Not on the new ones. The Smart HDR, plus bigger sensor on the new Apple XS, XS Max has jumped up the quality, clarity. Sure it is not an Arri Alexa, but even the low light is vastly improved in it. It is a hell of a lot sharper than most Canon cameras are even in 4K. But that is not saying much. The gap is getting smaller every day. The Pixel 3 is no slouch anymore either. This video is pretty amazing for a Phone. Sure it is sharpened and the Saturation is high, but still it is impressive in detail and DR. Hell of a lot better than 1080p that is for sure.

I help support like 8 different people on YouTube through Patreon and most of them use a Canon 80D as their main, but all of them seem to have a DJI Drone of some kind, and a GoPro and about the only way you can see a difference is yeah it is a overhead view so they are using the Drone, and yeah they are underwater so they are using their GoPro. Even some Smartphone footage thrown in at times. Now granted they are not shooting Hollywood movies, but most of them are really well done. I think particularly 4K has leveled the playing field and it is getting easier to interlace footage now. Is it perfect, no, is it good enough probably yes for most amateur, semi Pro stuff. Wedding event people have been using all kinds of different stuff combined for years. Look at even the crash cams big time movies use. Sure it is in short cuts, but if the story is good enough you really don't pay that much attention to camera work unless it just sucks being out of focus or blurry as heck etc.. Video has come a Long way in the last few years. It is all becoming pretty amazing on big and small devices. If you have skill you can do about anything.

Yeah I agree. I just ordered a iPhone XS and will be here tomorrow. So iPhone X gets traded in. The better DR is what has impressed me the most, and low light seems Way better. I will soon find out. I found this video pretty amazing figuring it is shot on a phone. It has a a7s look to it in some of the night shots to me. These phones are doing some pretty crazy stuff with AI. Supposedly it can do a Trillion AI computations a photo doing HDR! And the A12 Bionic can compute as many as 5 trillion operations per second! But I still want to get the Osmo Pocket. The Gimbal and size are too good to pass up. I have a Stedicam Volt for my iPhone. Not the easiest thing to use. But it can work pretty good for the money it cost.

And people are going to buy 3500 dollar Nikon's, a 2500 dollar GH5s by the thousands. Yeah right. Who even prints anymore? A Smartphone is more than good enough for YouTube, Instagram, vacations. Nikon, Olympus, Pentax stand a snowballs chance in hell surviving down the road.

You ever heard of a rear LCD LoL. Hell they even make EVF's now! I am too old to read the ones on the top anyways. I have had lots of cameras years ago that had them, I never got much into them. Always hard to read outdoors then. When you only had 10, 12, 36 shots it didn't much matter what it said. It was resetting all the time LoL. You took 5 shots, packed up and went home. ? I have owned 8 x 10 view cameras where i took them out and Never took one shot. Too expensive to waste a plate on. You guys got it easy now ?

No all those knobs are stupid just like that stupid Nikon body was, can't remember the name. Those days are gone and the knobs are not needed at all. They probably looked at how poorly the JVC LS300 was doing, even though a great concept, and said hell no. A damn camera I would have loved to see get better was the Sony VG10, 15, 30 line. I loved the form factor and size. The VG900 was probably a bridge too far.

True, but Fuji cameras even though innovative has always come across as goofy to the average consumer. Not counting expensive years ago. Now they have 50 models out to confuse the hell out of everyone. I don't think they are going to really gain any ground compared on Sony or Canon. APSC cameras are dying anyways. Nikon will keep slipping back also I think. They won't last.
