now Kia/Hyundai have some of the biggest warranty in the industry and are toping all surveys and customer satisfaction questionnaires. Do you know what are the lowest of the low? Germans! Mercedes/BMW/Mini/Porsche/VW/Skoda(VW group) are giving the lowest warranty in industry - 2 years, while most give 5 with some restriction in miles - and Kia 7, Hyundai 5 - but with truly unlimited miles, the only one, and Ford Europe recently announced 8 years (I am not sure if that took effect already) and Toyota announced 6 years. In my country's owners satisfaction survey the last ones, are: Audi 61.5 BMW-Mini 50.5 VW 49.7 First ones? Kia 95.1 Mazda 95 Alfa Romeo 94.7 (Alfisti are fanatics about their cars here, it is a way of life!) Hyundai 94.6 So, no German cars for me!

Definitely Sennheiser MKH 440. It is my cheap stereo mic that I use all the time. Directional Stereo is the way to go for cheap. This is a great buy also. https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/5c9c0e5adaceb659/index.html

C. None of the above

The fact that he is using the same profile picture, name and attitude, shows that this guy is really proud of his internet persona. So weird..

I transcoded the files to prores, but I haven't managed to make Resolve work. It vanishes unexpectedly at some point before start working on the project. I wasted 2 days for nothing. Going back to Premiere for this project and I will be waiting for the official 16.

I can tell you even in Egypt, or maybe, especially Egypt, dentists are totally uper class and quite rich. There are no "poor" dentists in 3rd or 2nd world countries. Also, 70$ is too low for Egypt! 70$ is probably too low for the worst of the worst. This guy is terrible.

I am aware, and very well read- of the human history. I was talking about the specific situation (the person + the country = noone cares what happens on the internet and by whom!).

The most interesting takes of the subject are from Sony. The 1" one and the BOSS one. But 1" sensor can make me invest on something, anything smaller is just smartphone territory.

Are you serious? They have a civil unrest in Egypt almost every 6 months. Western Countries literally planned and executed a coup there, or else WW3 was imminent.. Do you believe anyone cares what an idiot comments on the internet on his free time?!

of course not! Not even close..I tried some of the bigger backpacks, and were totally inconvenient for carrying around, and/or Air travels, so I decided to go with something slightly smaller (like this 450 LowePro or Tenba 32L, anything more is HUGE, and heavy). My main issue is that I have A LOT of equipment (like taking with me 2-3 bodies, and 5-6 lenses, and build from there) so it was a wishful thinking I could fit all in one backpack. If you add laptop/surface/sound/monitors/gimbal/360cameras/drone e.t.c is just too much. But for a more "self-controlled" approach, or 1-2 days of specific shooting, it can fit a lot of stuff. If you can take 2 bodies, 3 lenses, drone, a Surface Go (instead of the laptop) and no gimbal, it can be quite good. I prefer it from older LowePro designs, and it can be quite deep. Check these photographs from the Amazon review from 24 February 2019, he can fit a camera/lenses/accessories/a gimbal and a Mavic. https://www.amazon.de/Lowepro-ProTactic-Camera-Laptop-Backpack/dp/B07J1ZNZXF/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 All in all, I remembered why I was avoiding back packs for so many years. The bag I use the most is the Vanguard Quovio 41 or 48 (don't remember which one I have). I have it for 5 years now and it is being amazing. I found it more appropriate for video work, when you have some rigging going on already, open the bag and take what you need, the backpacks and similar bags are more photography orientated, or just to carry thing from place A to B, but not from A to B to C, back to A e.t.c! Last job I fit there - quite easily - 3 bodies, 3 lenses, Surface Go, Focus 5", hard drives, too many batteries, chargers, cables, Sennheiser 25 headphones, Sennheiser MKH 440 and Rode Micro and a small Manfrotto tripod on top! I took the Mavic on its DJI bag, and no gimbal (actually I am not sure why I bought the Ronin S, I never use it!).

All the footage is 1080p/25frames, the whole 2 hours footage is only 12GB on the JVC (80GB on the GH5 and 50GB on each of the NX cameras . I will try Premiere and report back.. EDIT: everything's fine on Premiere! I haven't edited anything yet, at least it recognizes the files and sound and timelines and everything..
-
I can not import MOV files from JVC LS300 and GH5 cameras. Why is that? Everything is perfect with my NX cameras..I wanted to try my first major project on Resolve, but I have this stupid issue.. Also the recent beta seems more buggy than the previous one..not a good start..

Oh, he took us to school alright, and now is taking to school the masses of mainstream internet media. I wish all this energy that he is spending to fool people for some deep buried reasons rooted on the darkest places of his mind, was put on a self portrait documentary. I would pay 15$ to watch that.

If they were a bit more careful when designing this camera, it would have been the indie-hit of the century. They lost a lot of customers because of the powering and screen situation. They almost have lost me as well! Still is a great indie hit. A few days ago I recorded a 120-130minutes performance with my 2 NX1 and I didn't even change a battery. I even have lost the 3rd one I own, and still I do not worry about it. These are 4 years old batteries! This is not a small deal to have one less think to worry about.. A friend got one of those and he is quite happy about it. https://www.amazon.de/Waraxe-Blackmagic-Pocket-Cinema-Camera/dp/B07MZZST8P/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=pocket+4k&qid=1557429500&s=gateway&sr=8-4 What is the safest and cheapest way to connect a Sony NPF battery on the P4K? This is a very good company and I already own something similar for my Zoom F8 recorder and is very well built. https://cvp.com/product/hawk-woods-dv-bm4-power-adaptor Is it possible to power it through a SmallHD Focus???

The a6xxx doesnt even has adequate buttons, and it is the same thing since literally the beginning of the mirrorless era. Must be dead cheap to manufacture. "slightly more expensive electronics"?! What do you mean "slightly"!?!? Data transfer/sensor size/buffer, everything is on a much bigger scale. Also A7 cameras can be cheaper than a6xxx cameras.

Haha! So true! The first seasons were a great mix of medieval history with a spice of fantasy but then the thing went downhill very fast. What happened to the Snakes? They created a whole chapter that didn't exist in the books for no reason at all. That went nowhere like so many sub stories, and suddenly, the few that have left are going to the North, to various castles and we are never going to see them again, while some crazy fools go down to King's Landing that something random will happen. It seems to me that Benioff and CO, are just lucky to have the parents (his father is Stephen F£€$ing Friedman, for - his - God's shake! ) they have, and that gives them ultimate success, just because..when they had to do their part, failed miserably (also check Weiss's early tries, most of them were cancelled projects!). Benioff took one of the most established and influential storys of all time - the Iliad - and turned it into a mindless thing called Troy. How can you mess that? It is been studied and told for thousands of years! Welcome to Hollywood..
-
It doesn't work at all like this! SPOILER ALERT! Hey, how bad the last episode was??!! Just terrible television, they tried to squeeze so much in there and everything seemed wrong in the end. I am wondering why they have random durations, and didn't choose to make, let's say, 10 1-hour episodes or something. The whole thing is too random right now, and the plot seems like is written by Sea Manatees. These dragons perish too easily lately. What about Ghost? Seeing running against the dead with the Dothraki and in the 4th episode goes to the North to chill with his new friends?! Why don't the other have these beautiful big Ballistas? They had a castle, and then they left it and went up to the north, then came back down to water the plants, before go to King's Landing? So much poor script writing..

Our monitors literally are inches away from us though.. For me, the big difference is the HDR, not so much the resolution. I think OLED makes such a huge difference to all that; human eyes can adapt to darkness (except GOT!) but they can not stand too much brightness, so the absolute black is more valuable to higher brightness technology. Also, have you people noticed how bad the 80s and 90s and even early 00s, series look right now? They are almost difficult to follow, while the 60s and 70s remastered from film look stunning!

This is happening, since 2015. I would expect Sharp will have something similar in their upcoming 8K camera. http://pro.jvc.com/pro/attributes/4k/clips/prime_zoom_demo.jsp

It's all relative. I shot a performance last night with GH5/JVC LS300/1 A7iii and 2 NX1, which literally is a dead mount, and in terms of performance, focus dampening (the throw and feel is unbelievable) the S lenses were the best of the group (Sony 24-105mm, Olympus 12-40mm 2.8, Panasonic 12-60mm) In the final editing the biggest percentage will be NX. For most of the M50 buyers this will be the last camera they will ever need, or want. It will be adequate for family and travel pictures for the foreseable future and it is clearly targeted to the masses, and not us. They will be fine..
