  1. Well this has certainly gone off the rails ? I only started this as separate thread to raise awareness of the possible advancement for other NX1 owners. As an owner, anything that potentially enhances the image or adds to the experience, I am all for. It is sad we will not know definitively if this was a real development or not. Perhaps it would be best for Andrew to kill this thread and let any further announcements come through a proper post on the site.
  2. Exactly...I was on the brink of selling my NX1 and going all FUJI and then this pops up...
  3. So, this is filed under the NX2 rumors thread...but, if true, I thought this warrants its own thread... 20 hours ago, Arikhan said: Im have good news for you: I just shot RAW video with the NX1...RAW VIDEO in 25p - nice workflow with 25 DNGs per second. Just an unbelievable quality (in my eyes). Problem: I'm just writing my graduation exam...after that I'll download the footage and describe the methodology. It's quite special but it's great for my Ipurposes. With the 60mm 2.8 at F6 an unbelievable detail and sharpness. It's quite exciting...
  4. IF this actually came out, Samsung could offer a Canon / Nikon lens adapter...right out of the gate. I have friends heavily invested in their lenses that would buy this if they could use some of their existing lenses...
  5. I would say that this wouldn't hold true...Everyone on here likes to argue that the NX1 had so little market share, it seems like the NX2 has nowhere to go but up Additionally, I was drawn to the NX1 for its awesome "future proof" specs...which has somewhat held true. A NX2 with the specs listed in this thread would get the attention of anyone looking for a new camera (depending on price, of course). I also agree with @lucabutera that launching this could put companies like RED on notice that if you want to play in the smartphone arena, we can undercut you here. I fall into the "glad I bought it, nothing else is worth trading for it yet" class...and, I'm really just using it to take pics and videos of my family. It always works, it doesn't lag.
  6. I'm guessing Andrew would be a customer if this came out
  7. I say we help Samsung out here...in case they are watching this thread. Let's keep it simple. Simply say "I'm in" if you'd buy it and, for their own research, what price you would pay? I'm in. $2500 retail.
  8. I agree. If I had a client that wanted to pixel peep to that level, I'm probably working with the wrong clients. As a non-Fuji user, the appeal for me has always been the colors and profiles...
  9. Some of the best pictures I've "captured" have actually been stills from 4K. My usual process is to take them right out of Final Cut Pro, using the "export frame" setting...As far as coloring goes, the pic comes out with whatever LUT I have on the footage (not usually a bad thing).
  10. Well, it seems almost criminal to put in such a nice frame grab and not mention anything about how you got those awesome colors...Was this with one of the film simulations on? What lens? Do tell...I'm thinking of going smaller than my NX1 rig and this is one of the cameras I'm looking into (TX20)...
  11. Anyone else have any recent videos? This is on Gamma DR with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens
  12. @tdonovic Sorry, I have to disagree with your "image quality doesn't matter" line. I have an NX and, from time to time, think maybe I should upgrade or get rid of it. Everytime I have taken shots with a recent Nikon camera I walk away disappointed (and still the owner of an NX1). Nikon has a reputation for great cameras, whereas, Samsung has a reputation for phones that blow up and overpriced washers and dryers. Is it too much to ask that the one with the "great camera" reputation actually produce cameras that are great? Lastly...Samsung in their mind, still own 26% of the camera market...since most people just take shots with their smartphones.
  13. Hmmm...only one "con" to be listed. Yet #1 has 5 "cons" listed...Interesting list, though. The Fuji X-T2 is #58 and we hear a lot on here about how it is probably a good "replacement" for the NX1
  14. @Kisaha Thanks for the kind words. They are a blast!
