First 5dmkiv is going to get a crop reduction and C-log…..now ML releases 4K in the 5dmkiii….this looks like a conspiracy perfectly orchestrated between Canon and ML to hit in the heart of the GH5……and for some reason looks like it is working as they expected…..the camera has just been released and does`t look like the best option now……my Gosh!!!!

My gosh…..Just imagine what ML will be able to do with the 5Dmkiv……ML really rocks!!!

5Dmkiii now can shoot 4K, OMG, I see the light at the end of the tunnel…..probably that could be an option for you

To be honest, I think each person has the right to re-evaluate his next camera purchase, certainly GH5 was the only option just a month ago for many people, since there was nothing similar in the market, but now with the new Canon rumors, if at least part of them are true, like crop reduction and C-log, 5dmkiv could be really a good option for a lot of people, and certainly most of these people will not have the option to purchase both systems, therefore a delay in their purchase decision until real information is available is a logical step in order to spend their money in the system which better fit their shooting style.

The answer was regarding if peaking was a break dealer like DPAF, it is not, is it a great feature?, yes of course, but anyone can live without it with relativity no big issues, DPAF in the other hand is an amazing tool for docs and run&gun, if I am going to shoot a doc I want it, can I shoot the doc without it?, sure, but the quantity of pressure and work you put out of your shoulders is a lot....no shoot lost due to bad focus, that's just fantastic!!! If I am more oriented to fiction, then probably Canon is not the right tool, I use a Red One for that kind of shooting......and I would love an ARRI Now, I could not be more less excited about the GH5, is it a great tool?, sure, for the right people and projects, will I use it?, no way, I have Canon glasses, I don`t want to use a metabones, and if the rumors are true, at least part of it, like reduction of the crop factor and C-log, I will choose a 5Dmkiv over a GH5 any day of the week.

I think Andrew already have one but he is hiding it from all of us!!!!!…. Most people don`t have the money to go with both systems, so they have to choose, and I just quoted above one guy who was going to get a GH5 and decided to wait until this canon upgrade become real and then take a better decision, and guess what, I am sure a lot more will follow his example…..

I think people is already reconsidering their move on the GH5

I really wonder if Canon has such thing like plan-B, or after a while they realize they have to fulfill filmmaker niche and start working on it at full speed....

If focus peaking is your deal breaker I guess you have never filmed in celluloid, I have shoot in 35mm with a Konvas and 16mm with an eclair NPR, you can not imagine how tiny is the viewfinder in the NPR, of course I didn`t have focus peaking and never needed, there is something called focus chart, probably you should familiarize with it, DPAF is another history, for doc and run&gun is a bless.....yeap, as a filmmaker I could not care less about peaking....

10bit vs 8bit, is there any noticeable difference?, yes, but only for the expert eye, and give a little more room to push in post, so it is really not a break dealer, and guess what, you have the chance to get RAW from ML in the future....mmmm!!!! focus peaking.....I don`t care, i am a filmmaker, all i need is DPAF from Canon..... let`s see the price...GH5 = $2,000 , but you also need metabones = $700 , total $2,700 Canon 5dmkiv, BHphoto = $3,400, but I saw it for $2,700 on ebay since last week from a store in NYC, and guess what?, yeap, it just sold out minutes after the announcement of crop factor reduction.... I will chose this 5dmkiv over GH5 any day of the week, and I am sure many GH5 preorders will not be sleeping well tonight....

Looks like Canon is finally going to given us what we all were waiting for.....but I don`t think ML will hack the 5dmkiv anytime soon, they are focused in something else.....but if they did.....just imaging a Canon with 4K raw.....a total revolution like the 5dmkii

OMG!!!....1.27x for DCI 4K and 1.29x for UHD 4K, plus C-log....sorry GH5, but Canon is going to bit you hard, no way I could choose a GH5 over a 5dmkiv now....

Don`t waste your money and time with cheap chinese crap, get a Tiffen, they are very good for the price, I have a variable ND and I can assure you will satisfy all your needs...

I totally agree, and to be honest, I am not going to spend $2,000 plus $700 metabones for this setup, I am far more excited for the C-log in 5d mark iv with a reduction in the crop factor, if that happen I am going to break my account to get that camera, hope not to spend some time in jail...

I support the above recommendation for the nature of your projects, a G7 with a Chinese speedboster will be a good combination and stays in your budget, also a basic rig will be needed, if you go to ebay probably you can even add an external monitor and still stay under $800...

I see it cherry red as well, probably you need to check white balance in you camera, can you upload a small footage sample so we can play with it in Davinci?

I totally understand your point ether, and is very valid, but I think many people is going to choose the GH5 to use it with a metabones, which is adding 700 more bucks to the credit card, and if Canon release this upgrade for free (finger crossed), well, it will certainly cut some GH5 profit….

I mean color and skintones, yes, Fuji is OK for me too, but i stay with Canon, FF over M43 or APS-C any day of the week, just personal choice…..
