  1. naaaaah, next year we will have an 8K for cheap, this is not investment, it is just expense, nobody here needs something like that, SH1, C200, you can get much for less, disappointing really.
  2. $10K in the range of a lot of people, in this time, really?, 99% here will never spend that money in a camera, who needs 8K?, I do not see the advantage over a SH1, a pocket with 6K, something like that could have been much more interesting, not this.
  3. that new camera is out of the range of 99% of the people here, it is for medium/big productions, I was expecting a pocket, not this.
  4. yeah, looks like he has a serious issue there
  5. ey Mercer, you finally come back, I missed you comments on R5 and R6 topics
  6. rolling shutter looks bad in 25P, muck worst than the z6, real test will show the exact numbers but looks like is above 30ms.
  7. Fuck again Canon, crap micro HDMI screwed up even more, anyone here know if an Atomo Ninja Assassin will work with the R6?
  8. F.........K canon, R6 is even worst than R5 managing the heat. We are screwed, I can't work with these cameras unless there is an alternative solution, external recording maybe?, cage with fan?, ohh gosh, what a mess!!!
  9. that's something that always happen with digital cameras sometimes, nothing that a good ND+IR filter can solve.
  10. unfortunately issues could happen with any camera, I have shoot ruined by a Red camera, but anyway, you have to choose the best tool for the job, I don't see me choosing a camera with record time issues even before starting the shoot, no way, I hope with an external recorded the issues with the R5 can be fixed.
  11. whoever is preordering a R5 also should preorder a vent!!! most probably we will soon see some dedicated solution cages with coolers added to reach the 30 minutes limit, and maybe two or three more iterations, but probably the best solution will be an external recorded, I hate them anyway, so probably best for me is R6 route.
  12. to be honest. I have never done an interview that lasted less than 1 hour, never happened to me.
  13. Totally agree, R6 route is the path to follow, anyway, I will wait first to see the new Sony, but as soon as I see that zombie crappy skin tone I will press the Botton on the R6.
  14. yes, we will see those upcoming accessories to keep temperature under control, but why I am going to spend $4k for a camera that needs an accessory to be probably reliable, no way, the smart choice is the R6, if there is no overheating issues, anyway, I will wait for reliable tests on both canons and the new Sony and make a smart choice based on that.
  15. it will help, this was already tested with the A6300, I remember a guy who built a cage with a vent just in the back of the A6300 and was able to shoot for two or three hors without overheating.
  16. I am sure we will see a lot of this kind of solution over the internet in the next weeks, a dedicated cage with one or two fans is on its way for sure.
  17. Please people, don't be so dramatic, I just find out a cheap solution!!!
  18. 10 minutes is too short, goodbye R5, R6 always looked the route to follow, Sony?, zombie crappy skin tone?, will be get an improvement in Sony colors?
  19. that's very good, another point for the R5, it will be a hard decision between both cameras depending on the RS measure!
  20. probably you will have to wait for a reliable source with RS measure in both cameras at 4k60p and 4k24p, that result will tell you exactly where to go, from paper, looks like it will be the R6 route, but is early to really know.
  21. I really don't see many practical advantages in the R5 over the R6, let's wait for a reliable RS measure at 24p before we make the choice, I think after that many could take R6 route.
  22. This is lack of experience, since it was a budget project, I am assuming the director was also the director assistant, which is the reason for this kind of rookie mistake, once a shoot is completed you can not go back, the director always have to be sure he has the shoot before moving to another, that means after he saw in the monitor exactly what he was looking for, needs to check with sound that everything was OK for that particular shoot.
  23. crazy, H.265 is not widely adopted and now we have H.266, not sure if somebody beside tech nerds are even going to consider it.
  24. It's strange filmmaking, you spend the whole day working from early in the morning, and almost always rushing at the end before the sun is gone, when shooting I sleep like 3 or 4 hours per day, and I am always with my energy at the roof, working like a slave, I don't feel any pain, enjoying even last minutes screw up, and when everything is finished and you are back home, I am like in a coma state for 3 days and need like a week to recover. Sounds like love!!!
