  1. Ofcourse are needed, and we all have a few fast primes. Personally, I was reffering to zoom lenses, and I explain further. EF 70-200 2.8f = 89x20089x200mn and 1500gr 4f =80x176mm, 780gr and 1000€ less (which is a lot of money in Europe). A lot of people can, and do choose, the second option, saving 700+gr in the bag (and their back), 1000euros, and cheaper and lighter tripods, e.t.c.
  2. Ah!!! The Balkans! My own country is at the southest end of Europe. 13.676Khm of coast line, more than the United Kingdom, and a little bit less than China (14.500, U.S has 19.000Khm) and a few thousands of islands!
  3. Certainly, even when using faster lenses in full frame, I usually step down to 4f/5.6f anyway, even on static shots. As I said before, even in m43 4f is usable for most things, especially on the new dual ISO sensors (I have to admit that ISO performance is much narrower on a GH5).
  4. True. So we need an IR filter for the Pocket? Are there any combination of an IR+polarizer or ND that could do the job? I am still in the search for a perfect vari ND and I am willing to pay good money for a 6 stop one if it has a neutral color. Does anyone know the Breakthrough Photography X4 ND? Is a few hundrends of euros "investement", so I do not want to make that wrong.
  5. The 24 vs 28mm for a workhorse zoom is a pretty serious subject for me. Those 4mm at the wide end are very important for my shooting style, can make the difference having a small group of people in events and ceremonies, to have only a couple (or three). With all those high sensitive sensors, 4f for a workhorse zoom lens isn't that bad, especially for people that value size and weight more than a stop of light. 5 years ago, it could be a deal breaker but not now. Even back then, I know a lot of people that choose 4f Canon lenses (especially the 70-200) for their C100 cameras and that was mostly to save in weight and size (the difference is staggering), and additional costs to rigs and tripods (a Sachtler Ace is sufficient, for anything bigger people look at a much higher FSB range which literally doubles, or more, the cost of the tripod/head kit). This applies to the excellent - for their miniscule price - Sony 18-105, Canon 18-135, that I always find lacking in the wide end, while I enjoy working with the Olympus 12-100 (even though 4f for a m43 sensor is a bit limited), Samsung S 16-50 (which is a unique 2-2.8f zoom) while Fuji has an 16-70(or 80?) 4f zoom ready to launch, which I guess it is coming to satisfy more their hybrid/video crowd (which was non existant a couple of years ago!).
  6. You did that joke before and noone laughed. Read your room.
  7. The color science is (was) different - better.
  8. Great! Did you use a LUT for the grading?
  9. Thank you @Anaconda_ I was hoping for a more straightforward solution. Are all the modes possible with this combination? Can you control any operation of the camera from the gimbal? I just can not comprehend how Zhiyun underestimated the P4K popularity, which is a camera that screams "Gimbal!!!". I am expecting an in-house solution, and soon. The bigger gimbals are overkill for my needs, anyway.
  10. This is the P4K thread, please do not pollute it with iPhone spam. Make a new thread to talk about iPhones.
  11. Yep, a monitor is a must for many reasons. This camera can be used as it is, but most times it will need additional accessories. I will always suggest a SmallHD Focus, smallest and brightest solution. If you do not care about brightness, one of the cheap 5.5" copy cats will do.
  12. Borrowing a monitor would be easier, than changing a whole camera.
  13. Kamera Express ships to selected EU countries, not all. I checked the manufacturers web page and in the end, it is double the price you paid. Not that great of a bargain.
  14. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately they do not ship to my country but it is a great product on a great price. 26000mAh and capable of powering anything under 100watt.
  15. Is it worth it for 150-170€ (inc post)? Having the ability to power anything (100W and less) is really appealing. Has fast charging too (mandatory for newer devices that have the ability to fast charge).
  16. I used that combo a few days ago. Balanced ok, but it wasn't a perfect match. I would be looking for a more appropriate gimbal for that camera, but when it worked, it was ok. We tried the normal mode, and on a monopod, we couldn't change the angle by hand (you know, when you touch the camera and stays) and even with the slightest change in lenses needed re-adjustment. I am sure Weebill will work, it has too, the market for a P4K gimbal will be significant, for the Chinese manufacturers to pass. What about the Ronin S and the Tilta?
  17. I have used the camera a few times, honestly we could have been used the C100 for the same projects. My friend that owns it, doesn't even have CF cards or shoot raw, ever. This is a very expensive camera for what it does in my opinion (at least at some European countries). In the pro market here most buy FS7ii or C300mkII (not too many).I would be looking at one of those, or even EVA/Ursa mini pro, the P4K seems to cover my needs in a very low price range.
  18. Thank you! It is already in Canada, I do not have the camera yet, so I am in no hurry! Just start building the set.
  19. Sorry, but have no time to watch all those videos, what is the consensus? My friend in Canada received a couple of days ago the Aputure Dec for me. Now I have to go to ?? and bring it back to ??!
  20. It is not like the camera is free, it is almost 1500€ (inc VAT) here, add a powering solution, some media and a cage and it goes easily above 2000€, and then you build from there. It is a bargain, I agree, but it is not free. Also, we have the right to criticize, or else it is a dictatorship!
  21. Just can't believe how cheap this camera feels in the hand! I used also my good ol' NX1s, which I believe have the best grip and ergonomics, and are extremely well build and robust, and the difference is huge. Maybe someone should take the insides and make a proper re-housing with a proper F battery instead of the Canon, which is no fun while in the middle of a shooting. It was very stressful last night. The grip is kinda awkward as well,it lives better on grips and gimbals. I wonder how long the buttons n dials will last Maybe it is wiser to see the industry responds and/or the braw implementation first.
