  1. I am hoping the same too, really don`t like sony look at all, so my hopes are here, otherwise will have to go canon route....sadly.
  2. That will be great, I am so tempted by the XC10, and now it is even cheaper, by the way, how do you compensate in low light ?, another camera ?, lighting? , or the XC10 codec is good enough?
  3. Hi Mercer, have you ever used the XC10 with a steadicam?, any issue with this set up?
  4. It`s not only the 10 bit 4:2:2, it is also the sensor, GH5 should have at least a sensor so good like in the GX80, which is a lot more cinematic than the sensor in the GH4, with better low lights and cleaner, so the step from the GH4 to GH5 could be huge. If not, hey Canon! here I go again!!!
  5. Skin-tones, f….king yellowish RED cameras skin tones, but at least is RAW, and davinci with some good LUTs are your best friends!!!!!

    Canon XC15

Andrew, just one question, can the XC10 be used in a steadicam?, or is it not designed for that?
  7. I just can`t believe this!!!!!, is this real? it is hard to believe that 5D IV had the same jello than A6300, really would like to see a second source test.
  8. I have been waiting for the GH5 for months, and there is no way I will get a M43 for $2,500, I'll pick up a Sony A6300, a GX85 or a canon XC10, the price should stay around $1,500 or going other route, and I am sure many will do the same
  9. Finally we have 10-bit 4:2:2 internally, this is a huge step, since others will stat to do the same, the age of 8-crapy-bit is over!!!!!!
  10. That's what i mean, storage, but if the quality is good enough could be worthy, anyone has a video example in this codec?
  11. 1.64 crop doesn`t look too bad……..totally usable after all….but the codec is going to hurt anyway.
  12. I am just thinking, can ML fix this disaster?, anyone knows if ML has a chance to change the 4k crop
  13. Chuck, unfortunately this is something that can not be totally fixed, the only way is doing ADR like Bioskop suggested, I had a similar situation in some dialogues and i was able to fix it first using Adobe Audition as you did, you get rid of part of the problem but make sure you are not distorting the signal, then i just cut every actor dialogue when it started and finished, so i just kept the actor voice, then i did foley to add any other sound showed in the screen (steps, scratched, etc), and finally I was able to cover the voice little issue adding some ambient sound, could be a street sound, music, etc….I did all this because of i was unable to do ADR for all actors, but when it was possible i did ADR which is the best way to fix it, I know how hard is this sound problem, next time I suggest you to use an audio preamp with your camera, Juicelink is very good and they are not so expensive, and always , always, monitor your sound, sound is so much important, if the sound is bad the movie is bad. Good luck and i hope you are able to fix it.
  14. Nothing more dangerous than a fool using a crapy-stabilizer, most probably a Tiffen-steadicam could afford the stupid dancing…..
  15. There are people showing videos in youtube where they also use small fan mounted in the rig and reporting continuos recording without overheating…..I also have now the 6300 in my radar, I love the sensor, but not sure if the camera can be used for gun and run. Milton, have you use it for gun and run?, can you share your experience?
  16. Not at all, for a few bucks more I can buy a Red Raven, I can`t believe somebody will pay US7,500 for this camera, there are so many better options with better prices out there…..
  17. totally agree….a lot of people don't like 3D, I don't, and if this new technology is really implemented after some years, it will only be seen as another option in the menu, 24 fps will continue as the king of the party…..
  18. Well, the dream of an affordable 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 camera has been buried, all companies decided to protect their professional lines, and looks like we will see the same patron the rest of the year, I have no hope, most probably GH5 will be another 8-bit 4:2:0, we will have to live with what we have, which is certainly a lot, but for some reason I still feel is not enough, strange, and why the stupid A6300 can only be used in the arctic?, my hopes now lie in the NX1 hack…...
  19. what about 4K video element + Blackmagic new 4K recorded…..Total = 1,399 + 895 = 2,294….and we have full 4K camera with excellent audio and very light…..could be a winner?
  20. That is subject to your shooting stile, and the weight of each module, I know what you mean with the pre-amp, I already have that solution implemented in a R1, but a small recorded like a Zoom H1 with a a good shotgun (Sennheiser or equivalent) is a king winner……and it is also showing you the levels, but all this has to be seen with real tests, for example the audio in a R1 is good, with a pre-amp is better, but still not so good like the H1, it's going to be interesting the early days of December…. ND slide is a winner, the concept is really modern, I liked a lot, this is good news for everybody!!!
  21. Well, the audio module can be excluded if it is not good enough, most of the cameras have horrible audio recording and you are forced to use an external recorded, but the tests from early adopter will show us that, and also the power could be replaced for a gun and run set-up using a battery belt or something similar which can release some weight from the shoulder, it looks very OK and the price looks even better, but we will need a brave early adopter who can show us the real thing in December, hope not to see any aliasing/moire/artifact issues or overheating….
  22. I liked the modularity concept, also the price, also the ProRes, which i am assuming is 4:2:2, so early December we should expect to see some good video reviews from the early adopters…...
  23. I almost fall sleep with the boring sony event…..looks like 2016 NAB could be a disappointing after all...
  24. ohhhh yes, please give us the details if a new camera is announced, or a patch for the overheating issue in the A6300 (this is just a nap dream,we all now it's not going to happen).
  25. ohhhhh…..I hope so….I really need a small 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 without overheating……
