Just make sure you have your batteries packed in your carry on and that the battery's are below the limit of what's allowed

I believe that Canon is feeling the pain right now with their lack of speed. Sony and Panasonic have kicked their butts on the low end and Canon HAS to catch up. This isn't the 80s anymore. I love the fact that Canon is getting some competition. Competition makes companies better. Yay Capitalism!

Holy crap! So old! Haha. It's ridiculous how long Canon takes to move.
-
Absolutely! Very excited about this camera and the one from Panasonic. It's about time for sure.

Im not sure it will be included. If it's not I think this would work. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1124622-REG

Pretty sure James Miller (Philip Bloom's buddy) did some tests with this with the 1DC which has similar external outputs. Ive done tests with my 1DC. When shooting 4k the external output is a really nice clean 1080p and you get that "full frameish" look. I agree. I'm considering it for sure. I just like the idea of having a smaller camera. The 5D is half the weight

Ya I've read that 1DX II handles rolling shutter really well
-
Do you know the actual rolling shutter measurement? Is it worse than an a6300?
-
Agreed!

I've been seriously considering the 5D IV as a upgrade to my 1DC. And I was thinking, same AF, same 8bit 4:2:2 codec, same canon color as the 1DX II but half the weight and size! i finally found a great wide angle option for the 4k crop on this camera with the new Tamron 10-24mm HLD http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1317273-REG That Tamron paired with a sigma 18-35 gives you a great kit for 4k with little compromise. The only thing I don't like is the significantly worse rolling shutter compared to the 1DX II in 4k (tho I'm pretty sure 5D IV in 4k is similar to my 1DC) and the lack of 4k at 60p... I already have all the CF cards left over from my 1DC! I'm about to start vlogging more and with the SmallHD Focus I can have a "flip out" screen when I need it. I added up the weight and a GH5 with the 8-15 lens is only a few oz lighter than the 5D IV with tamron. I would way rather have canons AF and color science PLUS future CLog and obviously full frame STILLS! To take pictures of my future baby (my wife is pregnant with our first child) idk. It seems like an actual "upgrade" sorta to my 1DC. Obviously there are a few down sides but I'm already used to the MJPEG codec, have the cards, have the glass, love the colors, etc. i just havent seen many people at ALL giving this little camera a chance. Would love to see more action out of this guy. I think there is some gold there if you look hard enough (and use the right glass) 1.7x crop is what the Blackmagic Production camera was. Which means same for the original URSA and AJA CION. It's manageable. If this camera cost $1500 and was placed as more of a competitor to the a6500 (for video), people wouldn't be as upset about it.

Bright tangerine is the go to these days for small and light. It's what most DPs are using on gimbals.

I have been using FCPX since the initial 1.0 release and I was fortunate enough to be able to deal with it as a single camera op/ editor. Now I am working for a production company with 12 people and I am still the only FCPX user in the house. Everyone else is stuck in Adobe. I have been trying to convince them all to switch but they wont. I still carry the FCPX flag and LOVE the speed and keyword tagging. Its such a dialed in program now and has matured well. Wes Plate and Tim Dashwood adding to the team is good news.

Thanks man. Appreciate the calmness lol. Looking forward to see what is released!

I'm just trying to share with the community. Take it or leave it. I'm sorry you don't believe me. We will see in about a month if it's true or not.

See the new thread C200...as this is what I have learned is what they are calling this camera. One thing that I thought was interesting was what Alexander Sax told me today. The cinema camera market pulls in $150 million a year. Which is such a fraction of what Canon makes a year which is a total of almost $20 BILLION! Even when Canon USA and the Canon Cine people talk to the high ups about implementing 4k in their lower end models, they look at their profits and compare to Sony/ Nikon/ fuji/ Panasonic and they are still out selling the other companies. So its hard for the Japanese suits to get it and to implement. Again, wait for Cinegear 2017. That's all that I am hearing and I will hold out for it...............
-
A source who has access to a Canon rep directly said they are labeling it C200 for a differentiating between models. You don't have to trust me, but I know I would be interested to know these things if someone else knew so I am simply just sharing what I have learned by asking around NAB. Lets just wait and see and cinegear.
-
Spoke with a high up rep. He said to wait for cinegear. He didn't say what it was but when I asked about it I could read into it. Let's see.

I just had an "on the record" conversation with the a canon rep today on the show floor and brought up the whole "lack of 4k across the board" issue. They told me that the Japanese corporate people just don't get it but now are seeing some serious impact from Panasonic and Sony. He said their philosophy is that people who buy 77d and t7i don't need 4k but I said the 80d is a great video camera and they should add 4k to that model. He said a 90d with 4k would make sense but not to get our hopes up. I also spoke to a Panasonic rep today who told me that he was on the airplane sitting next to a Canon rep and the Canon rep told him "you and Sony are eating our lunch in the lower end and the a9 is a serious hit to our high end." The Panasonic rep said this is the first year that Canon reps have the humility and lack of ego/ pride that they normally do. Also, I spoke to the Canon rep about the c100 mk3. He said it does exist. It's just not here and he couldn't tell me when we will see it. He couldn't confirm any specs. I'll try to dig more on them tomorrow
-
All I heard is from a canon rep that there is a c100 mk3 that is 4k and it will be released soon. I thought we'd see it today but Canon rumors guy told me on twitter we won't see any more canon cinema stuff until later this year. So now all we gots to do is wait.
-
Well. Looks like it's not today boys. I'm sorry. Canonnnnnnn ahhhhhh!! Why?!?!!! :/
-
I had a great first day. Stay tuned for day #2!

Yes. There was a leak. I am not saying anything and I didn't post this. I may or may not have heard something tonight at a party It may or may not have been a reputable source but from what I was told it sounds like the perfect camera. We will see tomorrow
