  1. Because until the X-T3 the NX1 was the best pro APS-C mirrorless camera in the market, and finally there is a contender.
  2. Personally I have the 16-50S glued on one of my NX1 cameras, my argument was that is a stabilized workhorse zoom and the similar Fuji isn't, while in the wide end it is 2f, which offsets - somehow and not completely ofcourse - that is the Achilles heal of the NX - the advantage of the X-T3 in higher ISO. The X-T3 seems like an amazing APS-C camera, definitely the best APS-C right now. The 10bit H265 is finally here too which is amazing for me. The specs are brilliant. The question for us NX users, is if the year of the new mounts and full frame mirrorless is it wise to sell everything, and move on to something, or wait out this year and see how the market shapes. The asking price of 1750euros in my European country doesn't make the decision easier. 1499 would be milder.
  3. As I said back then the X-H1 was a lost cause, almost full of disadvantages. I am pretty positive that most X-H1 owners have to sell extremely low to get rid of a much bigger, heavier and a lot worst camera than the X-T3. These Fuji lenses are great but no AF and no IS, and the size..I want to buy a hybrid camera, not a cine one and I would prefer a 16mm for my workhorse lens. The similar (to the NX S) Fuji is the 16-55 which is not stabilized at all. Maybe they have to bring a newer version to the market, the competition is greater now. I don't care much for IBIS, but a stabilized lens do the job for me. The great news is that H265 becomes mainstream. This is a huge release for Fuji, but among huge releases from almost everyone is loosing its shine a bit, the reduction in price is a good move (we have to see if that affected build quality thought) but if the reduction is lesser in some countries they are loosing the advantage, and the A7iii is showing the way for a "cheap" modern (full frame) and true hybrid mirrorless.
  4. The price for Greece is 1749euros, that is not close to 1499$ at all, and the camera is manufactured in China. I would expect a lower starting price, this is not 2017! It probably has the most desired specs for me, but I believe I can squeeze another year from my NX1 cameras. There is no equal to the 16-50S, which is my main workhorse for some years now.
  5. Yep, I know, I mostly certainly will buy one soon-ish, I would like to see some aerial footage first and try the 10bit, a bit!
  6. Does anyone has some flying footage to share? I am editing some Mavic footage right now and it is really terrible in most ways.
  7. Where is the LS500?! Not the LS300mkII but an upper tier camera.
  8. Not sure about that, your beard is your trademark!
  9. Like some of us said, XH-1 was a lost cause and a waste of money. It was too obvious. Does the X-T3 uses the same battery as the X-T2? The specs are just amazing, and the pricing right. 10. Read https://www.google.gr/amp/s/www.techhive.com/article/3239350/smart-tv/will-hdr-kill-your-oled-tv.amp.html "With standard dynamic range (SDR) video, we saw a maximum of 170 nits from Sony’s Bravia XBR65A1E OLED TV. While displaying HDR video, that leaped up to 700 nits" High nits, OLED and cheap is not do-able yet.
  11. Seriously? How many nits the 3000$ OLED LG TVs have?
  12. I really love my NX 45mm 1.8f lens, even in that lens I sometimes have to stop down to bring some shapes into form. I seriously do not get all these new 2f zoom and 0.95f full frame primes, when you have excellent new, and very sensitive sensors. For specialized uses I welcome their existence, just do not care for so much additional size and weight, and money (cost).
  13. That is super cheap! The Sanken are around 500-600euros here, and the entry level ones - any good brand - have at least a 3 digit starting price. Are they prone to handling/clothing noise? do you use Tram accessories for them? Cheers.
  14. You own some OscarS if I am right. What is your impression of them, what did they cost?
  15. Sennheiser G system is a wireless system, they are entry level and usually come with entry level Senn lav mics which are a lot of tiers worst than the other ones you mentioned. On a wireless system you can plug whatever lav mic you want and I would definitely go with the Sanken ones (personal preference of course) if I could afford them right now. One good and cheap-er solution is the http://www.oscarsoundtech.com I am considering them to replace my entry level Sony lavs that came with my Sony wireless system. You can drop them an email if you'd like, they are superfriendly but it is a small company, so allow a few days for reply.
  16. It is disappointing for sure. Actually, they have changed/add a thing or two, and the price is equal, or less to the Chinese product, so they did alright there, but they promised the app as well. Right now I can't use it at all, and I am not interested on any other use. I just hope a 3rd party app will show up and save the day!
  17. Even if only 2 experienced engineers and 1 color specialist influenced the decisions on DJI, that would be an improvement from the 20s-30s something Chinese engineers and software makers. It is a good move for both of them, DJI offers innovation, capital and networking, Hasselblad offers knowledge, experience and a heavy history. DJI can make Hass. a pop icon. https://www.google.gr/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2017/1/10/14213742/dji-acquire-majority-stake-hasselblad-drone-camera
  18. The only Fuji camera I "respect" in its specific tier is X-T20, so obviously is not the golden standard, it is just an example. Another example is the approach of Panasonic for the GH5, they took the decision to produce one of the biggest and heavier mirrorless cameras ever, so they could create an overspeced video "monster". Does not humidity and overheating affect electronics? I live on a European country and I spend a lot of money for dehumidifiers (Pingi are great for small places). Especially in sound, humidity can affect top microphones from the likes of Schoeps, DPA, Sanken, Neumann and others (some of the most expensive brands in the world), that is why most of us hold at least one Sennheiser 416 in our arsenal, and it is the microphone of choice for tropical/jungle documentaries. Also a lot of microphones are coming with wooden cases, or others, that absorb humidity.
  19. From Thein Ming himself About Hasselblad connection. "However, the idea of a ‘Hasselblad’ camera is not just medium format – it’s accurate color and tonal reproduction with the most appropriate components at various points in the imaging chain, from lenses to sensor to image processing algorithms and circuitry. We are a small company and will never claim to make the chips ourselves – that’s just not economically possible. But the secret sauce lies in tying it all together, which can be done at many format sizes " About making a standalone camera as small that can be used on a handheld gimbal "Not quite that simple: gimbals are most effective with lower moving mass; this means everything that does not have to move (i.e. everything apart from sensor and lens) is in the body of the drone – that’s processing, power and some of the gimbal motors. It cannot be that small…" My comment: heat is very important.
  20. So so true, X-T20 must be the most desirable Fuji camera of its specific segment. @mercer I know you had the NX500, I was referring of course to its form factor and ergonomics, not the camera per se. H1 and GH5 are equal, or bigger than some full frame dSLRs. Test the actual photo quality of m43 cameras YOURSELF.
  21. X-H1 was a lost cause since the beginning. If the X-T3 arrives for the rumoured price ofess than 1500$ (and it should), and the next H1 after that, the X-H1 will cost less than discontinued cameras. Do not know any Fuji user that wants to buy that camera, or did.. Nikon is not Fuji though, there is a strong market base behind them, and a strong and knowledgeable photo tradition.
  22. If a Fuji or other brand had such an issue, the reaction would be very different. Sony has an "under the carpet" mentality to various issues through the years. The first thing they did when their a6xxx overheated was to change the thermal threshold and warn you to not touch the camera, Fuji from the other hand limited the video time limit and adviced on the use of the battery grip (obviously it transfered some heat from the battery compartment further away to the grip) a minus on the spec sheet, but a more honest and respectful approach to their customers.
  23. If it has a De Sica/Antonioni/Fellini programmable button, I can wait for years and years! If the Z6/Z7 is a good indication, and after their "partnering" with Atomos, I believe Nikon could deliver a worthy videocentric camera. I have to use one first though (Z6/Z7, not the 8!), ergonomics are a very important factor, and battery life of course.
