Yeah this is going to be a great camera for Birders, Sports, etc. Sounds like a dream Photo camera for me, but Wow 3000 bucks. That is sort of past my income bracket.

I never have owned a A6000 series camera, but i would imagine the A6300 was close to the same as a a7s? I have never worn glasses so maybe that helps me, I don't know. But I had my original A7, A7r and never ever owned a native lens for them. Always used old MF FF lenses. But it was mostly for Photos, so on average I had the time to tweak it.

Yeah but as of now I don't think you can buy any kind of TV that is less than 4K? So when all the old ones goes belly up everyone will have 4K like it or not. Now whether there is any 4K content to watch that is a different story. Yeah but you, me, us are mostly looking at it as a Movie thing. If you are a cooking channel, a Doc shooter, Wildlife shooter, shooting your kids, vacation of a lifetime, etc, you want footage that is bleeding sharp, and that is 4K. Not everything has to be Filmic, Cine like. Hell most people have no clue what that even means. It is like Photos, most people want them sharp, and video just like it. It is like this new iPhone XS I just got. The video out of it is crazy sharp good or bad. And I would bet for the vast majority of people they will be happy as heck it is that way. Even me for a lot of things. It is what happens to be in vogue, in style right now and it is not going away.

Speaking of New Releases, this video is really informative about that subject. Kind of long, but really interesting. It will make you re think about upgrading.

Pretty good honest review of the Pocket, Warts and all.

Here is a video showing the Rolling shutter on Apple XS Max, would be the same for a XS. I think it is pretty damn impressive for a Smartphone. Yeah Pocket not as good.
-
I know peaking was pretty damn good in my Sony a7s. I used it all the time with MF lenses.

I mean a lot of people, but yeah they would weigh a Lot!

Yeah easy to spend someone else's money, but the GH5 sounds like a no brainier. The same body layout alone is a huge plus, not counting the same menu layout also. The GH5 is just about impossible to beat for video, and even the photos are not bad, and for the price used, they are a steal.

That video is pretty wonderful. You did a great job, even audio wise..

Humping around a FF Nikon or a Canon with a 600mm lens is just asinine to be honest. You look like a goof ball doing it. Very true, but there is a TON of people on DPR particularly that are BiF shooters and they will buy one in a heartbeat. Most are using a EM1, EM1 mk II now. They have the money to throw at that body. And @ 18fps they will be happy campers LoL. The Panny 100-400mm or the Olympus 300mm are really small for the reach. A no brainier for that kind of shooting. A EM1 with the 100-400mm is an amazingly small package. https://admiringlight.com/blog/review-panasonic-leica-100-400mm-f4-6-3-dg-vario-elmar-ois/ http://naturalexposures.com/mirrorless-telephoto-comparison-leica-fuji-nikon-olympus/

Yeah but this 3000 dollar price is a bit scary for just 20mp and a m4/3 sensor. I mean 20mp really is enough but. But wow the body looks nice. It would make a damn nice, light, long lens kit though. That is probably it's strong selling point.

Was it Northern Exposure? I loved that show. And yeah a Zoo is a great place to go even if you don't even shoot anything LoL.
-
There is not a lot of Mooses, is that a word?, around where I live. Maybe a big, well a really big dog or something. The local Zoo in Cincinnati might have a Moose, but I doubt it. There are some Moose Lodges around. Maybe they have a fiberglass one I can borrow? ?

What about putting it in like a Zip Lock bag and having the Gimbal part hang out? You could still push the buttons. Have you guys seen this comparison? I got my new Apple XS phone 2 days ago. Nothing but rain pretty much now. The sharpness on it is pretty amazing in Photo HDR mode of my shed. Colors on photo are pretty much spot on. Right out of camera, like the second picture I ever took with it, no editing.

Sometimes Carbon Fiber tripods or monopods are heavier than aluminum ones. I have a Carbon Fiber Manfrotto and it is heavy as hell. But you could sit a Moose on it I think.

Speaking of Phones and Pockets. Impressive. https://www.filmicpro.com/cinematographer-kit/

The a7r II uses the IMX251 sensor, and it is 42mp at a pixel size of 4.50. So the IMX435 using a pixel size of 4.88, sounds logical at 36mp. But the a7s mk II has a 8.40 pixel size. So it is almost twice the pith size of the new IMX251. I have no clue how it is going to super good at low light, even with 6 native ISO's? Hard to believe they could jump up the tech that much in one generation.

Not total rocket, but this could have uses for certain things.

What Do Y'all Think of The Kinefinity Mavo LF?
webrunner5 replied to Zach Goodwin2's topic in Cameras
Well if you have been a Canon 5D user you are Still waiting for a FF 4K camera. -
You can buy a GH5 for 1100 dollars. Just sell the GH4.

Lens problems mostly. You can't use their lenses on other cameras, and other camera lenses don't play well on the Fuji body. And that mechanical aperture knob makes smoother Iris control in the lens for video jerky. They sort of boxed their selves in on that part. And not many good lenses with OIS in them linked to a body with no IBIS, no sale for me. Now for Photo mode not really as big of a problem. But video, nah not so good.

Blackmagic Design Production Camera 4K has a global shutter, and they are under 1000 bucks. I sort of like that camera. Forgot about it.
-
Yeah but it is a FUJI, Yikes. I don't want no stinking Fuji.
-
A Arri Alexa is shit in low light LoL. The Pocket is 350 dollars! You expect Canon C200 results? RS, you have to have a 6 thousand plus dollar camera with a Global Shutter to have great RS.
