Yeah but doesn't every electronic lens generate Metadata? If so why would the body not be able to interrupt it correctly? Surely every say Canon lens has the very same protocol?

Speaking of Canon, more info on the 8K camera. Interesting uses for 8K besides Video. You will have to use Close Captions. Nice to see it in a smaller Cine body.

What is crazy we are not too far away form that probably happening. Maybe this is it. We will know soon enough. Drones and Smartphones are advancing at a incredible rate compared to normal Video Cameras.

I think you can just go out and buy some of the cheaper Pentax, Minolta, Canon FD manual focus lenses and be done with it. The difference between a Pentax SMC lens and a Contax Zeiss for video is a pretty small gain. In a sense the Zeiss are too good to be honest. Hardly Filmic being sharp. But they do have a special look. And personally I don't think shooting in 4K is ever going to look Cinematic. It is just too sharp especially on a GH5. They aren't known for being very Filmic to start with. The PK4, yeah that can have that look in spades. The Tiffen Pro Mist filters can take the edge off of too sharp of lenses. Cheaper way to go, at least to start with. And maybe using Sage's LuTs he has. He has done a good job with them.

IOS Mac only, so that is a bummer.

If people wanted to rent them they would have them. Hard hard is that to envision. They are in the rental business. If they flew off the selves they would have 100's of them in stock. Times have changed. Better, probably mostly cheaper stuff, that is almost as good comes along to rent, and bam you can't give a certain camera away.

You also have to consider that Studios, Effects Companys that do intense VFX, delivering in 4K, even 2K would love the extra real estate 8K offers. And you can bet there will be a ton of special effects during the 2020 Olympics footage wise. Hey I didn't spell it Olympus for once. ?

There is no real true info on the cameras. I don't really see why this thread exists at all to be honest. What do people expect it to be, a total guessing game. What is the prize for winning LoL..

Yeah without the LCD, and no DPAF. So yeah I can see why people still rent them. I am looking for one myself for that kind of money. I kind of like the LCD setup better than the C100 mk I has.
