Yeah no doubt the Osmo is way better for movement and it looks like it is better for low light. I would surely like to have one. But this thing in the long run is not going to be cheap with all the goodies you sort of would like to have for it. But I agree with others. You are not going to leave your phone at home, and if you are in bad weather, or at a place that it could get splashed a GoPro, even your phone is probably better and more durable. It ends up being another tool in your bag, but damn how many tools can we afford LoL. They have too many toys out is the problem. Oh then you need a Drone, Sigh. ?

New accessories video. I can see this thing getting WAY to expensive by the time you buy all the Extra things you sort of need for it. Shame it looks pretty nice, but too expensive. I mean you sort of Need the base and that wheel thingy, and then who knows. And there will be extra stuff 3rd party people come up with. It will never end on it. Well I found a price list for the accessories. 150 bucks more for the wheel thingy, Bluetooth base, and bracket. So 500 bucks pretty much and that is not talking the microphone attachment, probably not much money, and a half decent external mike. So like 600 bucks in reality rigged with all you sort of need. Your butt will probably fall off from sitting before we know that answer LoL. If and when that happens there will be m4/3 cameras that make the GH5 look bad. If you want a GH5 buy one. It won't just stop working like they say the day If they stop m4/3 camera production. It will take a Long time if and when it ever happens. And for Video I am not too fond of really good lenses to be honest. I guess it depends on what you like to shoot. Newer lenses to me are too good. Most of them benefit Photography more than Video. But if you want Razor sharp 4K newer is the way to go. A lot of younger people like that look. The only thing they have known to be honest. If you want newer I would lean toward the Olympus ones with the Manual Clutch in them. Nice to have for Video. But they don't play as nice for the 5 Axis Panny IBIS on the GH5.

You will need a K (PK) adapter for the Pentax lens. But some Pentax lenses are M42 Screw Mount also. Wow I see they already have dumb adapters for the Z bodies. That didn't take long.

Yeah just having to re balance your camera, phone every damn time you use it is a total pain in the ass. Having to have a bag of add on's suck also. This is a damn good solution. I just use my Apple Watch to talk, answer calls, check messages, etc., and ask Siri stuff. Piss on even having a phone anymore. Now if you gab on one for hours, yeah the battery life on the Watch isn't going to cut it for that.

Good points. But I would imagine for the target audience DJI is going for they probably have it set correctly. I would rather be able to turn it down than try to make it up if it wasn't there to start with. I have heard about Cinelike maybe being there already in the Pro version if you use your Smartphone? I know I read about it definitely going to have it at least. I agree with @DBounce This thing is definitely better than any phone I have owned. I just spent a lot of money on gizmo's for my iPhone X. I wish I hadn't right now.

Yeah they have had a whole new way of testing DR over there. They spent a ton of money for this new gizmo they use. So they have been testing new stuff, and retesting some of the older stuff to get fair results. All of the results seem to be lower, but truth be known they probably are more accurate. They have had this new machine about a year or more. It is sort of like DXO DR test. Yeah people bitch about it, but low or high they do do the same exact test on every camera, so it is consistent like it or not, probably just like the outcomes on Cinema5D. You are Never going to make everyone happy. Trouble is there is 50 ways to state DR results and 50 different tests. Tom Antos did a test years ago and I like the cheap way he did it. Makes more sense to me than all this fancy crap. Hell it is just a damn chart you look art LoL. I will try to find the video. Found it. He pretty much uses a Waveform monitor and counts the stops you can see. There is another way he di9d it also, maybe in this video of shooting every stop or something. Yeah those are nice but it is big. And it stands out in a crowd. I was looking at getting one of them. I have the Moment Anamorphic lens on order. So yeah would be nice. But damn this new DJI thing sort of is a game changer for ease of use, stealth, weight and size. I mean we are not going to take a great award wining movie with a Phone or a Osmo Pocket, at least not yet. But heck for damn near all the rest most of us shoot it will get the job done. You know it will get better with firmware and 3rd party stuff for it. For me this is hard to turn down. I don't even carry my iPhone much anymore since I have my Apple Watch series 3 and series 4 with the Cellular in it. These new Apple watches could save your life by not having to reach in your pocket or purse to get a phone out, especially driving a car, not counting other benefits. People have no clue I am talking to them on a watch, they are that good now, especially the series 4. So I could just throw the Osmo in my pocket and be set.

I just bought the Stedicam Volt for my iPhone X. It is pretty good for the money. 79 bucks. But it is no way as convenient as this DJI thing. And the Volt has a hell of a learning curve. The Osmo Pocket looks easy as heck to use, small and as good of a output. You can just give this to your kid and it works. That is pretty cool when you think about it.

Nah, Smartphone imagine stabilization is never going to look as good as a Gimbal can. Yeah it is limited, but when it can be used it is better than a Phone I think.

I read somewhere, or heard it on a video that there is some way to hook up an external microphone. Maybe Bluetooth? I don't see any specific hardware thing other than the Bluetooth.
