Oh boy that looks expensive! But damn tempting. ?

That Wolfcrow review he did he said some batteries he tried would not even turn the camera on! I would be leery of them, at least this early.

I am sure they are probably in Photo, Video magazines, but who buys those anymore. And if you look at them on the web you probably use an Ad Blocker like I do. Not good. And what is even more crazy is I am sure I read someplace that Panasonic doesn't even make LCD screens anymore. And at Best Buy I don't remember seeing Any Panasonic TV's. I may be wrong but..

Ahh they have their top end m4/3 stuff higher than FF. They can't really go back. Even APSC is probably a dead duck down the road. Maybe Fuji will hold out. But I can see m4/3 dropping out of sight. The Sony A7 series is just as small body wise. Sure lenses are bigger, but the average person doesn't buy 400mm f2.8 lenses for them. The kit zoom is pretty small and light. I am surprised they sell any m4/3 cameras in the USA. I Never see them in box stores, or camera stores. I don't know Anyone but me that has one. Well the guy I sold my AF100A too.

If you could only use one lens for the rest of your life what would it be?

Yeah I am still hoping to get this C100 I ordered. But I am still holding onto my A7s and all the lenses I have for it. It is just so damn convenient to have something that small that can do all that it does. And for what little a A7s body goes for now why bother selling it. Not counting I just paid 255 bucks to get it fixed! I just need to buy that new Atomos Ninja V and be done with it. Help the C100, and have 4k on the A7s. Problems solved. -

I stated in the beginning of this thread, "I would have a 28mm f1.8 if it was the down to one prime. Sure a 24-70mm f2.8 would work as the only zoom. Any faster and they would be huge. " And I will still stick to the 28mm. And the zoom is a one size do all thing, that I would guess would work for the vast majority of people on here except BiF people. And I would imagine 50mm would be a very little used focal length on that zoom for most. It would be wider not longer on average unless you are into sports, or birding. I doubt many on here are.. The problem is we have a heck of a lot wider field of view with our eyes than a 50mm can shoot. So yeah the length looks familiar, but not the view. So we tend to shoot wider to sort of bridge the gap as they say. And I don't think the camera has much to do with video. I am afraid a lot of us, me included, use that as a crutch. It is the editing, coloring and sure the somewhat the Codec, but with skill in shooting, lighting that can be overcome. I am sure a Wiz in Resolve can take a Canon T2i with the kit lens and knock your socks off with it. We are Long past what is needed camera wise. -

There is nothing wrong with shooting with one lens. Heck if someone gave me a 50mm Cooke Anamorphic lens I would shoot that sucker for the rest of my life! But a heck of a lot of what i would shoot would look the same. That is the problem. When you walk back the field of view looks wrong, too narrow. When you walk in it looks to wide of a field of view. Un natural, and the point of focus is lost. It is limiting as hell. -

Super wide angle lenses are the Thing, and have been for a few years. And a 50mm is what we see I said that. And guess what it is boring as shit to see in a movie. It is the, been there done that thing. You act like a 90 year old man. Get with it. Yeah I fight because there is some silly ass statements on here that are just not true. Basic stuff that most people Ought to know 2 years into photography. Yeah and I am a asshole because I tell it like it is. Some people on here act like all this shit was just invented 4 years ago. You want to be great at your craft, or just jump from system to system hoping for a miracle. The miracle is somewhere between your ears, learn to use it instead of the latest toy. Go back to basics, learn lenses, not just a 50mm. That has been done already. Be different, that is what stands out, different. I am not grumpy, I am trying to let you know it is a brave new world out there now. 50mm Is old hat. Everybody does that. You want to be like Everybody., That is pretty boring. I hardly ever used a 50mm equivalent on weddings I took, or even all the ENG work I did. It looks flat, no depth to it. And no don't give me that oh I have a f1.2 50mm stuff. For weddings, ENG you Never want to be out OOF, never. So it is useless as tits on a boar hog in that circumstance.. Sure for static stuff on a tripod, yeah that works. But that is not what is in this month, this year. Run n Gun is the thing, and a 0.95 lens is pretty silly in that circumstance. stupid cunt, that is pretty funny coming from a Prick. But I do like your footage on Vimeo. So there. ? -
Sure you care. You pigeon holed me a a right wing nut case, Guilty without a trial. Forcing me to defend what You think of me, not what the facts are. Just like the senate thing. You don't know me from anyone, and I sure as hell can guess what you are. We might be the same in the voting booth. You have no clue, so you can't draw a real conclusion of what I am or have been on a political viewpoint. I think you are jealous of people that Are in the top 1%, and those that strive to get there, liberal or conservative. It's easy to knock someone that has tried hard. Just going along with the flow has few risks. Just show up, do your thing, go home. Easy Peezy.

How the hell do you know how I vote! See your doing the same shit your are complaining about. Making someone guilty with out proof. You are the F ing Idiot.
-
As old as you are that is probably the best you can see LoL. I am surprised it even had 1080p in it that long ago. I think most Olympus stuff back then was still 720p..

Actually the output is dam nice. You did a great job on it @kye.

Well I can tell you huge weight works as witnessed in the usage of the large ENG cameras. When it the last time you saw shaky footage form one of them, even walking backwards? But that is never going to happen using a Mirrorless camera no matter if you hang a ENG lens of of it. So Yeah, OIS is the way to go. On a small camera body the long lens acts like a lever and multiplies that movement. There is a reason most cine cameras are long and narrow. Also so it fits on your shoulder. The Sony PMW F3 was more of a box than most, and it sucked at shoulder stuff. Sony FS 100, 700 was no better with the LCD right in the middle on the top. At least they got the LCD right on the F3. The Sony EX3 was a Huge improvement for shoulder work. How the hell was you suppose to see the screen on a tripod?? Stand on a stepladder I guess.

He said she said. Kind of reminds me what is going on with this US Senate thing. I bet everyone on here could go back to a girlfriend, a boyfriend in the past, and if they dated a reasonable amount, their X, would all have some person say he, she was a horse's ass. I have no clue if it happened or not. He does not come across as the most laid back person I have ever seen, he is a go getter, a make shit happen guy, and they are not the type to be huggy, kissy, yes dear types. So I am sure sparks flew as they say. Who knows, but to just throw him under the bus with no proof, well pretty week minded if you ask me. Strange ass world we live in now. You people accusing him don't know him from dog shit. The old "He who is without sin" thingy.

I really don't think you are going to be able to match Canon to Panasonic footage very well. Two different animals. They to me have No resemblance to each other OOC. Even the lens science color wise is different on them.

I have watched him a few times. Yeah he is different, but usually right. Canon has bought Nothing new to the game on this camera. It is the same old 6D type bullshit. Soft 1080p, cropped as hell 4K, overpriced, no IBIS crap from the past. It had nothing new other than that stupid swipe thing in the way of where there should have been focus lock buttons, etc..A Total wasted space of a on off switch to boot. It is a joke plain and simple. The Fuji XT3 kills it for 800 dollars less. Typical Canon horseshit. And Caleb acts like it is the second coming of Christ. It even isn't a polished turd, it is just an overpriced plain wrapped turd with overpriced lenses from hell on top of it that 12 people will buy. And Like I said before and a ND adapter that is Totally useless if you buy into the R lenses. Crazy shit. I have a Throttle ND that does that for a LOT less money. They need to go out of business. Of All the new cameras that have came out it is the Last one in hell I would buy. It's an overpriced Canon T2i with half assed 4K thrown in.. Pentax and Canon ought to merge. The old school club. The old "we have been selling this shit for years" Thingy. They had the chance to kick Everyone's Ass, no they can't do that, hell no.

I agree with your last statement. Newer lenses from the Big Three has no soul. They are All clinical as hell with all the corrections they have built into the software. You can't tell them apart other than a small different in the total color output, and that is easily replicated in post. Old lenses do add character, good and bad. I would suggest more to the good side. But it is nice to have a choice to be sharp as hell and not. So I would rather have a camera I can tone down than have to try to tone up sharpness wise. And yes it can be done with lenses and filters more easily than in post. But it will be baked in, so you have to watch yourself by not going too far off the deep edge LoL. ? -

What the hell does that have to do with focal length?? Any lens, regardless of length can have all of those attributes. -
That guy is awesome. Tells it like it is. Breath of fresh air.

That has more to do with F stop than focal length. That lens ends up being a 50mm on a m4/3. So the magic is the f stop.
