It can record non stop 4K. But the S1 lacks of the professional video options like the GH5 had, like using shutter degrees, etc. However, it's image is truly awesome.

Panasonic S1 V-LOG -- New image quality king of the hill

25mm MFT on the P4K, 50mm samyang on the S1. More info in my blog » If I will get my hands on a 35mm Samyang, I will compare it (with a Speedbooster on the P4K) to a 50mm on the S1. Yep, I absolutely agree. -

The S1 looks good to me as well. However, please check Geralds video on exposing the BMPCC4K, where he explains how does the different ISO values impact your final image and why is shooting on the base ISO a good thing. So, my footage is far from great, but isn't that the reason why raw was invented? ? -

0 is the lowest you can go for the sharpening/NR (Panasonic slightly changed the UI, it's not like on the GH5 where you had negative values). Get the free resolve, download the footages and try to match them together It's not impossible, but there's a learning curve, like I wrote earlier, I unintentionally overexposed the Pocket screengrab, don't take it as a reference. My goal was to show you all how differently are these two cameras handling the same situation and to upload some sample clips, because I did not had the opportunity to compare the two cameras before buying them. -

Nope, 640 is the lowest you can go with the V-log. I will do some more detailed test (V-log vs. HLG as well) and upload everything to my blog, but I have a shoot next week and I have to prep. -

The left one is the S1, the right one is the Pocket (you can spot easily, because it's "cropped", aka 4K DCI). Download the sample clips and try to push your own grade to it's limits. I'm not a colorist, just quickly graded these two clips After I uploaded them, I noticed that I pushed the Pocket highlights a bit too much. The braw has the information (highlights max at 80 IRE) but the brightest parts of the screengrabs are over 100 IRE. I only had the Pocket on one shoot and got the V-log license yesterday ? So, I will upload more sample clips probably so everyone can get the idea what are these two toys capable of. -

Hey folks, I made a quick test comparing the BMPCC 4K with the S1 V-Log. Here are my thoughts with the sample clips It was a quicky, so do not take that a professional reference, but you can play with the footages in resolve to see how they hold up against each other. -

It's f... useless... Come on, like you have to export the serial number from your camera and upload it to their servers... It's like harassing... -

Finally I have received the FW upgrade code from Panasonic. I will shoot some test footages during this weekend and make it downloadable for you so you can compare how does V-log hold up against the BMPCC4K. -

Just checked my brand new 50mm STM and my 85mm USM and they are fine. If it's from the adapter, you might want to get in touch with Panasonic reps. -

The UK deal with the FW upgrade + MC-11 adapter made me switch. The image is very gorgeous, but the autofocus is is rubbish with the Canon USM lenses. -

So, this auto slowmo feature is pissing me off pretty much. No chance to set ISO, aperture or shutter speed. Sets camera automatically to 125 shutter for 125fps, dfq, shouldn't you have twice the framerate? At least they could add shutter degrees... -
Thanks for your input. Does not matter if the footage is graded or not, it looks bad TImeline resolution seems okay, resulution is not overriden Even If i create new timelines, the issue is still there If I import the clips separately to a new project, the export seems okay. But I don't wish to transfer everything to a new project via XML because than I loose all my grades, etc. Reinstalled resolve to 16.1 - that did not help either Here's a sample clip: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1g2dNhZDSR2YoyDDCdJAW2u5WBCzdIVJV I also posted to BMD forums, but seems like no one had the time since early morning to aproove my post...

I felt the same way... I am still waiting for the upgrade key, i will upload some test footages once I have upgraded. -
Hey, thanks for your reply. Yep, I generated optimised media, but like I wrote, I had no issues yesterday while exporting the Raw footage. I tried to grade them today and also messed with the settings and this is what I've got. I also went through the topic you linked but that did not help as well I tried to nest the timeline, change the projects settings, but the 4K RAW is coming out of the resolve like it's 480p.

Resolve guys, please help me resolve this issue I'm new to the SW so there might be some options I overlooked. For days, I had no issues with exporting footage from resolve. Today something happened No matter what kind of output I choose, the quality is rubbish like at the photo attached Any guess what went wrong? This is a Ursa Mini G2 raw footage, graded from BMD film. Even if I export this from raw, it's still pixilated, banding, etc. The screen was made from an uncompressed export. I'm runing on Resolve 16 Studio, PC, 32GB RAM, Nvidia 1060, i7. Thanks a lot for your replies!

Dear S1 owners, does any of you use CANON FD glass? I was wondering if it's possible to connect FD's with an adapter like this to the MC-21 adapter. I'm not sure if the flange distance will be correct or not, does any of you have any experience? Thanks for sharing! -

What do you mean by that? You can't set shutter or ISO in slowmo mode or what is the manual control loss?
