Yeah I just got my Apple XS and I am blown away farting around the house, the weather here just sucks, I am amazed as to how much better it is than the iPhone X I traded in to get it. I haven't done anything yet with the new Filmic Pro. I have it all, not used it yet. I just got my Moment Anamorphic in the mail today. So with the Moment Tele lens I already have, and the Stedicam Volt I ought to be in pretty good shape. Probably going to need a battery solution and a mike solution also. Right now It is the only camera I even own. I sold all my camera gear, lenses and all to get my Dually truck up and running right. Throwing about 4000 dollars into it. Moving south, going to the Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina first. Not sure where I will end up. Kind of exciting to be honest, and scary a bit also. Probably happen the first of the year.

Hmm no mike input kind of sucks. No 4K either, but since it is a Canon, no surprise. Yeah the flip up screen and DPAF is a big plus.

It is just a matter of cramming more transistors, and light emitting diodes in the same area and having enough sensitivity, enough horsepower, ergo, Computational Mathematics, to make it happen fast enough. This is rocket science on steroids now. It is coming about because of better nano science and AI to control all of it, with real logic, learned logic, not just being programmed to do the same stuff over and over. We are just now getting into enough computation power to make just about anything possible now. We are into trillions, not billions of items on a CPU, especially GPU's now, and trillions of intelligent actions happenings every second. I guess on paper they are using the same photosite more than one time in the flash of a eye as they say. Hell I know know, it is beyond my learning.

Sure it does, it is AI using Computational Mathematics. It is new Voodoo. It is substituting the same thing 3 times to achieve what a larger pixel would have data wise. ?

It is probably along the same lines as the Smart HDR in the new Apple iPhones. The cpu is actually doing HDR in real time on video up to 30p in 4K. This stuff has gotten scary fast, Trillions of operations a second, and AI can do all kinds of crazy stuff now. So Sony is probably getting into Computational Mathematics in a big way now. This new Sony a7s mk III might end up being a whole new kind of camera. Nothing we have ever seen before. A camera that actually thinks, I mean Really thinks. That is what the iPhone XS, XS Max does in HDR video, it actually thinks in a sense. It decides when more DR is needed or not based on content. It is not a constant thing like in the past. It is making sort of conscious decisions. Scary shit when you think about it. And it is in your pocket, Yikes! ?

Hmm, that could have been shot on just about anything out today. Not impressed. At least not with That video. But if you are into FF video, using a Cine body, it is for sure the cheapest way to do it. But the output looks nice, but nearly all the newer stuff looks good with skill now. It is not going to be long before the days of 50,000 dollar Arri's are a thing of the past. The gap is closing at a alarming rate if you are the one building the high end stuff. The cost to put any of these new mirrorless cameras in a Cine style box can't be 1000 bucks more to do. Most all of them have a big ass heat sink and a fan in them, and 1 1/2" of it is the electronics, and 1" for the sensor. Look at the new Sony Venice with the detachable front to it.

Yeah but you can probably buy a Canon C200 for what that will cost. I will take the C200 please. But yeah you are right it is due and it will probably be better hopefully. The mk II is damn good now so if it is better, man would be nice if you can afford it..

Yeah with the current tech just about anything, even the new DJI Pocket or a Smartphones can intermix, especially in 4k now. Video has come a Long way in the last couple of years. Amazing advances for the average person.

Well if I was into photos big time a Nikon D850, even a D810 would have to be at the top of the list if money was not a concern. Yeah m4/3 cameras are pretty good for photos, but they are not close to FF territory when they have a high MP count. That is why I am not too sure this new Olympus is really going to be a smash hit. Sure well heeled EM1 shooters will buy it but..

That is really not too bad. Not many cameras other than a Sony A7s kick ass at night.

No Cine profiles that i know of. The Sony A9 has no Picture Profiles, LUTs, SLOG2, or SLOG3.
