  1. Do we know anything about the sensor/lens combo?
  2. Even "poor" professionals (like me I guess, if you compare salaries in "poor" European south, with Scandinavia and San Francisco) spend thousands of euros for their equipment per year, casual shooters are ok with a cheap kit, and/or their phones. The industry is moving to higher tiers. We are talking mostly about A cameras here, but axxx Sony cameras has sold extremely well, they just do not offer a great margin for profit (especially their ecosystem). Most people I know with an a6xxx camera are buying a kit with the 16-50 and they are done, while most people starting with an A7x version I, have moved to II and now III, while buying expensive full frame lenses too. Sony were spot on when they offered the cheap A7 (i,ii and iii) version along the more specialized S and R ones. Brilliant tactic, that will keep them ahead of the curve even after the Canonikon releases, but the most distant future will bring more drama for sure.
  3. Your upload bigger than your dl?! That is crazy fast. You have to pay up to 100-200euros for such a connection (for uploading) here, and the average salary is 650euros per month. I guess Vietnam is more "civilized" than most of Europe! S. Korea, Japan and the Netherlands have the fastest internet connections in the world right now. I guess some big Scandinavian cities must be at the top 5-10. I am sure in the future everything will be cloud based, just is a bit early for that yet. Sorry for the off topic.
  4. It's difficult to follow @kye' s reasoning, especially when he sees it 100% from a "naive"-spec orientated - whatever his job is - approach. Real pro life is vastly different than looking specs on tables and press releases of, not yet proven companies. What I see in this forum is the vast difference in approach between professionals and semi-pros to amateurs. You can say whatever you want - and you can be right too, but when your family's life and yours is at stake everyday in the field, you have a more conservative approach and you need proven and working solutions. I have worked with most of the Sony cameras through 2 decades of professio al life, and I never owned one. One difference I could see happening is the direct uploading of photos, or something like this, and an editor manipulate/deliver instantly to the client/agency.
  5. @BTM_Pix Ronin S can do, especially with the 2 handed bar! It is really an overkill for my NX1+16-50S, the Crane 2 also. I am trying to down size, and every year we add more and more equipment to our shootings! I will be expecting the next Crane generation, the original design is a bit outdated these days.
  6. Where do you live? Central Seoul?! I doubt more than 1% of the total population of humans fit this description.
  7. Haha! Where is the "haha" icon! I hated the down vote, but the "thanks" and laughing one had some use! Seriously thought, as someone that spend 5 wonderful years in UK studying and working, and still having plenty of friends there (Greeks, English and other nationalities), I hated the Brexit decision, I believe it weakens UK and Europe significantly, both in markets and geopolitical issues, but I am sure you will overcome it rather easily. Just it won't be the same again. Some of my friends have moved to Scotland, Netherlands, Germany and other countries already, while there is a Big Brother-ish record of all non "natives"(??!!), even though most of my friends working at, or for Universities, and have spend a dozen or more years in the country, they are treated as potential unwanted persons. For us with EU registered businesses, it is much easier and some times profitable to order from registered EU shops. Before Brexit I was buying 90-95% from UK stores, now the oppossite, and I have spend almost 20 good thousands of euros in equipment the last 2-3 years (imagine that I had finished "collecting" my extensive NX collection before that!), and I am a very small and insignificant customer, the loss must be already substantial.
  8. Since I bought me first NX1 I never looked back. Now that Canon and Nikon will play the game, mirrorless slowly but steady will replace most traditional ILCs. In 10 years time I dare to predict most ILCs (a huge percentage, not 52/48%!) will be mirrorless, easily. After that, we will see the next evolution to video/photography that I am not sure what will be. .
  9. I am not sure what "civilised" means, but in southern EU I have 50Mbps/5Mbps, theoritically ofcourse, impossible to reach those numbers except maybe inside the service provider's main building, for 40€ per month (+landline) and I know for certain that in Canada plenty of people still have limited usage rate. For daily and super fast use physical solutions are still King.
  10. It was, it is, and it will always be a great time to be alive! Ask all the dead people through the ages.
  11. It is more about time than space. Also, even in some pretty low budget jobs, I may shoot to the thousands, multiply that to a few dozen jobs per year, add some video work, and double (I do triple) for backup purposes and voila, terrabytes!
  12. Greece belongs to the European Union for too many years now. You can buy from Germany or other countries with better selection and lower prices. You still can buy from U.K also, until Brexit.
  13. https://m.ebay.com/itm/3-5-HDMI-1920x1080-LCD-Display-Screen-for-Raspberry-Pi-w-clear-Case-Heatsink-/352309147649?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20150519202348%26meid%3D6f88f017b67d4d26ade094fe6f4397c9%26pid%3D100408%26rk%3D10%26rkt%3D25%26sd%3D382095336786%26itm%3D352309147649&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460 This is not exactly the same, as I bought it from amazon.de, but this is the case, and probably the same monitor too (I believe they are all made by 1 factory in China, they have many options, form 3.5" up to whatever). https://m.ebay.com/itm/Pocket-Slim-Power-Bank-Portable-USB-Charger-Credit-Card-sized-For-Mobile-Phone/401551817356?epid=10011033535&hash=item5d7e5a7a8c%3Am%3Amim9hIz-9Xj0IbYR8U4DNTQ&var=671272107951&_nkw=Credit+card+usb+power+bank&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m4084.l1313&varId=671272107951 This is the power bank that fits inside the case (there are a few ways to stick it , or even glue it there). And everything is connected with a mobile phone tripod mount (mine cost something like 3$, but you can have better ones, even one like this https://m.ebay.com/itm/Ulanzi-ST-02S-Metal-Cell-Phone-Tripod-Mount-with-Cold-Shoe-Adapter-Clamp-Rig/153006104930?hash=item239fdfe162%3Ag%3AxVQAAOSwOhNa6bOE&_pgn=2&_nkw=Mobile+phone+cold+shoe+adaptor&_from=R40&rt=nc ). Then you can have a tripod thread female to cold shoe, for putting it straight on camera, or whatever you'd like. Again, it is ok as a small project as color accuracy and brightness aren't on our side, but the size and price, are! My next project would be to stick a generic viewfinder loupe there, or something.
  14. I have build one of those to pair with my NX500 set-up (and put it conveniently on the top of a cage). Good fun for 35$ (with a plastic case and a "credit card" size power bank, not really usable in the Mediterranean sun, the Focus is the least for such conditions. @BTM_Pix knows everything there is to know about it!
  15. As we do not have a physical presence, we are mostly "judged" from what we say/type. My e-time lately is too limited to waste on such individuals. This guy came here to have a fight, not to learn anything. I will just pass.
  16. I am not aware from what culture you are coming from but calling names to people you do not know, is not a good start to make friends on a new environment, and as you are new to this forum, we have debated and argue about the lack of any ergononics (whatsoever) on a6xxx and A7 cameras for hundrends of pages. Just do a little research and you will also find my opinions there. The only Canon I own is the AE-1 and a set of FD lenses, so I have no horse in this race, but for professional reasons I have to use Sony cameras all the time, and they are seriously lacking in so many respects, that I do not have the time to state here but are very well documented here, and in other forum and special press articles. The market seems to favor these Canon cameras, and I do agree, as these are perfectly placed (cost wise as well) for entry level and slightly more advanced users, together with the ultra cheap and quite good 11-22, 22mm pancake and maybe the 55-200, and the kit 15-45 is sufficient for such a use. Small, light and cheap. You obviously disagree, but you can state your disagreement with a milder and more civilized manner, and be ready to face different point of views.
  17. The first Eos M was terrible, true (Canon tried to offer something like a compact), but they have 8 more bodies since and they are a joy for amateurs and occasional photographers. On the other topic I posted the links of Canon being no2 in Japan in sales and TrekOfJoy I think posted a newer one that Canon is now No1. Sheeps.
  18. You are obviously full of animal crap. All the Sonys I have used are the worst in their tier. A lot of words and insults for something as simple as that, that even Sony users know and most admit. You believe you are the wolf (or the pig) and you try to impose your views on the "sheep" but we are not on Animal Farm.
  19. @MdB haha! That s a good one! Seriously, have you ever use a Sony camera??!! There are millions of pages on the net about the worst ergonomics, button placement, menu system and touch interface (not!) in business. Unfortunatelly, from time to time I have to work with an A7 camera, and the difference between those and my NX1s are night and day. A few weeks ago we were shooting with some A7s cameras, and I asked the owner of the camera to change something and it took him several minutes to find the menu and change it. In any segment Sony has issues with their ergonomics and menus, that applies to C100 vs FS5 and C300 vs FS7, in my humble opinion of course.
  20. Even Canonikon board members admitted that they underestimated the mirrorless sales dynamic. When Nikon is 3rd in US full frame sales (at least for some months) and Canon/Sigma/Tamron sell more lenses in Japan (first time ever I guess), and mirrorless sales are 35-50% of the ILC in various markets, and Nikon do not compete yet, then I am not so sure that they are free and happy about their position in the market. Nikon mirrorless has to be a success. By all the metrics I have seen, Olympus is selling very well in mirrorless (1st in Japan with Canon 2nd). I dare to say that Fuji must be barely above Pentax. https://www.google.gr/amp/s/nikonrumors.com/2017/04/14/sony-pushed-nikon-from-the-2-spot-in-u-s-full-frame-interchangeable-lens-camera-market.aspx/amp/ https://photorumors.com/2018/01/16/the-2018-bcn-camera-rankings-are-out/ http://www.cipa.jp/stats/dc-2017_e.html
  21. @MdB Canon is making mirrorless cameras for some years now, and their latest are a joy to use. They called Eos M and they are perfect for their intended use. I am 95% confident that both Canonikon will deliver.
  22. The cheapest solution could be something like the Benro S6/7/8, next option could be a Sachtler Ace and that's that. You can do some moves with the Benros if you weight them right, Ace is great for dSLR/mirrorless.
  23. I am currently doing sound on a daily broadcast episodic series, we use 2 FS7mkII. Imagine if you had to shoot Raw for this! Reality is a lot different than hypothetical specs on forums. My take on the C200, is that is an overpriced C100mkIII. It ia very difficult to fit it between the C100mkII and the C300mkII. Those 2 cameras seem more appropriate for their intended market groups, the C200 is somehow lost in space (and in price, in Europe is much more expensive that it should). The only times we used a C200, we could have been using an C100mkII, and when we needed something upper tier, then we went straight to C300mkII.
  24. Yeah, JWS needed an upvote! Why to have to choose betwen mic or line??! What needs +4 db? Usually 0 and -10 is what I use most. The input voltage is alright but we are talking about 400euros difference, almost an F4 plus! Is any specific power option that wasn't applicable in the 9-16V?? Why they had to change that?
  25. Haha! Where is the laugh-vote?! Seriously, in real life situation the voltage and +4db where are applicable?? I am so getting an F8!
