It is a hard choice then, depending on what you are doing, if it is only fiction probably to upgrade is the best path, but if you are doing docs, sometimes two cams are really needed, and in that case a second G7 makes sense....

Yes, the issue is that the guy who has it didn't have enough media for the cam, and I need it running a few hours, the FS7 media is really expensive, and certainly don't want to spend that money in a cam which is not mine, so I choose to get the Ninja, cheap approved 1Tb SSD, and run the FS7 for hours....and since I already have the Ninja, got a cheap GH4 and use it during other projects. hahaha....well, after the project I am working on for the rest of the year is completed, and no need for the FS7 anymore, the Ninja and the GH4 are certainly going to eBay, and will exchange them for a GH5

Unfortunately that's not an option ether, I need the Ninja for longer recording time in a FS7, some times the GH4 is going to be the b camera with the Ninja attached, and others will be the d camera (just for inserts) without the Ninja (Ninja will be in the FS7).

Yeap, I already have the Ninja so no extra cost, I agree, if I didn't have the Ninja I would have got the GH5

I will use it with a Ninja Assassin, so I will get 10-bit 422, and I am getting also a Sigma Art 18-35 f1.8 for it.....mmm!!!!, nop, I think I got a bargain, I told you I was a number 1 class champion on stupid auctions!!!

oooouch!!!!!....I just got a GH4, for just 300 bucks!!!!, including two extra EF to MFT adapters, it was similar or cheaper than some published G7, more cheaper than a G85 and far more cheaper than a GH5, let me do the maths here: GH5 $1.2K - GH4 $300 = $900 --> time to get a Sigma Art 18-35 $600 --> $900 - $600 = $300....I like it, I am going to get an extra lens and there is still money in my pocket. Hard to pass this bargain!!!

That camera is more expensive than a used G7.

Hard to find something cheaper, you will have to get another G7....probably you should get something better and leave the G7 as the b cam,

Well, this new camera is supposed to be my third camera, most of the time will be in a tripod with a Ninja Assassin recording a long shot, a cutaway shot or a close up shot.....what about image quality?, are both similar or the difference is huge?

I would certainly love to get a GH5, but that is around 1K, mmm!!!! tempting , tempting..... what about the GH4?, what do I loose going this way?

Looking at both auctions, I can say I could get a G7 for 150-180 bucks cheaper than a G85, which for me was a good margin to go for the G7, but I need 10-bit for the grading....too bad, anyway, I will certainly get a GH4, probably for a little more than a G85

The stupid auction is the only way to get cheaper prices, I always buy using the stupid auctions and I always get incredible cheaper prices, if you always buy the other way, well, you can paid overprice every time you want to, so yes, I could probably get a G7 for a little more than half a G85, anyway, the 8-bit was the break dealer for me, now I will go for another stupid auction to get a cheaper GH4...

In eBay a G85 cost almost double than a G7, I need a cheap camera now which I can use with an external recorder in 4K, G7 looks very attractive...but.. anyone here knows if the HDMI out in the G7 is 10-bit 422?, or is it 8-bit 422?, has anyone tested a Ninja Assassin to capture 4K in this camera?

Unfortunately this is true, DPAF is the only organic AF out there, in my case the reason I am using Canon for docs, and still didn't see any close enough to move.....

Not sure if this really can work, if the subject is moving in an horizontal line no problem, but in a vertical one you will have to continue pressing the focus over him at a certain pace, probably you can master it after some time and get great results, so I hope somebody here with an S1 use it in the real world with subjects on the street and show us the results, I do need an adapter which allow me to use my EF glass in L mount....

mmm!!!....try filmconvert with Kodak, I also would like another grade for the grass, the footage is beautifull and I would use a more vivid green, but you know, personal taste....

can you record more than 5 minutes continue in 4K with the newest model? is it VI or is there a VII now?

Wow, didn't know about this new camera, very interesting, if the 4K works at least 30 minutes continue looks like the winner. RX100 V or VI is nice, but 4k for only 5 minutes is a break dealer, 30 minutes is the minimum I can accept.... The other day I was in downtown and somehow I ended up above a truck in the middle of a street festival....and I didn't have any camera with me!...so frustrating, anyway, I need a pocket camera, something for VIDEO that I can carry with me all the time, including of course the zoom, and I can live with it in one of my front pockets, I was thinking in the canon M with ML, then the M50, later the Z6, now not so sure which could be a good decision, so, if anybody is carrying a camera all the time I would like to hear your comments.....please, only people who is using a camera all the time in their pockets, I really don't need feedback from theoreticians based in their believes....thanks!

You can say that again!!!, add DPAF to this monster and I am all in, but how it is right now, I am out, I need something for one man crew, a focus puller is not included in my budget, and DPAF is the most important, I don't need out of focus 6K footage.....I need something that I can actually use.
