  1. So has the firmware updates fixed these micro jitters on power ois lenses including 14-140mm mk2?
  2. Can video have shutter shock or is it just stills?
  3. It's between sony and blackmagic

  6. most of these have the camera in front of you so you should get something that has a way to use counterweights on the other side of your shoulder if you will be shooting for long periods of time. Making it heavier this way will not only help balance it making it more comfortable but it will also steady the shots since dslrs are so light.
  7. They are saying the noise is persistent with or without ibis. One poster says external mic mounted on camera might pick up the sound. Seems like it needs to be tested.
  8. https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52871 These threads are almost a parody of themselves.
  9. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153772033285426&id=177852000425 Bloom does overheating test and says rolling shutter is same as a6300
  10. He finds flog to be similar to (6300) s-log 2 in dr but less than slog 3. Also slog2 has less noise and slog3 a bit cleaner. He finds flog to have big improvement on dr over internal profiles but also more noise and less sharp. Slog profiles improve dr over sony's internal profiles but not as much as flog improves dr over fuji's internal profiles. He recorded externally for x-t2 to Atomos Ninja Assassin 4K.
  11. Some kind of crosshatching issue no one seems to know why it's happening including bmd. http://bmcuser.com/showthread.php?18452-Cross-hatch-screen-door https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51936 People experiencing varying amounts of fpn on different cameras from 'massive amounts at 1600' to even noticeable at 800-400. http://bmcuser.com/showthread.php?18556-Fixed-Pattern-Noise-(Clarification-Needed) Magenta corner issue still not officially addressed. http://bmcuser.com/showthread.php?16812-4-6k-Ursa-Mini-magenta-issues/page93 Vertical lines that won't completely disappear. https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52078 What's funny and sad about all these threads is someone points out an issue they have on their cameras and then all these other forum members dismiss them as amateurs and dilettantes who don't know how to properly use their cameras but then as the thread grows it becomes clear that these issues are real and that even bmd has no idea how to address them in any sense. Maybe this type of customer experience is about right for the low price of $5000 for a raw video camera?
  12. BnH first look promo on a6500 and rx100v
  13. Helen on dpreview says that this might be a result of using the electronic shutter: "With certain (but far from all) modern artificial lighting, you can get a series of horizontal, shadowy bands at certain shutter speeds when using the silent electronic shutter because it exposes in a rolling sequence. The bands show up at fast shutter speeds well above the flicker rate of the lights, and at speeds a little slower that are out of sync with the flicker rate. If the slower speeds are in sync with the flicker rate, the bands don't appear. Lights typically flicker at 60 Hz in the US but 50 Hz in the UK where I am, so it could affect the precise number of shadowy bands you see according to where you live (not sure). Seeing 5 bands means the electronic shutter takes about 1/20 sec to expose the whole frame; 7 bands means it's nearer to 1/13 (these are from memory so excuse any slight wanderings from exact figures). At present, just a very few cameras can go faster than this on electronic shutter." It's tricky to diagnose this on the nx1 I'm guessing because the electronic first curtain sounds similar to the mechanical shutter.
  14. Helen on dpreview forum wrote about oly lenses on panny bodies: "Yet to try them (little time/no light etc. etc.) but I imagine it's going to be like other recent Panasonics - in single AF, Olympus lenses seem perfectly fast, but you might notice the lack of DFD by comparison with Panasonic lenses in continuous AF." https://***URL removed***/forums/thread/4065555?page=2 This is something I am interested in as well, especially autofocus differences in video between oly and panny lenses on panny bodies.
  15. Yeah if I pick this up then it will be my first m43 body, so thinking of picking up some lenses and then the gh5. I thought the g7 images at first were not great too but then they got much better and I really like the size of this system after handling them next to canons and nikons. I just wish the af was better.
  16. footage is meh but it's hard to tell what their settings are also at what res they shot it on but the ibis does look good. I wonder what if any improvement there is on autofocus and iso with g7, gx85.

  19. Wow. That sounds like such a great deal! I'm waiting to see how they sell it here in South Korea. I'm thinking about picking one up for bts footage.
  20. I used to think that way until I tried some of the new canon bodies, and now to me, autofocus seems usable in many narrative and professional settings. DPAF + touchscreen is pretty amazing and other companies need to be held to that standard.
