Some off the cuff comparisons between um4.6 and gh5. Would like to see skin off different types of interior lights, wide and cu, and also mixed lights.

dpaf vs Advanced dfd

Is there a patent on pdaf? Why is Panasonic gun shy about improving their af for video?

A7SIII (and why you should wait before buying GH5)

Yeah, focus is a choice but you can choose the focus on af. It's like a tap vs a turn. -

Why no 10bit? That's also a deal breaker in 2017. -
Nice shots. But the picture flickers back and forth from the evf and lcd?

Some slomo. Talking head autofocus test. What do you guys think?

Then they should add it to the 1dx ii unless there is an upgrade to the 1dc on the horizon.

Then that article is right to point out the limitations as the camera is being sold without the 400Mbps, no? Also, why is this simple pan still stuttering like the G85 before they fixed the ibis? Did they ever correct this on the G85? To me the highlights on this camera don't look great. The autofocus for video is still unusable from what I've seen. I don't get why people are so hyped for this camera. Maybe it'll be amazing when they release the 400 Mbps?

What do you guys think about this?

Has BMD addressed the magenta cast, corners and fpn even at 800 iso? If so, this camera looks like a beast for the price.

They go into explaining the autofocus settings for stills and video. Would be great to get someone to actually test the settings with people standing still and moving back and forth and gesticulating with narrow dof like in an interview or scene setting as well as just moving about in the frame alone or with other people and objects.

You need to focus on one thing. I started in post in NYC dubbing and doing assistant editing work. I was lucky that the industry was going from tape to digital so I helped my post house do that transfer from conforming with tapes to going to the avid and after effects. So my professional work back then was in the post industry editing for commercials and PBS documentaries but I was writing and shooting short films on my weekends. If you want to work in post then you should apply for jobs at post houses in your area but be ready to start in a clerical position or as an assistant even if you have a reel. Another way to break in is to freelance but you really need to be outgoing and motivated to network and consistently looking for new work otherwise apply for an entry position. If you want to work on shoots then you need to start as a PA. If you want to create your own work then keep your day job and keep writing and polishing until you think something is ready for a producer or manager to read. This is all moot if your work is amazing. Just put it up on youtube or vimeo and send links to companies and reps and people will find you.

He said somewhere they are still tweaking it. If CAF is good then I think some people on the fence like me will pick one up.

Dave looks better on the left and at my age I'd also rather be shot on the 1dx ii. Don't know if that's a good thing though.

If it doesn't hunt on caf when locked on a subject this could be the best camera for the price but if no one "reviewing" it is really showing this then I will assume it's "advanced" DFD still comes up short.

http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-more-gh5-pricing-info/#disqus_thread Body only: Price will be between 1 800 € and 2 000 € in Europe for the DMC-GH5. Price will be ± 2 900 € for the DMC-GH5 + the new Panasonic Leica 12-60 Lens (not the older 12-60mm lens!) In Korea that's around the price of a a7r ii or a7s ii. Kind of crazy.
