Ok, it is sad to take this conversation further, but even sadder is the fact that a dead system right now is better in almost everything the R has to offer. I am watching right now the footage I took for a corporate this morning on my OLED TV, shot on NX1 - Vivid profile (notched down a bit) and the image is just amazing, and I have already shot and view on 2 GH5 and a JVC LS300 this week and A7Sii and Canon 5Diii last week. NX1 will be the Dreamcast soon-ish, but right now the R is just a PS3, and the PS5 is ready to launch.

This dead system is equal or better than Canon mirrorless systems (2 of those by the way), 3 years after its "demise" and for a wee tiny portion of the money you need to build something similar on R. Even the 4K crop is less.. Go figure.. P.S we don't put anyone down, when - for a rather expensive camera - you do not care about a HUGE crop factor, the just limited native lens options, sub par ergonomics (for a Canon), an unusual high price (yeah, again), one of the highest RS then maybe you under value the argument. And who is really "trolling"? Someone who states the facts, like @Andrew Reid did, and I agreed? Or someone that "lowers the standards of the earth", so to make a sub par camera look amazing (Bill Hicks line from the Vanilla Ice scetch!).

Z-CAM quietly announce 8k and 6k FULL FRAME cameras - no joke!
Kisaha replied to Oliver Daniel's topic in Cameras
Don't they have the 4K S35 camera also for October/November release? Their current m43 one is too knew also, definitely they need resources for firmware upgrades and bugs e.t.c It takes almost 2 or more years for Canon (still waiting for that C100mkIII!)/Sony to produce a cine/video camera, it is amazing if the Z cam do 3 and a half in one.. -
Small Edelkrones. They work and they are cheap, relatively.

I am just saying you do not have to go to great extents to "defend" these cameras because you are loosing "credibility". We all agree that modern cameras are good enough for most things, trying to stretch your (ours) logic to make it seem better than it is, is a futile excersice to abnormality. These 2 R cameras are their worst in class. Be happy using them, but there are better solutions out there for almost everyone. I own already a camera with better ergononics, better menu system, un breakable top screen, Fn functions on lenses and already amazing color science, and it is called NX1..but that was 5 years ago..

Sony logic menus should be standard on everything!

I tried to stay out of this conversation this time but it just amazes me of how much effort Canon sympathizers have to put to make a lesser - and very expensive - camera seem like an amazing top choice when clearly is not. When the arguments are like: It doesnt have this but i do not need it It has the worst rolling shutter, but i do not shoot trains This lens is super quite and blah blah, when obviously isn't. Then logic is completely thrown out of the window, from a moving train. This is a fight one can't win, if Canon doesn't have it - it is not important. If it does have it, it must be best in business. Seems in 2019 they have run out of excuses. Tmrow I will be working with 2 X GH5 and 12-100/12-60, Wensday with 2 X NX1 16-50S/12-24 and Thursday with the C200/5DmkIIO 24-70/70-200. Guess which system I am NOT really looking forward to work with..

I am using Film Convert some times, which need specific settings (normal or DR), but I had great results, especially with sunny outside scenes and landscapes, with VIVID -8 sharpness, -4 saturation, -2 contrast. Black at 5, and lately, with normal and vivid I leave the SmartSomething On (I do not remember the name! That thing that adds some dynamic range, or not!). The camera falls apart after 800ISO, which is the only complaint I have, and the reason that I am buying a new video camera (PK4 maybe), and next year (maybe) changing system. @lucabutera are you going to sell more NX adapters? Is it possible to adapt NX lenses to other mounts? A speed boosted m43 would be amazing and a huge market for you. Imagine all the hundred of thousands of NX lenses in the wild, and no modern cameras at all. It would be a huge success, you can sell hundrends of those, maybe even thousands. Imagine 1000 adapters X 500€ = 500.000€ in 3-5 years!

Whaaaaat??!!!! I totally missed this type of info. "The Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 Lens is a lightweight cine-style zoom lens for MFT mount cameras with a Super 35mm-sized sensor." What that even means??!! The only MFT S35 camera is the JVC LS300.. I am in the process of ordering the EF Samyangs anyway, the 24/35/50/85 kit + the 16mm = 1000less € than the MK 18-55, which admittedly is a better solution..
-
These are not the VDSLR series, or even the old plain Samyang/Rokinons, this is the ultrafast XP/SP series. Each lens cost almost double than the VDSLR equivalent, and personally I do not know anyone using the XP line, while most of my colleague's own at least one VDSLR (14mm and 85mm mostly). If you have triple the money then buy German glass, I do not (mainly a soundman), so I decided getting the 4 lenses EF kit and the 16mm T2.6. I use full frame lenses mostly at 4 anyway, so I stop down a bit anyway, but it is good to have the option to go 1 stop wider if need be. My preference would be the MK series, or CN-E or the Sony 18-110 fake cine, but couldn't decide on following their systems, so I am going the "mild" route of the EF Samyangs.

I am not sure all these lenses mentioned here are true parfocal. The 18-35 lenses I have used certainly weren't.

Great... How did he put the MK lenses on the P4K?

This was the most interesting part of that post https://www.apertus.org/facebook

I would love to see Banksy's version on "Exit through the Cine Store".

The fact that most of you asking for an external recorder puts the Pocket 4K and all the recording options it offers in perspective. As I said before, you are buying an external record and a whole editing and post production suite plus getting a free camera with a very adaptable and good high ISO sensor! I am holding my P4K order until NAB, just in case; for what I do, an XC type camera with broadcast quality video is enough for me, is anyone going to deliver a great S35/m43 video camera with broadcast quality for less than 5000? If not, then P4K it is. Z S35 sounds amazing but it isn't a real product yet and I have to up my game a little at 2019.

How an L mount benefit you, or most of us? M43 is another story.
-
Fujinon MK 18-55 and 50-135 Canon CN-E 18-80 and 70-200 are the cheapest. If you are a Sony user, the Sony E PZ 18-110mm f/4 G OSS Lens (SELP18110G) is acting like a real cine lens, it isn't, but acts like it and it is very convincing at it!

Budget Video Camera for 13-year-old son (and wife's vacation)?
Kisaha replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
So many bundles, so many accessories! I have to make a list. Another "to buy" list.. The stick seems the same as in the bike bundle though. -
Who is selling for 1050? The 1175 is the lower I can find. And it goes to around 1250+VAT for some shops (do not want to point them out). Haha! Sorry, 1175€+VAT, I blame my mild dyslexia for that!

Budget Video Camera for 13-year-old son (and wife's vacation)?
Kisaha replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
I got the bike bundle, only available bundle in the country, seems like they sell really well. Which selfie stick is this? https://www.amazon.com/Insta360-One-Bike-Bundle/dp/B07CZH7M62?th=1&psc=1 Some friends (amateur photographers with dozens of thousands of euros of equipment and older 360 cameras themseves) though that I had a mini selfie drone, when I sent them my first experiments! I want to get the protective water resistant case and the Mavic mount next! Everything is brilliant about it. Software mostly. -
Finally, I was split between the LowePro Tactic AW II 450 and the Tenba Axis 32L; in all honesty I was cheap out and went for the LowePro, was 185€ at the time, but the Tenba seems like the better bag! I decided against a huge backpack for many reasons -including back pain and in flight baggage allowance. The bag just arrived and it looks quite good and the protection system inside is - probably - much improved than older LowePro. Haven't used it yet, but the size/capacity ratio seems good, the bag looks good and is very discreet. Some extra pouches are included, the materials and zippers seem just adequate (not impressed..). https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B07J1ZNZXF/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 https://www.amazon.de/Tenba-Backpack-Rucksack-liters-Schwarz/dp/B07HRGV7PZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_51?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅZÕÑ&qid=1553804322&sr=8-51&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=tenba

Budget Video Camera for 13-year-old son (and wife's vacation)?
Kisaha replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
I played a bit with my Insta this past long weekend and it was great fun. Everyone loved it and were truly impressed, a lot more than my Mavic 2 Pro or the huge bag of 4 mirrorless and 5 lenses! I downloaded some GoPro VR plug ins from Kolor Pano website for Adobe Premiere and made the whole editing process a breeze. Maybe the Pocket 4K is the last traditional camera I am buying. Imagine in 2022 a 360 8K camera with m43 dual pixel sensors.. I am truly and genuinely impressed by Insta. You shot something on the beach, and while having a coctail or beer, you export your 360 video or edit a "normal" version. -
They just send me the official offer 1.750+VAT and a peli style case (worth 90-95€) as a sweetener. Yeah, I am doing it!
-
I talked today with the official reseller. Most pre-orders will be serviced until the end of April, and after that they will have a normal flow of cameras. They told me that if I pre order today, they estimate I will have the camera before June. I think I will do it.

Hey, Mr Zhang, I want my Z E2 to have a sound man build in as well. Modular design of course - who needs those all the time? ......{waiting for reply}......
