  1. @mkabi you wrote "Also, that 5% spawned the whole cinema line..." I do not agree with that statement, (age is irrelevant, but it seemed like someone very young would say something like this), and I ask: What do you think people were using for moving images from the 80's until 2009 that people realized that you could shoot video with a dSLR? And even then, 5DmkII was a specialized camera, for most of us, video professionals. A decent video camera with ND filters, XLR's, continuous recording abilities, and the rest, was a more preferable solution for 8 out of 10. Even then, using an EX2 with a Letus adapter was a better solution for most productions (or XL2 for that matter). Those cameras by the way, cost-ed double the price of a C100mkII (todays cost), and while that was the greatest market in video (then) now camcorders are not that popular anymore, and I believe a big portion of this went to C line, JVC LS300 (which is not a dSLR/mirrorless), Sony FS5, and all the rest that are coming, or are already here. Then you say the C line is a huge mistake?! Do you even know how many are serviceable in the industry? C100 and C300 (especially the first) sold great. The difference is size and weight is relative to your other equipment and setup. I much prefer using my APS-C mirrorless system than a dSLR, and even GH5 feels quite heavy and wide for me. I wouldn't mind having less to carry on the field, while keeping an optimum (relevant to- ) ergonomics and ease of use, which I have achieve with my current mirrorless system. I am just expressing a different point of view, that the different form factor of a dedicated video (cine?) camera maybe an advantage to a lot of us (or certainly some of us!), and in the same time, for smaller jobs, or for B camera(s), or for personal projects and/or hobby and/or family photos and videos, I would like to have a small-ish mirrorless system (not as small as not usable, like the first A7 Sony cameras though, especially for a full frame body, as I said, they have to be relevant to the setup/other gear).
  2. I understand! I am an audio pro first, and I do have a lot of legacy lenses, and I always work full manual, and most times manual focus, but all these are about to change! I already started using touch focus in Canon cameras or my personal NX system, and the rest that technology is offering, are more than welcomed! For some kinds of photography, auto focus is the standard for many years now, it's just video is more complicated, and auto focus systems have to work full time, and in a more "civilized" way (than speed, I mean), but we are going there, for sure (I am not talking about continuous AF, mostly touch focus, or the one-button of the C100mkII, still have control of the focus, but wherever you want on the frame), plus all the others modern lenses have to offer.
  3. "Spoiled" for using lenses with no AF, no electronic metering, no stabilization, no PZ or any other motoring control, no connection to the camera e.t.c?! This is the opposite of "spoiled" in my book, especially if you work with a C300mkII and the 18-80, or something like this. Stabilized/super fast DPAF relatively cheap zoom lens with no focus breathing and par focal. You zoom in, you focus, you gold from now on! I am using adapters/speedboosters all the time, for my personal system I want native. I understand why some people (if not, most) would prefer native support in both bodies and lenses, everything is just so easier, a little bit smaller, and lighter. Usually the center of balance is a lot better in native combos and that does matter also. I have a couple of sets of legacy lenses from back then (FD/M42), but I do not use them anymore, only in very small and "experimental" projects. @mkabi assumes that before the 5DmkII (2008-2009) people didn't shoot video, or making short films, or covering weddings/conferences/events/sports, e.t.c!! It is one thing to be young and another to be ignorant. I started working in the 90's, by the way.
  4. I always wondered what this profile was. I never found anything about it. Why it is there, or who made it. I am not sure whatbis its purpose. It says something like Pro Custom Settings, or something but I can't find any info about it.
  5. It is just unbelievable if we can gain that extra stop we are missing from the terrible low light performance. That stop, isn't the end of the world, as the cameras are exceptional in most things, but if I can gain that extra stop too, then I can confidently stay in the system for longer! Thanks.
  6. The only think we do, is to max the 3 colors on the settings? What if I have different values for each (close at max, but one or two a bit less) because I usually have those adjusted slightly. Or is it April's fool already?! It is, isn't it?!
  7. Because everything Fuji does from now on, even the smallest thing, will have its own topic, it seems! That is why I quoted the only 2 things the firmware update does, to point to their insignifigance, and to reflect on the fact that Fuji had a need to right away fix those 2 issues. These two must have been plagued a lot of people it seems.
  8. The firmware update Ver.1.01 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues: 1.In the EF (E-FRONT CURTAIN SHUTTER) setting, the warning of “TURN OFF THE CAMERA AND TURN ON AGAIN” could appear in rare cases when the FLICKER REDUCTION setting is ON. 2.Switching the CUSTOM setting can make the ISO AUTO setting return back to default when the ISO AUTO setting is changed.
  9. Can you explain the workflow a bit more? I am not clearly understanding what is going on here! I use only M for video, what is the workflow for that?
  10. No one said that this guy found the ultimate raw workflow or anything, we do not know him, we won't see him Monday for work/school/whatever, and most probably never. What most of us said, the ones we talked at least, and I believe it was a good size of the active NX community (at least in numbers), "IT IS JUST ONE WEEK, LET'S SEE WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN", that week passed in approximately 2 hours ago in the guys country. I still can not comprehend what was the fuzz about and why we had to waste 14 pages for that, I waste most time reading the "accusers" and replying to bring some calmness here, that Arikhan created to me. The guy actually cost-ed me time to read 2 responses, and nothing more, not even 20 seconds ( I am a fast reader anyway). I probably have the most interest here of anyone (except Luca that sells hardware for NX cameras) with 4 NX cameras, 8 lenses, 4 flash guns, and unlimited NX accessories, and l do not even care, I learned a lot about people here though, that was eye opening really, and people cost more than cameras, or less, it depends. This thread should be closed pages ago, it just brought confusion and negativity, and we had a lot of that recently on different threads. The guy is banned (I think), no one will ever going to hear from him again. Well done. What else?
  11. This, to be precise, just because it will ship faster (I hope) and I liked the acrylic case better https://www.amazon.de/Touchscreen-Kuman-Display-Schutzhülle-Audioeingang/dp/B075JBZJDF/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 This is just a silly project for monitoring the NX500 on a silly cage with matte box and everything, just for kicks! There is a screen revolution happening in China right now, a lot of cheap products exist, and will appear in the future.
  12. You sum it up pretty well. Thanks for reminding people how simple life was before people ask demanding things out of the given timetable. I am not sure if people realise how important are the graduation exams for educational systems such these. It definitelly influence at least the next -and probably most productive - decade of our lives, and for some, the rest of their lives. People having at least a university degree, understand for sure.
  13. they are not coming with anything, this rumor is based on the rumors we have mentioned here already. It is amazing in the era of social media and "always-on-line" how rumors and fake news travel, and become a reality! IF, and I say, IF ever try to make an NX2, I am sure it will be the most heavy spec-ed and future proof camera ever built!
  14. Actually, the whole sentence from Wikipedia is "The first full-frame DSLR cameras were developed in Japan from around 2000 to 2002: the MZ-D by Pentax,[25] the N Digital by Contax's Japanese R6D team,[26] and the EOS-1Ds by Canon.[27]" Another one, "In early 2008, Nikon released the D90, the first DSLR to feature video recording. Since then all major companies offer cameras with this functionality."
  15. April 1st comes earlier in Asia! or should I say, the joke is on us? "According to foreign media reports" we are the foreigners, so the article is according to us! This is some ancient prototype or something, by the way, it looks similar with the "Re-imagined", or whatever was called, recent S9 add, with the same 18-55 lens.
  16. Killing other human beings and destroy their land for centuries, is the top paying business in the planet!
  17. For me, the absolute minimum is the Focus right now, anything less is just not a very good buy. For that price (100$ more than cheap ones) is a steal.
  18. Everyone knows Sony goes up to 11!! Noone can beat that. Certainly best marketing in business, doing a lot of stuff right and funnels capital at the right direction.
  19. I have lived in different countries for some years (5-6). Last year, we had 33-35.000.000 tourists (the whole country is around 10.000.000), so there must be something in this land! Also, we have the lowest suicide rates in Europe (3.2 per 100.000 inhabitants while France is 12.3, Finland has 14.2 and Sweden 12.7, some of the highest numbers in the western world. NZ 12.3, the States 12.6, Japan 15.4), and one of the lowest murder rates in Europe (0.74, U.S is 5.32/France 1.38/Sweden 1.06/Finland 1.14 e.t.c). For a devastated financially country, and other very serious issues (too much for here) those numbers are stellar. Enjoy your AKG! Is an "ok mic"! Joking, it is excellent for the money, and AKG always delivers (having only 0.53 murder rate!). Let me know how it goes, I haven't used one for years, but maybe is a good solution for an indoors mic, now that I have this extra need. Or I should stay with the Oktava for a little while! Please report back from the sound-field!
  20. I know exactly 3 pros that own Fuji. Everybody is expecting the XT-3. One of the biggest issues they have, among others, is batteries. They have to change a lot per day (and they never owned Sony I guess!). My impression is that XT-3 will be a much nicer camera ready to compete at the higher end, while this one seems like an after-thought.
  21. https://cvp.com/product/canon_eos_c700_ef?utm_source=mailshot&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email for the Europeans!
  22. @brianwahl Great post, it should be tagged and stick in the top for everyone to see! In the end, everyone buys what fits him/her. If I compare my NX system to the Fuji, 18 out of 20 I prefer NX, but if you compare Fuji to Sony, then hands down Fuji is a more appealing proposition. The color science is not even close, and older Sony cameras had a lot of different issues. I also do not care for full frame, and Fuji ISO performance seems adequate for most things (and that stop extra performance, is the 1 out of the 2 things Fuji is better than my NX1s!). Congratulations for your business too. @Yurolov C100mkII all the way baby! The best, worst codec ever existed on this planet!
  23. Wow! that is really significant. There were rumors of a C camera imminent (most people guessed C100 or C300 mkIII) and an XC camera. It wouldn't make any sense to have 2 entry level cameras (the C100 and the XC) announced together, so that means the other camera will be an XC. If it is (the rumor of a rumor!) an XC with an EF-M mount, it will be interesting for low budget video makers, together with the Eos M kit lens/22mm/11-22mm you have a quite cheap and complete set for a lot of low budget jobs, that can pay the bills. Here, I just created another rumor! The other significant thing, is that Canon has a mirrorless new sensor, and go mirrorless all the way!
  24. I do not know about the issue, but it is well known that the NX dials are failing all the time. My old NX300 failed last year (I gave it to a friend in 2015 though, so it didn't happen in my hands), and my NX500 starts acting up. My 2 NX1's are fine (and the one is heavily used) so far.. This is the most serious issue people are having with the NX system. In general ALL their cameras are very robust and well made (if you open one, you will be surprised how good and clean their internal's design is, and after so many hours of video recording in highest temperatures they work fine) and it is annoying that they failed in probably the most irrelevant part of their design. So stupid..
