Very few customer reviews on it. Like I said sounds too good to be true. But the guy behind it is an experienced video guy. So I guess it might work? It is not crazy expensive unless you go huge. For all you big spends on here, chump change LoL. But it is something you can keep forever so not really that bad.

I just don't think there is enough room at the top for all these manufacturers.

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Personally I am not buying a Nikon or a Fuji anything because there is not a past camera to go to, or upward way to go as of now for video. It is not like Sony, Canon, or BMD where they have older Cine cameras, and new ones to go to if you want to get more serious, or use what you have as a B camera. They have no add on XLR adapters on and on. They are too new for my liking. But they might get better. I would personally buy the EOS-R over the Nikon's and Fuji's because there is a path forward and backwards for them. Just because it is the latest and greatest doesn't mean much in the video world. It's like all this 10bit stuff. Most people don't have a Monitor or a Computer that can take advantage of it or process it. Or the storage space to keep it. 90% of the people on here would be better off with a DPAF C100 and be done with it. Problems solved. Just pick it up and go. No goofy cages, no SSD's, no big time CFast cards. Easy Peezy. -
Go for it. That way you don't have to worry about what cage you have, or not having to use some really light lens. Other than well size and weight it is a no brainier I think for the money they cost now. Might as well have the best for really the same money or close to it than less featured products. And you can use it for a full sized DSLR if you want to, or even a C100 stripped down. None of them are stealth, or weigh next to nothing..

I don't see how Olympus has the money to do much of anything. The camera side has been on near bankruptcy for years, mostly because of the scandal at the top, and even the Endoscope business is nearing an end now with new imaging techniques. I think they are crazy to even carry on. Maybe make lenses for others, but to jump big time into the higher end, I think they will lose that battle. They just don't have the R&D money like Sony, Canon does. Neither does Nikon to be honest.

I would imagine there is a variation even in the good ones, who the hell they are LoL, that make it hard to get a good one or end up with a dud. But for the average stuff done on here I doubt it is too noticeable. I have had several variable ones and the cheapest one I have seems the best, go figure. I think unless you pay a 1000 bucks for one, no guarantee there either I bet, it is hit or miss.
-
Yeah 11 stops. I don't think so. That would have to be some kind of miracle if that can happen. I think the only safe way to do it is by using unfortunately, expensive single square filters stacked, and even then I don't think you should go over 9 stops.
-
Oh my God Fuji fans are far worse than Sony fans, even on here.
-
THE VICTORY OF CONCRETE would be the correct English way. But I guess you are referring to the Buildings and Roads being constructed of concrete? Concrete also can refer to a rock solid idea or effort etc..

Well for one thing the grade is pretty bad, and a ND filter is not suppose to change colors at all if it is worth a crap. All it is going to do is let you use a slower shutter speed, or for photo a different aperture for DoF. It should not really help or hurt the grade at all. Now cheap ones tend to shift colors and that is Not what you want. ND filters for video are so you can help keep your 180 degree shutter rule mostly
-
Yeah but they only go to 5 stops. Even the cheap ones do fairly good to 4 or 5 stops on average. It is when you push them to the max they get the X thingy. But yeah I am sure the Schneider-Kreuznach ones are top notch stuff that Ought to work well, and if you have the money they are the way to go if you can get by with that little of ND's. I really don't think Any of the variable ones seem to work when you get up to 6 stops or more.

Well I sure would not sell the 14mm. What are you going to do for wide angle if you sell it?

Looks like GoPro has a firmware update to help with slow pan stuttering and low light jitters.

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I use AFC on most of the stuff I shoot. I gave up shooting trees. I talked about that in another thread. So it would be a no go for me. But for you I guess it works, and that is fine. -
Not the best test I ever saw, but I have the iPhone X myself, so interesting for me at least. Pocket in reality seems a lot better overall than the iPhone in just about every respect. The Panorama was a Huge difference. Definitely a better Vlog camera, not that I would be doing that often LoL. I am definitely going to get one in a month or so. Hard to beat for something as small and easy to use, with not a lot of fuss.
-
Well it won't help the grade, but yeah it would get rid of the odd looking artifacts in most of it.

webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Well it is their first effort. It is not going to be perfect even with a bunch of Firmware updates. It will take a few more generations to get up to speed. -
Well to their credit they have changed the equipment they use to test with, and as we see it all seems a lot lower for every camera they have tested, or re tested. Now is it completely true DR I don't know. But at least it is a consistent test, much like DXO is. Like it or not I think it is more realistic than the manufacturers state, and a lot of silly stuff on YouTube from some Vlogger.

Why would you buy a camera that knowingly sucks for AFC? That screws you both on the Photo and Video side. What you just going to take photos, videos of a tree in your back yard with no wind? -

So you are saying the E2 has a sensor in it no other camera in the world has? -

That might be a pretty extreme test of it. I guess if you don't hit anything with it it might be OK. Kind of crazy. I have seen some really good footage out of some, and kind of somewhat bad out of some. Might be different frame rates, user error mostly I guess?

New video showing the new Firmware features. This guy found out you can use it on a iPad Mini. Hit it though on an extreme movement.

New low light test. Man this thing is really pretty damn good in low light. 3200 ISO max but..
