  1. @Anaconda_ The US site says that it is on "pre order" status. Do not think is available, or will ever be.
  2. Fuji have their own great lenses that will focus faster and communicate better than any other adapted lens, ever. BlackMagic doesn't make any lenses ? !!
  3. @lucabutera this is an open letter to anyone, but to Luca more specifically. I am sure a lot of us will be, or are interested in, buying the new BlackMagic Pocket 4K, and already are planning their accessories and lenses. My question is, is it possible to adapt NX lenses to the Pocket 4K? It is seriously a shame to put all those great lenses to a closet and buying Tamron and Sigma EF ones.
  4. This a m43 camera with an EF mount?? What's the point? And EF are usually too big for such a small camera. Do not really get it.
  5. @BTM_Pix what are the differences between this and the latest version? Do you believe it worths the hassle to deliver it from a US address?
  6. Is it? What are the other options? Metabones and N for a total of 1000?
  7. IBIS is not a panacea. It is different than lens IS or a tripod. I like some lenses to have IS for run n gun and what not. It is very interesting that you suggest the cheap Tamron, how good is the IS? And the touch focus? The NX 16-50S is 2-2.8f, so it is wider, equally fast in the same focal lengths and a lot more tele, while its stabilization is very very good. 18-35mm is very limited for run n gun.
  8. These Koreans have excellent style and posture! I thought the Weebill would be P4K ready, I do not like all these mods to make a very modern and recent gimbal to work. I will be waiting for the official release, but I believe they will have something ready for it very soon. They are also from the same continent (the Weebill bird and the Black Magic company), so they have to figure it out!
  9. A very light setup could need extra weight, and other (re-) arrangements to stabilize sufficiently. That applies to every mounting method (tripods, monopods, sliders, e.t.c)
  10. Max was a guy doing some basic wedding's videos. He is an ok figure and I believe he is trying to offer some knowledge, but nothing special, and certainly not a completely independent thought. Can't even bother with his videos. Most youtube personas have nothing to do with real life videography, and real life, in general.
  11. Dji ronin s is "huge and heavy" ( = well, not really, but you get what I mean) and Crane 2 also. Weebill is 300-3000g and 1.3Kg, the next tier is from 4.6 (Crane 3) to 6Kg (next Moza). An example of random new mirrorless full frame reality. The Nikon Z7 is 675gr (including batteries and memory card) and the Nikon Z 24-70mm 4f is 500gr, that is 1.5Kg (lightly rigged). A speedbooster is 170gr, a lens could be from 150gr to a kilo, how much the P4K weights? Can't seem to find that info anywhere but can't be heavier, or mich heavier than the Z7, so we are talking for 2Kg here, so well into the 300-3000gr limits. Now, for people consider rig-ing an EVA or FS5, then yes, buy the bigger one, and good luck holding it for more than a few dozens of seconds!
  12. I am bored of the traditional designs. I used the Crane 2 a week ago, going up and down, left and right for 90minutes, and my arm still hurts! I love low angle shots, and the traditional designs are not comfortable. Tilta Nano will be great also.
  13. Weebill for me, or Air X, but..Weebill!
  14. Benro is good. Have been reliable for years. The older E-Image were really crap, impressive for the money at starts, completely fallen apart after a year or two (depending the use). I am reading better reviews for the newer ones though. I decided that my next one will be tue Sachtler Flowtech. I am pondering about the Ace XL head or the FSB6. I am not even sure I need something good as the FSB, but the Ace feels cheap to the feel, and use. It all depends on my next camera buy. If I am buying a bigger camera (C100mkIII) then I should go for the FSB, If I am buying just the pocket, then the Ace should do the job. Edit: not friend of Manfrotto. Some are ok for the money though. @IronFilm it is 133$, just buy it already! On the other hand, I am just _ _ that close to bite the bullet for the CS-1M!!
  15. Thank you @Emanuel ! All I am saying is that Z have to improve their efforts. The more players in the market, the better cameras we will have sooner. I am wondering how many from this forum bought their previous camera full price, or on B&H sale though..
  16. From those silly/cheap/fake Sony zoom lenses (which work well, with everything corrected in-camera) to Zeiss primes. The most successful cameras these days must be the FS7i and ii though. Most TV series are using those. In the one I am working currently for a major network (doing sound), we have 2x2 FS7ii with the latest Sony 18-110mm. One of the biggest productions here is using C300mkII with the Canon primes, but Sony dominates right now. I have to add that I prefer working with Canon C cameras (ergonomics, menu, skin tones) but most production companies buy Sony.
  17. I do! Can not wish for an even better camera soon-ish, though? S35 is something we do for decades l, do not forget. I just express some personal thoughts, I know what the Pocket4K is, and is probably the best deal in video making, ever and I have expressed those views in other posts too.
  18. Ursa is too big! I have expressed my opinion about my most preferred camera, a Canon C100 mini/XC something, with XC15 form factor, EF-M mount and improved ergonomics for 2-3000€, and then Canon released the C200 which is almost a 10.000€ camera, and realized that Canon don't really gets it. While C100 and C300 dominated the market for years, FS5 and FS7 cameras have been the norm in most productions I am working lately, and BM is starting to be relative in productions. After the R release, I do not expect anything of them, and I have to move on with a plan B. So, right now, it is Sony, or BM, and I do not particularly like the FS5 or the Ursa that much to spend 6-8.000€ for one of those. So, I would rather spend 3.000€ to rig a Pocket4K at the moment! I do not like adapters, and m43 sensors, the specific dual ISO - slightly bigger - sensor offsets makes it more appealing for a video camera (I would never use a small megapixel camera for pro photography), but still I would spend double the money for an S35 small video camera. If BM can make an amazing m43 one for 1350€, why not a similar one S35 for 2499 or 2999€??!! Still it would be half the price, and size, of Ursa.
  19. I will probably buy the camera, but I do too would prefer a more XC-esque design. It is one of the best small video designs lately. The battery too is not sufficient for its intended use, this is a fact and everyone agrees. There are workarounds ofcourse, but those add to size, weight and cost, in peculiar ways. A little critique can lead to better products. On the other hand, the silly comments of not being able to put a flashgun on one, doesn't add credit to their authors.
  20. Yes, it works better. Do not know why either.
  21. Are you pretending to not understand what I am talking about, or are we talking for casual family and friends photo/video taking? We are talking about a pro grade workhorse lens, that means the best characteristics of the mount and the best light gathering for a zoom, like we are doing for years with the L series lenses in Canon, par example and such series. All of those have flaws. The one to get is the 16-55, but has no IS, the others are lesser XC lenses, and 18mm doesn't cut it to me because of the 28-30mm equiv. (not so wide) and the non constant aperture, but I agree (for the third time) is a great kit lens for the price, but we are not talking kit lenses here. I am mentioning the 16-80mm, because it will be the newest design (I am expecting better/faster AF), best IS, and the extra mm at the tele end maybe can make one forget that it is an 4f APS-C lens, and not a constant 2.8f. 10-24mm is interesting - I lov'em ultra wide - but is not tele enough to be on a camera for most jobs (ceremonies, weddings, performances e.t.c) while 77mm at the tele end (instead of 36-37mm), can offer you the chance for portraits, more detailed shots, and can be cropped reasonably e.t.c e.t.c What is the point of having 7 zoom lenses, covering similar focal lengths and not 1 great workhorse zoom? The NX 16-50mm 2-2.8f is glued on one of my NX1 cameras, if I need another lens, I am changing cameras (I have a second NX1) altogether. Last week I shot a performance and used the aforementioned S lens, the 12-24mm, the 50-200mm and the fish eye (which Fuji doesn't offer as an option, so 2 lenses I need and use constantly are not been offered by the system).
  22. The interesting fact with this sensor (that applies to GH5S as well) is the X1.2 form factor with the widest possible speed booster. I believe this is good enough for most people, FF lovers and - nothing ever in focus - people included. The work flow around this fact is the most interesting part. Which lenses work well and which ones with limitations, and what limitations are those? The Fuji MK lens could be a great combo, imagine if one could have the X-T3 and the P4K as their other cam and can put the MK on both cameras, that brings another dimension to the whole "X-T3 vs P4K" conversation! The other part of the process is the run n gun approach. A couple of native zooms with IS and touch AF are mandatory. If one owns the X-T3 or any other modern hybrid, can use that other cam for r n gunning or very light and fast turn around projects anyway
  23. @noone wow! you took it to another level! I found the segment from the Max's video. Obviously is a couple of years old, but the trends should be similar. I would like to know the P4K's measurements. The only thing keeping me from buying the P4K is the lack of real world experiences (as of now) and the fear of the small sensor. My preferable one is an APS-C.
  24. I agree, is a cheap and good kit lens, but If I am buying a new hybrid system I want some specific lenses for pro work, and a stabilized 16-50mm isn't available yet. Also, some more modern designs (faster AF, IS) on older lenses. The new 16-80 4f could be it, but an 2.8f would be much more desirable. In any way, I am waiting the reviews of that lens, and if it is very good for the price, then it could be a killer combo with the cheap X-T3. Do not care for IBIS, but IS on lenses is mandatory. Hey, it is a Greek flag at your back!
  25. Max did a chart a couple of years ago and the most accurate was Samsung NX, while m43 were the least. I am at work now, when I am going back to my base I could find the chart somewhere.
