  1. I am affraid the P4K and every modern camera is going to outsell this by the thousands, or even dozens of thousands. It is just too expensive for this new world of cameras, needs a lot more rigging than any other camera - and more (expensive) accessories to make it work out of the box - while it is not the only H265 offering in town (NX1 and X-T3 do too) and BRAW is coming to most BM cameras, which it can be a game changer in the industry. This is going to be vaporware. I envy the US customers that would buy this for 699€ in a year or two from B&H!
  2. 100%. Internal ND are mandatory, not so much the SDI. Really surprising that BM didn't borrow any of the XC design. How's the low light performance vs some other cameras you have used?
  3. It means that the Sony A is a very succesfull Sony range of products (with 7 cameras and many many lenses and accessories) and the JVC LS300 is a very successful JVC camera. It means exactly that.
  4. There were some significant issues with the JVC LS300. It isn't like it was the best camera ever, and noone bought it. Also, they must have sold quite a few. It is the most common JVC camera around here for sure. Do we even know the name of any other recent JVC camera?! I don't. Edit: it sure is broadcast.
  5. Yes! I am still waiting for a C100mkIII. For the money and the specs (and the lack of a C100mkIII!) will gladly "downgrade" to the P4K. Ideally a S35 sensored camera would be my next buy, but do not see it happen.
  6. A lot of working professionals earn their bread with GH5 all around the world. It is a beast of a video camera and can do lower speced photo jobs. The camera records continuous video in many bitrates and flavors, have IBIS (which is great for some people), good ergonomics and the such, unlimited lens selection and speed boosted stuff, does not overheat or any of these e.t.c I didn't buy it, and I wouldn't, but it is a video (mostly) and photo machine that brings bread in the table. A lot better than any other recent camera (before 2018) of that type (XT-2, other m43, a6xx series, Canonikon e.t.c).
  7. Exactly! That is why I am keeping my NX system for now (4 cameras/8 lenses), buying a video camera, and see how the full frame wars pan out and change hyrid system on a year or two.
  8. @Alex Uzan me too! No worries! I have 4 hybrid cameras, so I am in the market for a dedicated video camera. X-T3 is an amazing camera, the target groups of those cameras are very far apart. Most of the video professionals in my country are talking about buying one, so I am pretty sure this will be the best selling BM camera. I find the 3" camera screens unusable anyway, especially under the ultra bright Mediterranean sun, and the boom of the 5" monitor/recording market says a lot.
  9. Are you serious?! 15 hours ago I replied to the same question. Check it out.
  10. 5" monitor/recorder with XLR, usb C recording, equal or better low light performance than most APS-C cameras in the market and on top of that a video camera as a bonus! You went for the X-T3. "- Poor battery life (40min is not acceptable)" - Fuji is similar or worst "- Drop frame in raw 4k60 (!)" - Fuji isn't even close to that, certainly no raw at all "- No way to use a powerbank and a SSD" - no way to use an SSD on any other camera. Period. "- No Ibis, and Im ok with that since I have a Gimbal, but with no afc (even a bad one like GH5) it will be painful to use" - Fuji certainly has no IBIS.Zone focus. "- The design with the hole on top for ventilation scares me a little for durability." - all video cameras have extensive heat management solutions "- No remote control compatibility with any gimbal (but that could change)" - that will change "- The 120p crop" - yes, stupid, but in 4 years I have used my hybrid system in 120p just in one project. "- No tilt screen ( I don't care about fully articully)" - at least it has a 5" display, others too small and dim anyway. I am using SmallHD Focus with everything.
  11. Haha! I'm good for now. Maybe the Sanken CS-M1 with a Cinela Cosi later (almost a 1500$ investment) and then I am staying put for a little while. Still can't decide on a bag that I need right now. I am split between Orca 28, and Porta brace AO-ZoomF8S, or should I bite the bullet and go for a Stingray Small/Orca 30??!! The latter are double the money, and I am not sure I need so much space (Zoom F8/and a few Sony UWP with a F970 battery). I need some lights, as I do 50% sound - 30% video - 10% photos and 10% others(!).
  12. @DBounce those 2 lenses are an extra reason to go to Fuji-land I must admit. Is it possible to speed-boost it on an P4K I wonder? Another great combo is the C100/C200mkII and the 18-80. Everything works great on another level (a lot of extra electronics inside the lens working great and give another dimension, especially for run and gun).
  13. The 10-24mm is. The most interesting Fuji zoom for me.
  14. Still haven't figure out a good, portable and versatile lighting setup. If I have 2-2.500€/$ (which I haven't at the moment because I keep buying sound stuff!) to spend on lighting, what do you guys suggest? I am eyeing the Godox's mainly because they are the only ones I can find locally (for tax reasons I have to buy some things locally), but I am not 100% sold from what I read on line.
  15. I love the XC form factor, they can make it an M mount camera, and that would be a huge success, combined with the ultra cheap lenses for that mount. And they adapt easily to EF (electronics are the same).
  16. @Andrew Reid what about the Samsung 16-50mm S lens vs the Fuji? I have been spoiled with the 2-2.8f range and the very good IS of that lens, and I believe it is even smaller and lighter (and since I already own it, free!) than the 16-55mm. Still undecided to upgrade my hybrid system, maybe I am going to wait it out a couple more years and purchase a video camera before do that.
  17. Favorite zoom 12-100 Olympus.
  18. I am saying this for years. Let's stop pretendind and create a super video camera on a hybrid form. A dual ISO 35 sensor a la JVC LS300 would be the sensor to end all video sensors! BM4K solve 2 basic issues with the 5" monitor and the mini xlr, the other - and most important in my opinion is an e-ND and that's it. That is why a lot of us are so excited about the PK4K, not so much of the specific camera (but still in top of my shopping list for Xmass!), but mainly because is a new type of camera, something a Canon XC camera with an M mount could be, or maybe a Nikon V (stands for video!) could have been, or an advanced H-X1 (that will come, but they have to short a lot of issues). Ibis is not mandatory in such a camera, but definitely an added bonus. Let's forget about the S, and produce an F-mini of sorts. The A7iii is good enough for an S camera (low light is almost as good but better hybrid camera).
  19. Are we going to -remotely- see any of these?!
  20. I have lost a whole project because of the infamous 2017-18cc bug, 2 days before my deadline, plus unlimited little things (recently I had to rename my video files on another well known bug) e.t.c
  21. A few months ago, I was shooting with a GH5, and when I asked the -60 years old, mind you - director to set a tripod first, he was really surprised, and didn't like the delay at all! Manual focus is still the best way to control focus and express a lot of notions and emotions. Second best? Touch focus. I am a bit annoyed when people suddenly can't shoot without IBIS/C-AF and less than 200.00ISO cameras.
  22. It seems like the Z cameras are a little bit better than the A7 ones, and Fuji's a lot better than the a6xx ones. What is going on with Sony? Are they becoming a sensor's manufacturer? Something similar happened to Samsung and their chipset (took over from Intel, mainly because of the memory sub-division) division.
  23. This is a moving images capturing machine. If anyone cares for a hybrid camera is in the wrong thread. GH5S isn't a good photo taking machine either, but it takes pictures for sure. I thought this is a hard fact clearly understood by everyone already. My hybrid cameras do ok 120fps and in 4 years I have used it just once. My favorite "money making tool", C100 do not either. I used to work in advertising operating specialized high speed cameras, and as YOU mentioned on a little while ago, can't stand slow motion videos at all anymore! In other specilized circumstances we used to rent the FS700, as you already mentioned! Also the AF in my pro video work consists of less than 5% (maybe less than 3%!), even though I work with very good hybrid AF and C100mkII/C300mkII cameras most of the time. The GH AF is not something to talk about, not a strong Panasonic selling point anyway.
