  1. Why US? Contact the Germany HQ directly. They usually reply less than 20 hours after they receive a mail.
  2. that's what I thought when I was byuing the heavier gimbal of its class, the DJI Ronin S, but alas! I wasn't aware that the Tilta is the better of its crop, I assumed allnare similar. How is the footage? It is as steady as you did expect?
  3. I am not sure why most suggesting Rode mics for cold shoe mics. The best solution for me and my use is the MKE 440, plain and simple. Then the MKE400 for lower (and smaller) and Azden DMX-30 for higher (and a dual purpose, as it is stereo/mono switchable) are very good solutions. The VideoMicro is the one Rode I own, great for the money, but with a ton of limitations that most people do not even realize.
  4. I wouldn't expect dozens of millions of EF (and they are not just Canon ones) lenses to vaporize on a couple of years. It will take years and years for production companies, pro photographers to change to another mount. Panasonic and Blackmagic offers EF cameras, a lot of Sonys use EF lenses. E.t.c. E.g whoever has the latest 70-200mm IS 4f, must be mostly happy with the performance and Image Quality, do not see them change easily. Another significant issue is that a lot of people are choosing a different mirrorless mount altogether, matching and combining with older EF lenses, and admittedly Sony has the most complete and wide full frame mirrorless lens line that work from the a6300 to the FS7ii. I would guess that it will take Canon a lot more time to sell as many R lenses as EF.
  5. Did you mention some issues with the FSB? Are we sure the GH06 fits the Flowtech alright?
  6. So, GH06 with the Flowtech? Have you used that combo?
  7. If you buy the Ace kit, avoid the Aluminium legs.what don't you check the Flowtech legs?
  8. There are a few NANO-USM EF-S lenses that are the fastest and most reliable focusing Canon lenses ever build. That is why, while I do not own a Canon camera, I have purchased the Nano 18-135 to use when renting C100mkII, or others.
  9. Not true! At least in body weight/size and price. GH5/GH5s/new Olympus are bigger, heavier, as expensive - as even some dSLRs are, and definitely a lot bigger and heavier than Z/A/a/NX cameras. Go check the numbers and you will see the truth. Cost, also. Even in the lower of the low there are full frame options now. What that indicates is, that we haven't (not even close) fight the thermal monster yet. That applies to every digital appliance, especially to the ones that have to perform at the top of our digital performance capabilities, like cameras, editing laptops, military and industrial applications, e.t.c
  10. Buy a used NX1 or NX500 for 400-500$. They do 7.9ms in 1080p and the quality is leaps ahead a6xx cameras 1080p. The NX1 also does usable 120f, unlike a6xx cameras wich 120f is completely unusable. The issue is that have similar bad RS in 4K (even though is less than other cameras, but still at 30ms is terrible-also, it is alnost a 5 years old camera).
  11. Just buy the Osmo Pocket for 1/10th of the price.
  12. Yes, because most of my clients are production companies, so the equipment I bring with me is significant for them. It is another marketing tool unfortunately.
  13. Great. I have read about this head, maybe it is a good solution, there is always the aspect of the "name" in our job, a client will always be more favorable of the Sachtler name than E-Image. This is always a concern. I may try my luck with this head and the Flowtech legs. Week legs. Yes, not the best around.
  14. To counter-argue, I will need to write at least 50 pages, so if you didn't understand my previous 2 posts, then sorry, but I have very limited e-time. I wasn't attacking anyone, I genuinely believe you have no clue about how the "industry" and audio and visual markets work.
  15. Is it possible the E-Image to be better than both the Ace and FSB series? I have to decide soon, because that is my next buy!
  16. Lock off shots are my favorite, but many jobs require camera movement. You can't go wrong with a good tripod (and a good microphone!).
  17. It is a good cheap kit. I am going Flowtech+FSB 4 myself, but for half(or 1/3rd) of the money, Ace is the best option. You can keep a combo of what you have as a secondary option (I do some 3/4 camera events covering, so I need a plethora of accessories) and sell the rest.
  18. You are completely cluess of what you are talking about. This is out of your league, to say the least.
  19. With "Bigger share", I was reffering to the comparison between sports photography and fashion photography, meaning that mirrorless have a bigger share in fashion photography than in sports photography, which almost noone uses a mirrorless anyway. Exactly my point in video. Red/Arri is NOT Canon. Also Panasonic, BlackMagic, Sony, JVC are not Canon, while the C100/C300 era Canon dominated the market (5Dmkii and iii also) completely. What I am trying to say is that Canon is not competing with Nikon in photography and Sony in video, like they used to, there are a lot of players in both segments now, and Canon releases 5 years old hardware. At the moment, I would buy into Canon only if I was a sport photographer, in no other segment Canon has a competative product at the moment.
  20. The way you look at it everything is perfect in Canon-land, the way it is, and the way Canon admitted 2 days ago, is far different than reality. Sports photography belongs to Canonikon for the next half a dozen years, certainly, all the rest has changed. In wedding photography, a few years ago it was 95% Canonikon, now Sony has eaten a good chunk of that, and I even know a few people shooting Fuji, something unheard for even 2 years ago. If you go from 95-98% share to something like 65-68% on just a few years, then there is trouble in paradise. Fashion, the same, and the mILC have a bigger share there, for sure. Sony didn't just take some share, it almost has a monopoly with their FS5 and FS7 series. When I have knowledge of at least 30 TV shows in my market, and just 1 is Canon (C300mkII) and I even know a few (I worked in 2) using GH5 cameras, then that is not just "took some share", that is even worst than pro photography that changes happen slowly, this is a disaster, and on a market with huge profit margin. I am not trying to convince you about anything. I have 4 NX cameras, and my favorite tool of all time, besides NX, is the C100mkII, but I can not close my eyes to the writing in the wall. It is just there, with hugh neon lights.
  21. Sony a6xx cameras (which I detest) compete with M cameras, and they easily destroy them, any day. For the rest, look at my comment above. Canonikon will reign in sports photography a long time after loosing all their other castles.
  22. Because there is a continuation of things, especially in the pro world. When most professionals are using Canon (and Nikon, on a smaller percentage, and everyone else on a much much smaller scale) for 50 years - or more - then it is logical to still witness the last of their triumphant days. In my industry (TV productions on a small southern European market) Canon has lost almost ALL of its power. I worked in 4 productions so far and none were Canon. I know only 1 TV show that are using a C camera (C300mkII) currently, and I know most of the market here. This is a huge loss of capital, even in my small country, and that is the case in other markets I have personal knowledge (like UK). Canon is becoming less and less relevant/competitive in most areas, the slowest market in change, will be the pro photographers, because they change equipmeny after many years of use, and not every new release happens, despite I see a lot of people still using the 5dmkii, that doesn't mean it is the best tool for the job, that is the case with most Canon products, they offer one or two in every category, but they are behind almost everyone else.
  23. Inform us if the recording switching succeeded when you can, please. Lapland should be great!
