Canon EOS RP specs leaked, features 26MP sensor and 4K video
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
..and is this a good thing, why exactly? Oh, I get it..you mean that this will be the only way you won't feel cheated by Canon. Instead of internal competition for the worst product and product placement, it should be better to open your eyes and see what the competion offers in 2019, and not 4 years ago. -
Canon EOS RP specs leaked, features 26MP sensor and 4K video
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
This is daytime robbery. I agree 100% with your article @Andrew Reid Let's have a mid-camera first, that most Canon-lovers will buy (pro's, as a B/C camera or a Canon mirrorless body to accompany their 5D'es), and the "smaller" guys, that were waiting for years, to buy a "modern" mirrorless went out of their ways (and their wallets) to buy the mythical first Canon full frame mirrorless. Now, the smaller guys will cry for their money, and the pros will do in a few months, when Canon will release a proper pro mirrorless. What a way to waste resources, and what a wasted opportunity.. Another shock to the C200 owners, will be, when the new C cameras arrives sooner or later (C100mkIII and probably a new RF C camera). The whole situation reminds me a bit of Brexit; with these last moves, both the UK and Canon are loosing what professional integrity had left. A lot will take their businesses elsewhere. Maybe Canon were predicting their decline a few days earlier.. -
Professionals do not change gear easily, or at will. Equipment is a very serious commitment and investment. That is why Canonikon are still at the top. Unfortunately, in our profession, you always have to buy something, and that something, usually is very expensive. I mean, some professionals buy pen and paper, and we have to buy 2000$ lenses and microphones. It's all good..
-
Go get a room, man! But seriously, after so much love that you are showing to this little thing, how come you can't justify 350$ to buy one? This is just a small amount for anywhere in the western world. It can be something silly l, like 2-4 times on a restaurant (depending the country, and the restaurant, of course!). It is 400$ here, by the way. The EU premium..
-
True, but it won't be able to compete with thicker codecs, especially when there are cameras offering different flavores of prores/raw and ofcourse H265. It will be sufficient for most - photographers - doin - a - little - video. I am an early H265 adaptor, with 3 NX cameras shooting exclusively that, but there are a lot of dedicated video cameras and hybrids now that are more appropriate for professional use. Edit: Does anyone know about the lenses roadmap, or something?
-
This is too low. The un-hacked NX500 shoots that, and that is a 4 years old tiny camera that cost 750€ kit when new. This is too low for a 2019 un-released yet, camera. Also, the NX500 can shoot double, or more, than that, and 2.5K also, with the hack. 72 H265 is a lot better than a similar number in H264, but certainly no 144Mbps. No way. Panasonic said it, this is a photo camera first, that can do alright video too. They didn't lie! I believe the power of the consortium are the total lenses that 3 big companies can offer on a short period of time, but this is still to be seen. Do not see myself as an early adaptor in any of those! P4K or Z for me.

Not impressed by the specs and the price, especially when you have to pay for a feature that is already there, I hate these practices, but the size issue is a bit overblown. Tiny small cameras were always a nightmare to use, from the a6xx series to the A7 ones. It is not a coincidence that every A7 series camera is a bit bigger than the previous generation. The sales of the GH5 show that also, while in my opinion the GH5 is too big and heavy for a m43 camera - with the smaller lenses possible, and the a7 is too small and light when used with bigger lenses and/or adapted ones.
-
You are getting our cameras, shame on you, sir!
-
Upsetting..at least. They delivered only a few in my country just after their first release..instead of sending more, it seems they slowed down production!
-
Maybe the GH series will be the specialized video series, of all Panasonic's (and m43), also, there is a limit of what anyone can offer on a specific "small" full frame body (even though it seems it will be the heaviest and biggest mirrorless). Not anything is positive on small bodies, especially with bigger sensors (the sensor size increases data flow also, which leads to faster circuitry, buffer memory and the such, so everything adds to more and more heat). Mind you that GH5 is the biggest and heaviest mirrorless, with the smaller sensor, and the new Olympus probably defeat it in both (or at least size).
-
Guys and girls, how is your order status so far? I asked the official BM importer here and they couldn't give me a timetable for delivery. They still haven't service pre-orders from months ago, so I didn't pre order yet. Has anyone NOT received his pre-ordered P4K yet? And when do you people pre-ordered.

There is the Sony one, which looses true diversity, if you connect 2 mics at the same time (which is a huge minus, and the reason I purchased the simple Rx), and there is going to be a 2.4GhZ system by Aputure/Deity soon, but we really do not know much as of now, but it is imminent for release. Won't be as cheap though, probably double the price.

Fstoppers moved to Puerto Rico. Have you had the desire to move?

Come to Greece gia na ti vris ("come to Greece to feel cozy about it", or something among these lines. It was a line from a cheesy 80s movie here!) With 300-400.000AUS$ you can probably buy a family house, an olive grove, and some other Mediterranean trees, being equally close to a mountain or the see, while beeing a few hours away from a major city, and less, from a major archaeological site. Also, you probably get a passport with it! Greece needs the smallest imvestment in land to get a EU passport, that is one of the reasons a lot of Chinese businessmen buy houses here. That, and the hundrends of habitable islands. Land is not very cheap, like some 3rd rate country, but you are living into EU, on a "western" influenced country, that almost all speak English, adequate infrastructure, and relatively, a very low crime rate (it used to be no crime at all a few decades ago, we literally were sleeping with doors and windows open, during the summer, until recently). -
There is no Brexit - just Exit!

What country? A friend recently was buying a gimbal, and the shop adviced him to buy the Crane 2, as a more certain buy than the Weebill. He bought the Crane 2 and is happy, but I am not sure if there is really an issue with them. In a lot of internet reviews there are negative comments, but they are a few in this forum happy with their purchase.

EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
And the 1080p is heaps better than any Sony APS-C 1080p footage. Non crop also, etc 1080p is so good that I almost never shoot 4K anyway. Sony has significantly worst RS, but sold/sell extremely well anyway. Everything is about marketing I guess. NX1/NX500 were way ahead of their time, they just been surprassed actually. -
EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
What?!it has no 4K, and it has 19.5 in APS-C mode and 30.5 in full frame. Actually the NX1 has the same 7.9ms as the cropped P4K 1080p (official numbers) which this is exceptional for a cheap 4 years old camera. -
Insta 360 cameras offer a small view of the future. AUTO everything, a lot of options in post. There will always be a need for dedicated and specialized - and expensive - professional equipment.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?303559-Measuring-rolling-shutter-put-a-number-on-this-issue! This is a very interesting table. -
I agree! that is the point. Depending the set, and the budget of the project. Sound equipmemt for a feature film can be a lot of dozens of thousands. Even my equipment worths more than 10.000€, easily. One needs also a lot of specialized accessories and the such which add up considerably. 416 is not even near the top of mics anymore. It is a good staple, I love mine, but there are a lot of better mics out there, and different ones, depending the job. It is my #1 choice for harsh weather documentaries though. I bet all have similar quality, more important is placememt and what mic capsules one uses. DPA and Sanken are some of the best in business, which one capsule costs almost twice than this system!
-
Guys, I think you are missing the point here. This is a consumer product, cheaper and vastly smaller than the Rode/Audio Technica ones. There are 4-5 different Sennheiser wireless LINES, choose from a different one. Professional wireless systems cost thousandsof $€£ per channel, would you think a 350$€£ device could beat all of them? Plus, the device is usb c rechargeable, so you can have a power bank charge when moving/setting lights/having a brake/driving e.t.c 5 hours is good to do 5 interviews, which probably need double the time to set everything, so a full working day, really. I see Sennheisser being very clever bringing products to the mILC/smartphone generations, for limited use, some of those could be good for us too.

"Pro" is someone that make a living out of a certain trade, these guys do - they shouldn't - there is a certain space that make it doable, between cheap weddings, corporates and a few "connections". The show didn't go on this year, but they are still pulling some strings for next year. It is not always about abilities and worth, connections are more important almost always.
-
What do you mean? They were changing it by hand, without a focus pulling accessory or anything of the shorts. They were also inexperienced, both in culture, art and technique. They were mostly out of focus. In the final video had out of focus shots for 3-5 seconds that were never in focus.. but they were in slow motion, so it looked cinematic..

Do you remember "Girl with balloon"? Now it is "Love is in the bin", and worths even more! https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2018/oct/11/woman-who-bought-shredded-banksy-artwork-will-go-through-with-sale Mr. Brainwash, or whatever is called, is a Banksy creation, the stunt was to make it seem real, so he was pulling some strings for a couple of years before the docu-release, and maybe after. Banksy is THAT good.

I mean I bite webrunners comment, and took it further!
