  1. This is some really nice footage, but it is all in Slo Mo, and that tends to mask any problems a camera has. But there is some damn nice output here. I agree if you have extra money this could be worth a look like the PK4. But like the PK4, it needs to be built out, especially it Needs some kind of monitor, not just the Osmo Pocket style LCD it has. But better than nothing.
  2. Other than the Fan and some Buttons, I don't think there is many things that can go wrong with a Cine camera like the FS7. Sounds like a nice deal to me. Not much more than a FS5 to be honest. Check for Hot Pixels though. Only thing that would worry me.
  3. The guy makes some good points, but comes off as a Pompous Ass. He needs to stick to script writing.
  4. Yeah but I think that would take a multi aspect sensor to do that, so that would have to be all new. Panasonic thinks m4/3 is dying or they would not be going the FF route if not. So I am not surprised they are not making a MFT EVA1. The future is higher and higher MP for 8K and beyond. That ain't happening on a small sensor like m4/3. 20mp seems to be pushing it.
  5. Opening up that screen grab he shows shows a Lot of DR. I have never owned a GH5, but I would be amazed if you could get that much data from one. Just my observation.
  6. That was a scary short. Scary how good it was, and scary what can be done, real and imagined. Super well done.
  7. I like the review, it was short and sweet, damn short! ?
  8. Down at the bottom it mentions Vegas. That sort of hints at a Sony video camera to be honest. But it just doesn't look like Sony footage to me. They were pretty clean looking then. It is sort of confusing. The info in the link below hints at snippets of Film, but there is no real older film shots in it. They are all involving her, so I think it is a fake Film look using the MX. Not really hard to do with a MX One. They have a gritty film look to them ooc. Now the Mysterium X had a cleaner look and more DR. And the 5000 dollars is no surprise. An Avid editing program license back then was like $80,000.00 a seat. Got to pay for that somehow, not counting the editing suite equipment, and real estate space. http://lanadelrey.wikia.com/wiki/National_Anthem_(song)
  9. You should have just bought a GH5s and been done with it LoL. ?
  10. I would almost bet all of it was shot on a video camera. Yeah, Red One MX would be in the running. That video was released in 2012. It was edited with Sony Vegas Pro 13.
  11. Pretty good looking footage. Some Morie' for sure though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssR_8FmIs8A
  12. I don't know if this has been on here earlier or not. Informative video non the less.
  13. Ehh been hitting up the punch bowl at work have you. ?
  14. And Merry Christmas to you, and all the fine, upstanding people on here. Hmm , I am counting, 1.2.3......Hmm. ?
  15. Plus I don't think you are going to get any super good video or audio recording a band with just one camera and one mike in one location. It is going to look and sound pretty amateur to be honest. But I doubt you have much choice, at best you are at least going to have to have at least 2 good mikes. The C100 can handle that. I would not use the internal mikes at all in that circumstance. Even a cheap Karaoke mike would be better than those. But the person that knows this stuff better is @IronFilm
  16. Well there is no doubt that the output will be better than smartphone output overall just because of the better Gimbal Stabilization alone, not counting near or close to as good of footage. So for the intended audience it is a winner for sure. I think they will sell an amazing amount of them. As to Pro usage, well just like smartphones I don't think either is there yet, but in a few more years they might be a heck of a lot closer than the big camera manufacturers might like LoL. If they can do zoom lenses on them, folded optics, that alone will bring them up a lot. And you know someone is going to come up with a new, modern, 1" one and that might be sort of an enough quality increase to make a real impact for the vast majority of people. Sure they are never going to be an Arri, but not everyone is shooting for a Blockbuster Movie either.
  17. The internal mikes on a C100 mk II are more for scratch audio than full blown audio recording. I am not surprised they are not so hot for recording on in front of a stage. Surely the Rode is much better.
  18. I am sure every manufacturers Sensors are unique color wise. It is maybe not built into them on purpose, but different configurations are going to have different results I don't care what you do. Then you get into Lossless and non Lossless and it all gets goofier. Then you get stuff like Fuji with the X-Trans mask on a Sony sensor. That has to effect Raw like it or not. Heck even lenses recipes effect output. I also believe each "Brand" tries to add a bit of their own secret sauce to the mix as they say like it or not.
  19. The only thing I know of that Amazon sells is sometimes returned damaged goods, or damaged from their Warehouse. 99.9% of everything on Amazon is sold buy a Vendor, just your next door neighbor, whatever and amazon ships it to you. They never own it in reality. So in essence Amazon doesn't guarantee shit on them, the seller is the one who is responsible for the correct info on the product. Yeah they will let you send it back and take the money out of the sellers account if you do it quick enough, but it is not "Amazon" that is really the seller. or owner.
  20. Have you used any other lens on that Speedbooster?? If that Rokinon is designed like a Canon EF-S lens it is not going to work.
  21. Oldie but Golide cameras. https://crewscontrol.com/wp-content/uploads/images/uploads/2011_Digital_Camera_Comparison_Chart.pdf
  22. I have hardly scratched the surface on this thing, but one thing I have noticed a reasonable amount in the limited time I have used it, is a lot of Wonky looking lens flair in video and photo mode in sunny conditions. I Ain't liking that too much I can tell you that. I have seen the same thing in other people's videos so it isn't just my copy of phone doing it. That could be a bummer. There has been precious few moments of sunlight in the last week to check it out more. Time will tell I guess. Might be the first damn camera that needs a lens hood LoL. I hope not. Sure doesn't appear to be something you could fix in a Firmware update?
  23. Yeah mine are just to show how much detail this phone can have. I find the photo of the Tractors amazing. I mean I just jumped out of the car, walked 20 feet and shot. Now for the screen grabs I have not tried any editing or LuTs. Was just also impressed with the clarity of them. I can always tone down something, but you sure can't add what is not there. These new iPhones are the cats ass for something that is with you in your pocket all the time. Apple has some magic mojo going on here. I might not live to see it, but man 5, 10 years from now this stuff is going to be unimaginable. The dream of affordable broadcast stuff, let alone some of it being able to be in your pocket, who would have even thought possible?
  24. I took these today with my Apple XS. First one is a photo, no extra lens, second one is a screen grab from a 4K 24p video with a Moment Tele lens attached. Both when clicked open have pretty amazing sharpness, and the colors are spot on both, and they are right ooc, no editing. Pretty amazing stuff from a phone. The gap is shrinking that is for sure. And the 3rd shot is also a frame grab from the same little short I shot and it has amazing clarity on the street signs on the bottom left corner. This Video Smart HDR is pretty damn impressive. And these are all handheld to boot. And these we just using the iPhone photo, video app, not Filmic Pro. Haven't even tried it yet with the new update.
  25. I think it comes down to what look you are looking for. No doubt in my mind the PK4 has a more "modern" look to it. More GH5s to be honest, but with a more film look than the Panny. The Original Pocket has a purer film look to me, that the PK4 I think it is not going to have no matter how hard you try. But I think the PK4 "look" is more in style now than the old one. I prefer the old look, but I bet I am in the minority in this day and age, and I think BMD did well to go with the more modern look down the road. So it really boils down to Your likes, and that should be what really matters in the mix of things. I don't think I would do it on a cost savings thing unless you are just destitute LoL. You might regret that decision in a short time. The PK4 is a heck of a lot more polished camera than the original. And if you don't have the Studio version of Resolve a true bargain to boot..
