Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

They can't be any bigger than dedicated PL CIne lenses are. But yeah I agree not many people in the long run will buy these new, crazy fast lenses. -
Yeah but it is pretty amazing how far an iPhone has come. And now with the new iPhone XS with the extended DR mode, it would be even closer in good light. Now the new ones even have the new DoF thingy you can change in post.

Well this is pretty damn interesting.

Would be hard to tell the two cameras apart if they were not side by side. I sort of like the SSD solution of the BMCC over the new PK4. But you can buy the PK4 used for probably the same price. I would take the PK4.

Speaking of downscaling. Interesting way to figure out if it is downscaling if you can find the true specs. "Figuring out what kind of monitor you’ve got requires a trip to your monitor’s spec sheet. Proper QHD monitors have a larger pixel pitch or pixel width (the distance between the center of two sequential pixels) compared to 4K UHD monitors. If your QHD monitor has a pixel pitch of .233mm or so, then you’re working with the real deal. If it’s got a 0.16mm pixel pitch, the same as a UHD monitor, you’re probably working with a downscaled display. Eagle-eyed owners can likely confirm their suspicions by looking at text or small icons, but you should probably contact your manufacturer to get some clarification".

Nice write up. Have you used other Canon cameras with your C100? Like a 80D, older Rebel. Trying to figure out what would be the cheapest, sharpest to match a C100. I know that is going to be hard to do.

For Pro work I am not too sure I would go with a cable that is that thin. Just think how thin the wires in it have to be. There is 19, yeah 19 wires in a HDMI cable. If they didn't have to bend it much sure. But if you break down, set up a rig often not too sure about that.

Wow that Face Tracking was damn impressive. And a nice Body design. Looks like a winner for the money so far. -
The older A7xx's have a hack that gets rid of the 30 minute thing. It will go as long as you have card space or battery.

Wow well done, music and all. That beach footage is really top notch looking stuff.. Those synthesizers bring back some good old memories. I Need to win the Lotto! ???

I think we are reading too much into it. As big as DPR is they have to cover their ass every which way from hell. And I doubt they have total free rein form Amazon to do what they like. They have as of late been a bit more bold on sort of knocking Canon being behind, holding back. As much as they test you are never going to please everyone. I doubt they are just kissing Canon's ass. But are not going to go out of their way to piss Canon off. And that link to here about ML and the EOS-R shows they are not sticking pins in a Voodoo Doll that has a heck of a resemblance to Andrew. ?

Yeah there is a no good answer unless you have lots of money to have the low and high end of the same brand. I think like @mercer wants to do , have a bigger camera for dedicated shots, and a small one you can keep in the glove compartment is the way to go, not counting your Smartphone.

Somebody, I don't know who, is going to come out with a PK4 type camera in a FS5, C100 body for 3500 bucks and it is going to be game on for a lot of people. You know it will happen. I mean a real camera, ready to shoot, not one that you have to buy a bunch of stuff for it. Sure it won't have IBIS maybe but.. No reason for these too small mirrorless bodies for a somewhat dedicated video camera like the GH5, GH5s, PK4 is. Heck they could cost only 2500 bucks, why not.

I always have 2 AD blockers going all the time. I never realized DPR Even has ads on it. ?

How are you suppose to use the rear touch screen using the older style Gimbals with the motor in the way? To me it them pretty outdated in this day and age. I know there is the lawsuit thing but they are not going to win that. Seems to me the PK4 depends on screen input more than most other cameras do. Not that that is a bad thing.

There is a TON of old FF MF Minolta, Pentax, FD etc. lenses that are small as heck. And now there is a lot of Chinese cheap, small lenses out for the a7 bodies covering FF. So those are a way to go and stay small and light. And Sony has a few cheaper primes that are really small for FF. I have owned a Lot of 4/3, m4/3 camera bodies of all sorts, and only the newest Olympus bodies with their excellent IBIS interests me at all. But they are not so hot for video.

Yeah we have governments, who in reality are way too bloated to react to Anything tech related quickly, is Always behind on the Oh my God they are spying on us thing. Yeah Facebook, Amazon, Apple, on and on know more shit about me than I know about me LoL. Scary Crap. And like you say, it isn't going to stop tomorrow. Our Goose is cooked now, let alone down the road when AI is Really Good!

I can't speak for other brands FF wise, but the ability on the Sony a7xx series cameras to have a s35 crop mode, and to have the Clear Zoom thingy with hardly any loss in quality, not counting better low light, DoF out of the box is pretty hard to beat once you have one. And the bodies are really as small as most m4/3 bodies. Particularly the older ones. I would go back for BiF, Sports stuff for the small long lenses, but that is pretty much the Only reason I would. I must admit I am spoiled by the Sony bodies and the FF look. Even the color science has gotten damn good on the newer ones. Not counting used they are cheap as heck.

Yeah you can just about guarantee that Canon will never let you do the new BMD BRaw thing in any of their cameras. Especially the Canon C200. That would admit their Raw sort of sucks storage space wise, which it does. But that was par for the course for Raw before this new BM Codec..

That is a funny line. ?
-
That has a very good SSD solution cable and all. That whole system, hands down, looks to be the best thought out.

Sounds like they have a case of "dumbshititis".

Yeah I have used ENG cameras with Dual Batteries stacked back to back on them. Man like 22, 23 pound cameras that way. That got old pretty quick LoL. But they were easy to steady back then with all the weight. No IBIS, OIS them days. Surprisingly you didn't need it.
