Greeks do agree here! Honestly, bringing the P4k into the same conversation with the C200 says more for Canon than BM, and it is no good. C200 is still in no man's land, and it costs 9000euros here. BM is exhibiting how a enthousiast's/hobbyist camera is done, while Canon how a pro camera isn't.. Edit: GH5S is the best cheap Panasonic video camera in my opinion. I am not sure that the comparison is bad for the P4K.

However you see it Crane was a revolution for gimbals, they are going head to head versus DJI. This is very interesting, I may choose between those 2 next year. Crane 2 and Ronin S are too big for my needs.

That makes perfect sense, with similar money of 1 full frame mirrorless you buy an APS-C one and a specialized video camera with raw! I am interested in the high ISO department, and how you will match 2 completely different cameras/sensors/color science. Enjoy your excellent 2 new "toys"!

@A_Urquhart check the Focus. Is absolutely the smallest, lightest and brightest cheap monitor there is (I wish it was even smaller, by the way). The touch screen interface is just brilliant. There is an argument being maybe for the Atomos as well, but if you do not need the recorder (like I didn't), then Focus is the best, if you need a small recorder, then the Atomos V is the first to consider.

Same here (Greece), especially for destination videography (1 person usually doing drone or 3rd camera on occasion). I also know people charging as much going only with an ultra cheap assistant, charging almost only for their marketing campaigns.

@Mattias Burling certainly, we are all ready for your 1.500 Canon cameras from day one.
-
I am using such to all my cameras. Someone will make a specialized one for the Pocket, for sure. Try something like a semi-matte or else you are loosing too much detail. I can not see my Focus replaced by anything soon. I worked mid day on hard Mediterranean sun all summer without a hood, and it is the smallest and lighter that there is (hopefully was even smaller, but staying 5") and great battery consumption also. Did you try touch focus AF? Does it have settings you can adjust and make it seem like rack focus? I honestly prefer working with native lenses, a speedboosted 18-35mm is not appealing to me at all. Very short range for a workhorse zoom and too front heavy on m43 cameras I have used it.

@Mattias Burling I remember you bringing such paradigms quite often in the past, which do not apply in other markets, and I have lived in 4 different countries in my life. I do remember finding some great NX deals in local Swedish adds (I have very good friends living there), so some of them can be possible, but some of them are just unbelievable! "Impose" is a rather strong word, I take that back, but I was writing in a hurry and I am not a native speaker. It's all good.
-
They also offer the longest warranty in the whole industry. Koreans started as a low cost solution but now they make some of the most reliable cars in business. In another note, from Mattias words I understand that Swedish market is unique and it doesn't match most things I know from other markets. He shouldn't try to impose his views as the norm though. Nowhere else in the world a camera will loose such a big percentage of its value in day one, and maybe nowhere in the world a shop will buy a camera you bought from them in the same value - actually those two contradict one another - first the shop loose 400-600€ fron day one, but after 6 months buys the same camera as high as was new 6 months ago? What are they? Charity?

Too many mounts! There is no way all these eco systems to be financially sustainable for many years, and quite obviously everything moves to full frame (or maybe medium format for Fuji and Pentax) at the top, and a smaller sensor (APS-C or m43) at the lower tier. Olympus will need someone to partner with, going alone in this new world is scary, they may have a 3-4 years advantage in their R&D departments, but they are last to the party (if they are, at all), Sony and Canonikon (the biggest players) already have a presence in the markets. The trend is definitely full frame format and we will see video cameras too, as they could handle cooling (heat is the enemy-not processing power) much better than water resistant small mirrorless bodies. Prices have gone down, and competition will bring them lower and lower. New mounts could possible bring lighter and smaller lenses too (pancakes, small PZ), bodies are already small enough (too small in some instances and for longer zooms and some pro work), if they can work around lenses designs could bring smaller sensors to extinction. We only have to see Olympus and Pentax and then we have all the picture. Worst move so far is from Canon, their next mirrorless cameras will surprass this one quite easily, and as soon as next year probably, the fact that they finally did their move is the key factor here, they are the industry leaders by far, they can afford to stay back a bit technologically, for now.. Nikon proposals seem quite ok to me, so far Z6 seem like the best option in the new world, they need a year or two to go all in also. PanaSigmaLeica will give as much as they can next spring, no doubt about it, and we have to see what Fuji will do. Even though they have the best Fuji ever, in X-T3, in this year of the new mounts, maybe this camera isn't enough to move the needle drastically. 2 years ago it would have been the hit of the market, in 2019, not so much. Everything is going the mirrorless way, in a couple of years all these mounts will have at least a cheap model, a high resolution one, and a pro model for sports photography e.t.c Maybe add a smaller body to carry around (and replace smaller sensored cameras) and maybe a curiosity (or video specialized hybrid) here and there, and we will have at least a dozen of full frame mirrorless bodies to choose from! The deciding factor for me will be the native lenses, I want to see a few pancakes, native fish eye, and a few innovations (maybe a smaller 24-70 as a workhorse lens, or ideally a 16-50mm 2.8f, or a 16-70mm 2.8f with no focus breathing e.t.c). Olympus could do that, but they need a strategic partner to offer them technology and processing power, Sony has all that in house and something like 5 years a head start.

Just for historical reasons, I remember reading interviews from Fuji execs (one was in DPR I believe) that they were following what Samsung was doing and they were humbled by the processing power and technological solutions of NX system. I believe that Fuji were most happy after Samsung abandoned the market. X-T3 is a huge leap forward since the X-T2, not even close.

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???

What are the specs? -
What is your impression? Is it worth it? Mavic 2 vs Phantom 4 pro?

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???

It will take a year or two to see the whole market unfolded completely. Meanwhile, I invest in everything (Edelkrone, tripods, sound - a lot of it) than cameras. -
How cheap the X-H1 will be? If it won't go much lower than 1000euros, the X-T3 is a vastly superior camera for 1549euros only, and brand new. This is a landmark camera in the long history of Fuji, it will stay relevant for at least half a decade from now.
-
A Greek engineer on a ?? ?? camera?!! I remember reading interviews from Fuji personnel some years ago and they were almost "scared" or "humbled" of the NX processing power, the huge leap from previous Fuji cameras to the XT-3 could be explained with only a significant partening, and it can only be Samsung.
-
It will be interesting to hear some comments about GH5/s vs the X-T3. Definitely much better in the photo side of things. I care also about batteries, ergonomics, e.t.c

I do not know anyone that sold his/hers GH5. All the people I know that bought A7iii are people that upgraded from previous A7 or a6xx cameras. There are some that complaint about the photo side of the GH5 and I do see them changing sooner or later. In my point of view it is a videocentric camera, not a complete hybrid. -
Someone has to eat his hat, claiming 1000nits OLED for 300$.
-
Who the hell is this guy?! I am feeling @Andrew Reid 100% but let's be the wiser forum and move on! I was considering keeping my hybrid NX system and buying this one for specific projects and what not (incredible deal coupled with the editing license), but after all the new releases throwing 10bit on bigger sensors and 10bit H265 (X-T3) I am sceptical if it really worths the 2000+euros (accessories, batteries, media e.t.c) investment for a project or two per year. 6 months ago was the deal of the century, right now, not so much, especially if someone (Panasonic? Sony A7s? Nikon?) give some kind of external raw. I do not want to sound blasphemous, but a lower price may be more appropriate for 2019.
-
Fuji just announced that the official pricing will be 1549euros. Much better than the previous price of 1749. This is going to be too much a camera for the money. Competition finally works!
-
Not at all. Not even close. The only one is a half stop or similar in high iso (for video), there is litteraly nothing else that the X-T2 has the advantage. The X-T3 is a completely different beast.
