Everything seems to be in turmoil! Seriously, I am 100% sure that Crane will answear to the Ronin S, even before the S will be available, and anyway, I haven't been particularly impressed with older gimbals I have tried (including the Crane), and there is Mozza, Meiyu, Pilotfly and more, in the game now. Usually renting out a Ronin for most jobs but I want something small for the summer, and I could easily pay a 20% DJI premium, if the product is right for my needs.

the release time seems right though, they have already 2 new A7 cameras. Let's let the dust settle a bit they can "hit" later on. The two aforementioned Sony's are very good for hybrid shooters, as they are. They have to put some special awesome sauce for us!
-
Indeed, I have lost track since the Crane 2, and I am waiting to see the DJI Ronin S first. It seems like most gimbals do have that angle, so one can see the camera's monitor, which the Crane's do not have.

@Matthew Hartman I guess, he thanked you for your noble effort replying to this thread and not referring to any specification!

I do not care about IBIS at all, not that much about 10 bit either (in case anyone mentions it!) and "full frame" isn't a necessity. I would like to see a better sensor and more efficient processor, with a few ergonomic improvements. I know for sure that Fuji follows the market and listens. We will see.

LukiLink project turns smartphones into an HDMI monitor
Kisaha replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
If this is a scam, I would be very sad about the community (the lack of it actually), not about the product of course (I have a SmallHD) but for the trust issues that created. The truth is that people asked for refund for 3-5 months now, and that didn't happen, and no one replied or anything. The ones that got it, were only a few in the early days when everything looked optimistic. -
..or stay with the ones we have (buying cheaper, do more - in this case). That is always an option as well. People do not have to buy every camera ever existed (except if they want of course, but they do not have to).
-
@BTM_Pix Thanks for all the info. Are these cheap lenses that good for pro photography? What about video?
-
The widest you can go natively in 4K is 28-29mm with the UWZ they have, which isn't that wide, but definitely usable. You just have to buy another lens (in M system, the 22mm and the UWZ are mandatory I believe, only good lenses of the system) and the 22mm is 56-57mm equiv. still workable, but on the tele side of things for a youtuber I guess. I would be more interested to actual see footage of that said 4K, and other video formats than the crop numbers, but certainly is an inconvenient crop (I shoot wide to medium most of the times, from fish eye to around 80mm equiv, so that would not been practical for me, but as a 2nd 3rd camera, I wouldn't mind much). The battery life is a huge minus though I had issues with Sony cameras and their small batteries, and it seems that this one is even worst.

https://www.canon-europe.com/cameras/eos-4000d/ 18megapixels sensor (from 2009), and seems like a plastic mount.

The other guy also said "photography is dead, two years!".

Spec wise the camera is amazing, but I too see a lot of weird Sony colors. I thought they were improving their color science with each release, I do not know what is going on. I am still trying to keep it low, and see what Canonikon and the next Fuji (X-T3) can do. I do not know why, but I still want to believe in these guys! Does anyone know if this camera has 1 touch picture capability (just press the touch screen and instantly take a picture)?

@mercerThis thread supposed to be the one to release some tension and have a good laugh, and suddenly it turned to an opinion war again! All opinions are good, some people agree, some disagree, and this and that. Canon plays a big part in our psyche, we all want them to succeed! Sure things are more tensed here than they used to be! @Damphousse I have read all the posts, actually the last week I have read so many posts, that it starts becoming weird! Certainly I never said Canon idiots, why to say that? I am not 7 years old. I have an AE-1 and a full set of FD lenses! Seriously, Canon is the brand I have used, and owned most in my life. Also, you don't have to call all the people here clueless, you don't know all of them. You can call me, clueless, I disagree, but certainly respect your opinion. I have a whole post of how much ILC cameras sell (around 12.000.000 per year lately, CIPA statistics) and that the bulk of sales happen at the entry level and older models, that I posted yesterday, here https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/26717-canon-m50-mirrorless-camera-features-4k-video/?page=14 At least we agree we are not going to buy this camera! World Dictatorship has to burn all the cameras of the world, so I do have to use one of those, in any other case, I would choose something else, and of course that is my opinion!

This is the conclusion paragraph for the people that do not have as much free time as us, just to complete the big picture. "It's odd to call a manufacturer greedy when a camera is so low priced right out of the gate, but the move to include so many low-end pieces and clearly left over parts and still charge $500 for it leaves few to come to any other conclusion. Obviously for many of us reading Imaging Resource, we care about Canon and all manufacturers being aspirational by way of innovation and advancing camera technology, and moves like the 4000D don't do that in the slightest. There's a place in the world for yesterday's camera too, and it's not on store shelves in the UK (or at your local Best Buy in the US, should the 4000D ever hit North American markets), it's in classrooms around the world, particularly ones who may not otherwise have access to digital cameras. It's a real shame Canon doesn't see that." Also, "I wait for the inevitable price drop." So, is this in your buying list? I am eagerly awaiting for your review!
-
@Damphousse you completely ignored the whole article and took just a paragraph out of it in a way that suits you. It is silly trying to fool people like this, we can read. @mercer people can not judge Canon's choices and new releases? Since when? and I thought it is the job of professional writers and journalists to write such articles. In this thread and various articles have been proposed better options with less, or slightly more money (in our humble opinion of course), I mentioned a couple of Canon offerings a few posts ago. Seriously, there is nothing to defend on this abomination. In my humble opinion (I have to start every paragraph with this from now on I guess) this should cost something like 199$ to make it a statement. 450$-500 kit is not cheap at all in India.

Thank you guys, no more votes left of, course, was a busy day over here!

Seriously, what do we know about the reliability and the build quality of Kinefity cameras? I have read that they sell well in Asia. Of, course, I wouldn't call it exactly cheap and the crop factor is a bit weird. Does anyone know if they are sold on continental Europe? Now with Brexit it's going to be tricky to buy from the UK.

ha ha!! (for both posts!) It also has 9 points AF. 9. "Beyond the plastic mount, the buttons themselves aren’t even labeled. The writing is imprinted onto the body, and the buttons are blank. I once bought a copy of Monopoly in Bangladesh that was clearly made on someone’s inkjet printer, and it looked better than this."
-
me too! Cheers!
-
@j-oc thank you very much, I do not have more Thank you, or up votes! The fact that one needs the battery grip for headphone out, and larger video files, is not ideal, I guess. Even GH5 feels large and heavy on my hands. Cheers.

He lost his "mojo" !! (the keyword of the day!)
-
Hoorah! Between the both of us @Emanuel we are at 1.5% at least! The key word here is "independent". Good job mr. @Andrew Reid!
-
Yes! Does anyone knows the exact differences between them (except the obvious smaller mega pixel count)?

It is tempting, it fixes so many issues I (and a lot of people) had with the older series, and the price is right, and has an S35 mode as well, I love S35, I wouldn't change a APS-C camera for a full frame, no way, but when the full frame has the S35 option as well, and costs as much, then..bonus! I said that before I knew anything about any A7iii or any other camera, the Fuji doesn't bring a lot to the table for NON Fuji users, I do not see a lot of people changing system for Fuji (actually I must have said those exact words), and then I declared enemy of the state number 1 and the such! It is just an educated guess, I love Fuji, and hope them the best, but they have to worth my money, because they are very hard earned! Edit: As I said before, for Nikon users, Fuji is the preferable mirrorless system (at least around my circle of friends and co-workers), when the Nikon mirrorless is reality, a lot of the Nikon crowd will go back. @j-oc I would like to know more about the touch operations, touch focus functions and how good the camera feels ergonomically. Also, how the camera feels with the (mandatory) battery grip. Congrats to your new camera, enjoy!

Funny how this is a hot topic, with almost no information at all! I put C100mkII and NX1 there, and just in memory of the camera that started it all, I will put the 5DmkII as well, but I had to use it a few times the last couple of years, and I hated the experience. Mojo for me is not only the picture you take, but to feel confident while in hard working hours, and to feel that everything is right in place (I know a lot of people will spell simply "ergonomics", but it's not even that, it's the mojo on that!) and that you will do the job, whatever the circumstances and the difficulties. These cameras haven't failed me repeatedly, for many years now, and while I am working with a lot of brands and models per year, these are my workhorses, and favorite ones to work with.
