  1. There is a e-ND PL mount one for Red cameras. https://***URL not allowed***/tiltamax-te-nd-electronic-vari-nd-filter-pl-mount-adapter-for-red/
  2. Yeah but this is not the only camera that has Dual ISO. The GH5s, the Varicam, EVA1 to name a few. Surely someone on here has experience using them to hint at what to expect on the "in between" ISO's?
  3. Here you go. A guy shooting Anamorphic on a Sony A7s. https://medium.com/storm-shelter/cooke-anamorphic-primes-on-a-sony-a7s-a-world-first-maybe-5714d7ace471
  4. Well about the Only cheaper thing other than the ML stuff, PK4 is the Sony FS5 or an Older BMCC or the like. Does the Ursa Mini do Anamorphic?? I have seen them for 2000 bucks at times. I don't think the the PK4 can get water or sand down in the sensor from the Fan vent areas. I think there is like a plastic shield around it. The fan moves the air over like a bubble thing. I think that is what Grant said in one of his early presentations. Now I am not saying you can our water down it! Almost every Cine camera has fan vent holes in them. I doubt many go belly up. And they use them in all kinds of conditions. And you can use a cell phone probably for a portable monitor, or a mini iPad.
  5. This is not a bad deal used. Libec makes good stuff for the money. 800 dollars new. https://www.adorama.com/us 1014957.html
  6. I doubt that design style would be as stable compared to the normal ENG type. You are totally dependent on the locking mechanism at the base of the cradle for stability.. But Came-TV makes good stuff. The things I have bought from them have been top notch. The price is not bad either for new for that much weight capacity. But there is not much worse than a shitty tripod for video. But if they have a hook you can hang a weight off the bottom of the cradle and help a piss poor one a reasonable amount. I use a gallon jug of water at times. When you are finished you can just pour out the water or throw the whole thing away. And you have water to wash the feet off or even drink LoL.
  7. That top one from Vinten is a 1000 dollar tripod new if it is the one I think it is. Great buy for that one. The second Vinten is not as good of one as the top one.. Although I don't like the ones with the spreader on the ground as well as the ones mid way up. The bottom ones are stronger, nearly all ENG cameras use them. But they are harder to move quickly. You have to bend over to pull up the spreader, and in the dirt, sand they get damn dirty easy.
  8. What size bowl do you use. 75mm or 100mm? Or maybe you don't use one at all. 75mm is what i have. 2 of them. Both Manfrotto's. I don't really recommend them LoL. Too fragile in the long run. My Carbon Fiber one is crazy heavy, and a pain in the ass to set up. But once it is set up I think I could sit on the damn thing LoL. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vinten-Pozi-Loc-Tripod-Legs-75-mm-Bowl-Black-Tripod-Spreader/152378616307?hash=item237a7929f3:g:AC4AAOSw~XpZVlJ~:rk:46:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/EU-SELLER-Broadcast-Vinten-Vision-Tripod-Legs-Only-used/322924338791?hash=item4b2fca5e67:g:lC0AAOSw9gRaJwMP This Miller is a damn nice one. But I do like Vinten equipment for the money. Sachtler is the best, but way out of our price range for anything worth having from them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Miller-DS-Aluminum-2-Stage-Tripod-Legs-75mm-w-Spreaders/192341404960?hash=item2cc870ed20:g:DvIAAOSwKUxZlsqy:rk:42:pf:0
  9. I would buy used ones if you can. Legs don't seem to bring much money used compared to Fluid Heads.
  10. I have to admit very little footage I have seen from the Nikon Z7 looks very good to me. Sure doesn't have the old D750 look to it it that is for sure. Now I have to admit is is not that green looking. Hmm. But I think they did a great job with the body on it.
  11. Yeah I was sort of thinking that also. I guess time will tell.
  12. Pretty big difference between them. FS7 mk II is a bigger camera, but it is more of a serious Cine camera for actually not a lot more money. A used FS7 mk I is a heck of a good buy these days. They are nearly giving away FS5's also now for what they can do.. \http://blog.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/2018/05/sony-fs7-mark-ii-vs-fs5-mark-ii-clash.html
  13. It doesn't work that way. I will try to say it in my own words. If you are standing next to me with your A7s with say a 50mm lens and I am next to you with say a G85. And you are focused on a tree say 50 feet ahead of us. If you hand me the 50mm off your A7s to put on my G85 it becomes a 100mm on the m4/3 camera. So to get the same FOV I have to walk backwards hell say 50 feet to get the same 50mm FOV you have on the A7s. And at the same f stop at that distance from you both cameras then will have the exact same DoF. Or we could both stand side by side and I would be using Your 50mm lens on my G85, but you would have to have a 100mm lens now on your A7s to still have the same FOV. And standing side by side that way at the same f stop we would have the same DoF. Like they say... It's complicated lol. So the FF camera really has no better DoF than the m4/3 camera. From Great Bustard on DPR.. "For the same perspective (subject-camera distance), AOV (angle-of-view), and aperture diameter (quotient of focal length and f-ratio), the DOF will be the same for all systems. For example, 50mm on 4/3 has the same AOV as 100mm on FF. The aperture diameter at 50mm f/2 is 50mm / 2 = 25mm, and the aperture diameter at 100mm f/4 = 100mm / 4 = 25mm. So if a photo is taken of the same scene from the same position, the DOF will be the same (assuming the photos are displayed at the same size and viewed from the same distance with the same visual acuity)".
  14. I can't find the article that really proves it. I am not home at my computer. I am not arguing about your thought about the three things that make up DoF. I am arguing that when it comes to DoF FF versus m4/3 as an example it is pretty much bullshit. FF is Not really any better at Shallow DoF than m4/3 is.
  15. It has some kind of Mechanical Follow focus also. So it Should work with the PK4? It looks like a really interesting Gimbal.
  16. Equivalence is NOT real. https://***URL removed***/forums/post/57745283
  17. 600 bucks. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1430269-REG/zhiyun_tech_weebill_lab_handheld_stabilizer.html
  18. I think it is pretty much the IPS, Plasma panels that get hot as heck. LCD and OLED hardly use Any power, that is why your Smartphones last for days now.
  19. But then there is the equivalence thingy, but that gets sort of crazy. Some truth to it and not. From this EOSHD link down the page.
  20. Yeah but if you put on a Speed Booster XL you are nearly FF like Andrew says. 1.2 crop. A 24mm ends up being a 28.8. A 16mm a 19.2. Not that big of deal. And if you use one of those wireless control things that are cheap now for focus and one also for aperture you have a near FF Raw beast for less than 2000 bucks. A poor man's Arri LF. Sure not something you are going to hang off your neck. But take off the wireless thing's and put on a small, light prime and away you go. The PK4 is a game changer.
