Panasonic GH5 starts shipping in 3 days. How's the 180fps slow-mo quality?
Dude_ger replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Relax dude, trying to tell anybody that a gh5 will be a good replacement for an Arri or Red doesn´t make you very credible... -
Metabones just wrote me that they have a GH5 since last week and will develop a new firmware for the XL, nice one.
-
If i choose like a fullframe manual prime (samyang 14mm) with metabones, do i have to enter the focal length every time i put this lens on with using the internal stabilisation?
-
Can´t believe the camera is shipping the next days and still nothing from Metabones.. A lot of people make their decision whether to buy this cam or not depending on the xl...

Compatible Canon Prime Setup with SLR Magic Anamorphot?
Dude_ger replied to Mr. Ambiguous's topic in Cameras
But with the Rangfinder there´s no need to focus the 50mm -
Actually they think about implementing this feature, so it s not a wish

At least a anamorphic de-squeeze in b/w would be great. It doesn t take much power , the Magic Lantern guys do the same with raw liveview. I think that without internal de-squeeze the cam wouldn´t be that perfect- you already have a really small cam with no need for external recorders due to 10 bit, how cool would it be to keep this setup with anamorphic (lenses are heavy enogh)

easy, i was just a little confused about this special one, cause he told me it was zoom, but like i said sent the wrong pictures. I already spent weeks on the web and now am looking for a cheap isco to just get into the whole theme or like you said, spent more money on a better one. This is just researching and getting the most informations i can on any lens. For a golden isco (for a first anamorphic test) i´d rather go to a local cinema and get one for free than buy one online.
-
Ok so they sent me the wrong pictures, thanks!

Do you know what this lens is all about? Got an offer, seems like a anamophic zoom lens, or is it just something like a lens attached? It says 110mm-4,3 on it and it´s a 35/70mm lens
-
So we were talking completely different directions? I mean the sensor crop, for example gh4, smaller sensor, only half of the picture as on a Fullframe Camera. So that s where i am confused, like if 80mm on fullframe is possible, a Fullframe 40mm would go on gh4. But i don t know how a 16:9 and 4:3 "Sensor" behave in comparison, especially on the widest possible focal lenght. Tito you re most the time using a FF with 16:9, right? Would a 4:3 sensor allow wider field of view? BTW, did anyone hear about a ISCO anamorphic zoom?
-
Yeah got it, somehow i thought Tito was talking about 58mm at FF. But Either 80ff or 40mft isn t that wide i expected one could go
-
Ah, and here comes my misunderstanding thing angain.. So on a Fullframe you can go wider? Because 40mm on a 2.4 crop equals 96 on FF
-
Lucky you
-
Thanks man, i love you Yeah i already tried the calculator, but with not being sure about the first point, it was let´s say.. difficult. So there´s no 2x adapter Lens which will allow to go under 80mm FF equiv. ?

What do you think of the Schneider? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schneider-Kreuznach-FL-70mm-Super-Cinelux-35mm-Cine-Projector-Lens-/282363288310?hash=item41be29daf6:g:H5wAAOSw3v5YpgDS A local Cinema seems to get rid of one, seems like it has other focus options than these knobs on other Schneiders -
Hi guys, with the upcoming gh5 i decided to switch from FF to this new format, and i am really looking forward to use the 4:3 mode (completely new to Anamorphic, but i worked at a cine rental and so i am somehow familliar with Lenses). So thanks to the great input from Andrew and Tito and some days research, my choice will be a Kowa B&H or 16h/8s with Rangefinder or the SLR Magic 2x with rangefinder. The Kowa seems to take wide opener apertures but is really hard to find, especially in Germany. So the SLR Magic will be my ringboy when it comes to production and i still did not manage to get a nice Kowa. So maybe you can help me out with some questions- When talking about min. focal length on the adapters, for example: FF:85mm, APSC:50mm and 4/3: 40mm, the 40mm is the FF equivalent, right? So i can go with a 20mm on the GH5 in this case? With the full sensor readout on GH5, what do you think will be the widest i can go with the Kowa and Slr Magic? I defenitely will go with some prime lenses in the future, but i also have a one hand gimbal and the first thing to buy is a light lens with OIS, so i was looking for a pancake, like the 14-42 or maybe 20mm. Someone said that a Pancake even works better with an anamorphotic adapter, will it be possible to mount them on the 14-42? (I know Andrew did it with the 20mm). Thanks so much for answers, and i am really happy to join the Anamorphic family (ok, one month still to wait for the camera...)

Sure, i will also have to see what gh5 produces, and on which iso i can shoot. Abolutely no idea because i don t have this camera. But like i said, even the a7s2 produces noise at iso 6400, so it s not accepteable for me and my clients. If the gh5 isn t clean on 1200, i won t go over that. Regarding my 5d mkiii, i never go over iso 2000.
-
Beacuse i do professional work. Even i don t own a Sony. Youre right with dynamic range.
-
Beside the pushed 100 Iso which is crap, think of this: On a Sony A7s2 i don t go over ISO 5000 for any shot. So if ISO 3200 is acceptable on the GH5 and has neraly the same noise as a A7s2 with 5000, go for a speedbooster, that will make your iso 3200 the same as 6400 on a Sony.Giggidi.

There´s also a Gimbal vs Steadicam section in this video

Doeas anybody use it with a MK III and 24-105? Still got some vibrations, but the pre installed profile is the one for heavier cameras
