Have you ever tried the EF-S 10-22mm on the C100?? I have that lens. And yeah pretty sure Jordan used a 17-55mm F2.8. I think they even said it in the video?

Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Well there has been some negative reviews from the Northrup's, and Chris and Jordan as of late on the Canon. And they all went to Hawaii. -
You forgot IBIS, sort of a biggy for video. Anamorphic for a real Cine look helps also. But yeah the Fuji is damn tempting no doubt. An amazing leap for them.

Yeah I got to admit he has gotten sort of Fruity as of late. Not nearly as big of fan as I was years ago, not that I even had any desire to meet him even then LoL. But I do admire his drive. He is a make shit happen person. And that is the only types that are going to survive, and make good money on YT down the road. The secret is out all over the world. Just think how little you would have to get to be sort of doing damn well in say the Congo in Africa for subscribers. 250k of them and you hit the jackpot. Several Patreon subs on top of that and you are Golden.

No Sorry that is Not my video, and no I don't have it, not even on order. But we know it will be good at 3200, as that is the other dual ISO setting. So I would guess 6400 tops. But you have to realize that is a HUGE improvement for a BMD camera.

Oh they Have to be concerned. Hell even Nikon came out with a better around product, hell 2 of them better. They had no real competition 4 years ago to amount to much. They sure as hell have it in spades today. They have shit around too long I think. This no IBIS is just inexcusable in today's market. And the crop, well what can I say.

Yeah you have to post like hell on You Tube and you Have to be good, a standout. Not many people have the time or talent to do that everyday. I think in this day and age you just have to be damn lucky to have a decent film you make become a real sensation. Man there is now competition from all over the world no matter their income bracket. Like I said if you are good you can make standout stuff with your phone. Hell nearly everyone has one of those now. I see Casey Neistat has 15 million subscribers now. 15 Million!! But how many people have his drive, passion, talent skills, get along with everyone it seems. He is a dynamo, go,go, go. And he is not alone on there. And like I have said, editing, VFX stuff is bigger standout now than just shooting the stuff. How many people are good at that. Man it would take a commitment from hell to stand out now I think. But why not, why not try.

Oh hell the C200 has a beautiful output in the Raw. @DBounce has proved that on here. But no broadcast middle codec, still a weak standard one.7500 bucks. You have to have a real Need for it, or being doing damn well money wise. Sure who wouldn't want it. But it is just not as rounded as it Could have been. Shame.

I sort of actually like the B camera Ungraded best of all. I am guessing the BMCC 2K.

This page is pretty much all the newer stuff available. But the Classic stuff is mostly for Photography, so not ideal for video. MF, click aperture, and short focus throw. And maybe even a bit Too sharp. Even the old Contax Zeiss stuff converted is a bit too sharp for my liking. But you can tame them down with filters. Hard to make crappy lenses better with filters LoL. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/photography/Ntt/zeiss+classic+lens/Ntt/0/

Oh don't get me wrong I have always been a big Canon buyer. But not in this Video age other than this C100 I am trying to get. I am not buying Anything new they got. DPAF and Magic Lantern is pretty much all that has kept them going to me on the video side on any affordable camera.

Most all their top end stuff has Bombed now and in the past. Even this new C700 is being killed by the Sony Venice camera. There is just too much competition now for Canon on Cine cameras. The C200 is about the only camera they have that is doing pretty well. And it is just a one trick pony with the Raw in it. Now with BMD B Raw that might be in trouble. I see Canon and Pentax as the weakest of All the camera manufacturers when it Really comes to trying to give the amateur, prosumer customers the best they can. And I think both company's have just trusted growth from past stuff to carry them along. I really believe they can not match Sony toe to toe no matter how hard they try. Now Fuji is biting at their ass. They have F ed around too long I think. And if they had not lucked out and invented DPAF they would be in a terrible position now. That is about all they have going for them other than a shit pot of somewhat outdated lenses on the video side. Hell for photos you can still use a 10 year old camera and get the job done. Hell a 50 year old View camera for 200 bucks is still better than almost any Digital camera. They don't have the Horsepower to make all the stuff they need to do work processing wise. That crop is there because they can't do a full sensor scan. Ain't happening. Old school tech in a faster as hell changing environment. And how the hell they going to catch up. I don't think they can afford too, let alone have the time to do it. They are sucking ass and it shows.

I agree, The big trouble is with the new Canon, Nikon, even the Fuji is you have to pretty buy into their lens line to take advantage of what they are offering. And Adopted lenses are ok, but not ideal. And especially with the new Canon, you Have to trust they will Someday come out with a body that is not gimped to hell, that doen't cost 6000 dollars. I am really beginning to believe they are not doing it just to protect the Cine line, I think they just can't come up with the processing power to make all this stuff work. I am not too sure they will Ever be able to keep up. They have not put enough money into great sensor tech production like Sony has. They have nobody buying their sensors to help fund the research like Sony has. Plus Sony Always has an edge because they know what most of the competition is coming out with because they are making their sensors for them!

This video I posted before is shot at ISO 800 and 1250. I see Very little noise in it. Granted the guy actually Knows what he is doing so that helps LoL. You are going to see a ton of total shit tests from people that have no clue how a Cine camera works. So I would take a lot of it with a grain of salt until some true legitimate tests are out. And yeah just about Every Cine camera has noise in it. You are Supposed to be skilled enough to overcome it shooting, or in post, or both. There are very few automatic anythings in a Cine camera. You have to sort of know what the hell you are doing. https://vimeo.com/292482866 I could swear that I remember from one of the early BMD video interviews that they said the areas inside where the sensor was was covered in plastic to protect it from water, dust getting into it. Now how does it protect the fan I don't know. I am sure you are not going to stand under a waterfall with it, but I doubt it will be as terrible as it seems like it might be. I am sure some crazy person on You Tube will take one in the shower to see if it goes up in smoke or not LoL.

Hint, Don't buy the PL lenses that are made for the Sony PMW F3, they are great for it, but don't work out well for other camera brands. Shame, they are reasonably cheap. But no real wide one, I think only 3 focal lengths were made for the kit. Ask @IronFilm about them, he knows the F3 as well as anyone.

I am really glad he did the test. It just proves that nearly everyone on here has a different concept of what is good color to Them, and that some of it is probably influenced on the device they are viewing it with. So no, nothing is ever going to be fair because everyone sees color output different with with their eyes, ergo color blind of sorts, or using a un calibrated monitoring device. I think he did a great job. Ir would have been nice to have included a new PK4 to see if a 1000 Dollar camera can hold up to the 7500 Dollar Canon C200. Hint, hint.
-
There are a Ton of PL lenses on ebay, and a lot of them are Carl Zeiss for not a lot of money. Pretty universal mount that works on most cameras.
-
Just a test to see if you were paying attention. Ehh, actually a mistake on my part. As you were. Actually I never realized you could embed a link and change the entire wording and it still works,. Interesting. ?

Bloody Hell.

The F3 External is the best to me. A7 mk III better internal than the F3 to me.
-
Yeah the Canon C100 proves that.
-
I thought A was the best, D second, C third B last.
-
Sounds to me you Need a Sony A7 mk III.
-
Yeah I really think a used GH5s is serious tool, with a ton of features, for a fair price for what it offers. New, they are 2000 bucks.

I think 28mm on a FF camera is a great Photo lens. But for Video on FF I think 35mm works a lot better.
