What about this one? https://breakthrough.photography/products/x4-neutral-density?variant=30850759633 If it was available in Europe, I would defi itely buy it, now, there is a chance the custom fees to be as much as the filter. The new Benro is supposedly very good also.

What are the + and - of NX1 vs X-T3?
-
If I could find it in European Union for 1500euros(sic), then I would consider it for sure, as the form factor is excellent for my use and I have most accessories already.
-
Which the cheap Canon CN-E 18-80/70-200 and the Sony 18-110mm do have, being also parfocal and have no focus breathing. These lenses are huge selling points for they respected ecosystems (the cheap CN-E are so "succesful", that people put them on Sony, BM and Panasonic cameras). X-T3 is amazing (in specs at least) but it lacks a lot of lenses that a modern videomaker (and I am talking video here) would find useful. It is just, so many people came from photography, or they are the 5DmkII generation, and focus breathing, parfocal-ness and motor zooms do not mean anything to them. They believe only in shallow depth of field. The announced 16-80mm 4f could be interesting.
-
that is why you buy a cine lens.parfocal n no focus breathing, plus optimized for video.
-
Thanks for responding. Where do you put the F battery? Because I will be running it with a similar setup. The S is availablr for 549 in my country, so I can get it today, while the Weebill is not available yet, and I do not know when it will be.
-
My plan is to use the BMPK4K+gimbal with an ultrawide prime. I already have with an 14mm and I loved the results, so not so crazy about focus. I also own the Dec Regain, so I have the option if I want. Planning to use the S with a dual handle anyway, almost impossible with just one! I used the Crane 2 and some modes weren't possible, and it was already too heavy. Does it need any walkarounds or they work together as a breeze? This gimbal question puzzles me a lot lately! The S is an overkill for my hybrid cameras though, I would love something like the Weebill work, but it doesn't seem possible with the Pocket.
-
What do you people think (or know) about BMP4K and the Ronin S? What other speedbooster people recommend? I have the Dec Regain on order, but I do not like that you always have to use its handle, so I would probably buy another one, just in case.
-
This IS in Europe right now! I just received notice from an electronics chain that advertises it for 549euros. What is your opinion about the S on a BMP4K?
-
I am working right now, what does it say? What does it say?!!!

I was referring to the 18-80/70-200. The expensive CN-E lenses are a completely different league with other similarly priced lenses. Real life is a lot different than specs. We use a lot of these lenses with C100mkii/C300mkii and FS5/FS7, I haven't even see an MK lens yet.
-
My take. MK lenses are excellent, but Canon offers the cheap CN-E with full auto (coupled with the admittedly excellent dual pixel AF) and a few stabilization options, plus in built power zoom and extra handle if anyone wishes. Sony offers the ultra cheap 18-110mm 4f that we use a lot, even in popular TV series shot with the FS7ii. I personally detest "floating" IBIS shots, but a stabilized lens is a different thing altogether and is a must for video, especially on a workhorse video lens. One of the reasons I am still staying on the NX system, because of the excellent 16-50mm 2-2.8f. It is a mix between the Sigma 18-35mm and a workhorse zoom.

A bit off topic again, but matches the previous conversation. "The camera is only a small part of any production, and any camera, even an α7S II, can produce good results in controlled conditions in the right hands. To me, it looks like they just ended up making more work for themselves by having to build out enormous rigs to make the a7SII usable and functional on a movie set. It’s slightly ironic that the production said they were interested in shooting with a very lightweight camera, yet they built it out to a size that makes it no smaller than what an ARRI ALEXA MINI or RED package would end up being. There is no doubt that the camera is capable of producing good results in the right hands, but this whole thing feels a little like it’s a publicity stunt to attract attention to a movie that hasn’t exactly received great reviews from film critics. It’s a bit of a pity that all the publicity surrounding this film is based on what camera they used and not that making a movie is a collaborative effort that depends on so many people and departments." From the newshooter article about that A7Sii film, which by the way had an - almost - 10.000.000$ budget and is a Sony made and distributed film. The article and comments are very interesting. https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/12/05/the-possession-of-hannah-grace-a-feature-film-shot-entirely-on-the-sony-a7sii/

From the BM forum. "I had one for about 2 weeks, I sold it on ebay for $2,050 and bought another one which will be delivered today." That is almost 1.5 times of the original price.
-
Most people do not even have theirs P4K yet, and you are selling it for 500-1000$ already?! Get a grip guys! At the moment there are cameras offered at higher than retail price on ebay. This camera is a huge success already, and it well a lot more before the end of its cycle.

Yep, I do not even own a 4K tv or monitor, but recently I had to give 4K material to a client for 2 different jobs, so I am buying a 4K monitor/TV and editing PC in 2019. Everyone and their mothers (quite literally) own a 4KnTV these days (there are as low as 300euros here), and younger people want something to watch on their new shiny 4K TVs, so I see demand for 4K videos will rise significantly, and really soon. It is going to be a necessity. 8K TVs are sold here as well, I do not see this technology catching up before 2025, or even 2225! But seriously, 8K is mandatory for VR/360 video, 4K just doesn't have the necessary resolution, so these 2 technologies will be linked I guess. So in the traditional form of film and video 4K will be enough, but in newer aspects of the industry 8K will be needed.

A 400hp car should do the 0-100 at a few seconds, while a 100hp one needs 11-14(depending the weight and other things). It is not a very good example!

Yep, a Panasonic advertising video pushes a specific Varicam. No surprises here, but when you compare Alexa vs Varicam in real world productions, the difference is something like 9.9 out of 10 productions use Alexa and 0.1 Panasonic (in the productions between them and not other brands). Sony and Red have a much bigger share in such productions also. My point was that consumers/prosumers/pros have/need different equipment. You are trying to mix consumers, prosumers and pros in one camera, while even the Varicams are highly specialized professional cameras than noone will say "what should I buy? A Samsung S9+, GH5 or a Varicam LT?".
-
There are productions that do not care about cheap/fast/small lights. Because you can make a film with the A7Sii and an anamorphic adapter, it doesn't mean that high end does not exist, and higher budgeted productions usually use Alexas, vast majority of them, at least in Europe.

where did you get it from? Is it for MBP4K use? Does it includes the right cables? How many volts output?

because we are not 90 years old, we know that most people will always prefer their mobile phones for photos and video than another dedicated device, however small it is. The future for amateurs is better cameras in phones, not another device, we are past that. Professionals now, is another subject, of course your mom would be able to shoot something with a better spec-ed camera, but I do not see, even a 100$ wedding video shot by her, and usually wedding videos cost a lot mre. There will always be some demand for professionals of sight and sound. Tools are not getting better only for amateurs, but for pros too. Obviously media creating will be mandatory for next generations, something to learn on primary schools, but some people will be professionals, some hobbyists, and the vast majority will do something else in their life - almost like today, or 50 years ago, when the need for media creation was miniscule, and the population of earth half of what it is now. Now, if GoPro's and 1/3456234564" inch drones are good enough for you you must be very lucky, because you sell your C100, and still got cash on your hand after buying a cheap drone and a cheap action cam.

I said "HYBRID enthusiasts". I was referring to people that care both for video and photos, not the general public. A) phones are good enough for the masses (so why spend more for the Osmo Pocket) B) Alexa, and similar cameras, have no reason to have excellent performance in high ISO and they aren't meant for prosumer use anyeay C) Enthusiasts need something more than a phone for their hobby, even if it is only for the statement of it.
-
You say the Osmo Pocket is amazing for most people, but then you say mobiles phones are good enough for most people. I agree to the second part of that paradox. Alexa is an unfortunate example, we all know that is not the way we treat Alexa's in the business and there aren't a lot of enthusiasts or amateurs that own one, for more reasons than iso performance. Masses yes, enthusiasts - no. For hybrid enthusiasts (at least) an X-T3 is a dream that came true.
