Maybe he is talking about This 18-55mm LoL. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/883530-REG/Fujifilm_XF_18_55mm_f_2_8_4_OIS.html

Yeah, and look how well that worked out.
-
I would be amazed if a DSLR and a Mirrorless camera could use the same sensor.
-
I think that it is a new sensor manufactured by Sony which I don't think the D850 has. Also it seems to be a lot more noisy than the D850 camera. But just a guess on my part. https://***URL removed***/news/1234108119/nikon-d850-sensor-confirmed-as-sony-made

180 shutter degree rule for 60fps content
webrunner5 replied to @yan_berthemy_photography's topic in Cameras
That is the one of the reasons they made ND filters. If you shoot video, especially a camera with a Log in it, you have to own ND filters -
Yeah lots of Sony sensors have Dual Gain. Like I said the Sony a7 III has a more pronounced graph than the Z6. It is not a dual ISO camera. Doesn't mean it is Dual ISO like a GH5s, PK4. It is so you can have a lower base ISO for Photography. Trust me if either the Z6 or the Z7 has Dual ISO in the Video side it would have been in Large print at the top of their Spec Sheet, and white papers. It would have been Bragging rights. They would have had examples all over the Web. https://petapixel.com/2018/06/15/the-nikon-d850s-sensor-is-made-by-sony-report/ "This news confirms what Sony told us about the way its semiconductor company deals with external clients: other companies can commission Sony Semiconductor to make them a sensor and can include their own intellectual property in the design, without that information (or the rights to use it) being available to Sony’s camera division. Hence the D850 features the BSI and dual gain designs that Sony uses in many of its own cameras but is also able to provide an ISO 64 mode that allows the Nikon to rival some of the latest medium format cameras, but that Sony cameras don’t offer."

I think just about every camera has a bump in ISO on his test. Plug in a few different late version cameras and they all have some sort of boost or dip in them. I don't think there is any dual ISO going on in a Nikon Z camera at all. The Sony A7 mk III has a Way bigger jump than the Nikon Z7. http://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm Here is the Nikon Z6 test.

Hmm speaking of mp4 on a GH5 , interesting article about the GH5 firmware. And no I don't think there is a big difference between mp4 to ProRes 422 editing speed wise. They are both pretty simple Codecs. http://www.capetowntours.photography/panasonic-gh5-all-intra-firmware-update-10bit-400mbps-hdr/

Looks like no Waveform, RGB Parade, or Zebras. Hmm. -
And this guy sure as hell isn't going to be able to afford two wireless Lav mikes and receivers, or even a setup with both plugged into a recorder. And I doubt he is going to carry around a boom mike and stand either. That is why the average persons audio sort of sucks, but hey it is what it is. Use a shotgun mike on a adapter like @IronFilm suggested.
-
Reporter mikes can be just as stupid as a shotgun mike. How many interviews have you seen where the "reporter" takes the mike away from the person before they are even finished talking, and vice versa. It happens all the time. During NAB shows seems to be the worse. Drives me crazy. At least the shogun mike has the same coverage all the time not in and out like a lot of reporter mikes are used a lot. People don't normally talk back and forth to each other and just abruptly stop at every question. It is un natural as hell.

True, but if you are not too good at flying you don't want to buy a 4000 dollar drone. Some of their stuff is not hard to fly. -

Yeah figuring about 80 bazillion movies have been made on a s35 sensor which has around a 1.5 crop.

Where I live, in the Cincinnati, Oho area there is Very few movie theaters even left. Most were in Shopping Malls and a lot of them have closed also here. And the big, nice theaters in the downtown areas have been closed for 30, 40 years. Urban Blight is all that it is there now. In the town of 24,000 I live in there is No movie theater, it is a Bar, Restaurant now, and only one drive in movie left for 50 miles, 20 miles away from here. I am sure kids know more places around than I do LoL. They are all not gone I know that much. ?

Big time Producers, Directors are never going to go with something that is efficient as heck. The smaller the cast and crew is the less money they make. It is the same thing CEO's, Mangers do. The more people that are under them the more their salary is. Everyone wants to build an empire. It is All about the money. Been the same way since the beginning of time. Hollywood Movies are probably the less efficient business in the world. But it blends in perfectly with the craziness of California.

How do you know he doesn't have a second dude pointing that thing right at someone's head and out of frame LoL. But yeah the Zoom is a good choice.
-
I am not talking on a Movie Screen. Yeah I doubt these would be too much difference between 1080p or 2K on a huge movie screen. Hell I haven't been to a movie theater only once in the last 30 years. I have PTSD from the service. I get panic attacks hearing very loud noises. I am talking a computer monitor or a TV.

I really think they are going to have to come up with a bigger body going forward for both the the A7 series, and the A6500 series. Going 10bit is not going to make it in those small of bodies. Not counting they are just too small to hold with bigger lens fat or long or both fat and long! The new EOS-R, Z7, Z6 bodies look to be a better solution.

It will be that much. You are seer. The PK4, X-T3 will kill it off and the price will drop just like the Z-E1 has. Now on the PK4 once you use the Studio Dongle, SD card actually now, you can't re sell it, it is registered in your name. So that makes the PK4 999 bucks. Now if it is used you think I am going to pay you full price. Nope, I will give you 800 bucks IF you are lucky. A lot of people that buy it will sell them just like people did with the original BMPCC. You will be lucky to get 750 bucks for one 2 years from now. Might be cheap enough I might actually buy one! -

And I said above I like the look of it. But that is not what comes right out of the camera. It is a grade, and I would suspect a grade this guy could get from a lot of cameras. He has talent. That is the secret sauce, not the camera. He could make a iPhone look good. Sure it takes a camera with a decent amount of DR. How much is in that shot, hell I don't know. It is shot in 4K. Can the new Osmo Pocket look that good in his hands. I bet it could, or be so close we aren't going to be able to tell. We are Way past what a camera is now, it is the operators skill. Are certain cameras easier to get a good look, sure, but most are more than capable in the right hands. We are at a point where we suck a hell of a lot more than the cameras. We are the ones that need to get better, not the cameras. Buying a new one is hardly the answer. We can afford to buy old Cine cameras that people made stuff that knocked your socks off 5, 6 years ago or more. A person surely ought to be able to still do it if you have talent with one. But sure for the money the Z-Cam E2 looks like a hell of a good camera. So does the PK4, so does the X-T3, etc. etc. No excuses cameras out now. Time we bone up and get better at using them. That is the answer. -
That is really, really good. Well done.
