Yikes, if true the Sony A7s has some competition!
-
Yeah I have always been a ass to people that are sort of clueless. I actually even enjoy it. Rich people are kind of like that. Pit Bulls.

A reminder of how easy we've got things these days...

I can tell you from experience that that old tape type cameras, and editing equipment to make it happen in the end were just horrendous cost wise, even used. And Insane when new. Not counting all of it weighed a ton to boot. Man the money I spent then was just crazy. -
Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

Yeah Nikon sure does know how to build a really good body that is for sure. Even back in my film days they just stood out from the rest of the pack on ergonomics body wise. And their lenses were top notch. Great company. -
LoL, that could apply to a whole hell of a lot of cameras that are out now, and have been out for 5 years or more. Camera operator skill.?
-
I agree. The vast majority of people on here would be better off with a Canon C100 mk II, including me. And my son just traded his 5D mk III for a 80D and a lens, and some more stuff. And I think it is definitely a Way better film making tool with the DPAF, touchscreen and other benefits. I think it would compliment a C100 very well as a B Cam and for Run n Gun. We can all wait for the perfect camera to come along. But WE are the ones that need to get more perfect at shooting, editing, not the Camera getting more perfect.

Where the hell did I say Anything about a price? It is about the size! Price is irreverent. If I was rich, I kind of used to be, even a Arri Alexa LF wouldn't cost me shit for money compared to what I make. You act like everyone is poor as hell.
-
I never said it wold cost more, it will be damn near as big. This is suppose to be a POCKET camera, not a Cinema Scope camera. And for 4 grand you can buy a real Cine camera used.

Enough drama, lets play the camera and lens game again!

That to me is a loaded question of how deep is your pockets on what lenses you can afford. A m4/3 camera can look FF if it has a Speedbooster and a 0.95 lenses hanging off of it compared to a FF camera with a f 4.0 lens on it. ? -
Hell by the time you put a battery grip, a SSD, a mike, a cage, ND filters, oh and you Need a Gimbal because it has no IBIS, a wireless focus controller because it has no continuous AF, you might as well carry around a Arri Alexa!
-
Then why would a company that prides itself on the video side utilize a focusing system that sucks in video then? It is pretty obvious that Panasonic is pretty terrible at making a camera that can AF worth a crap in video mode. Their stuff is becoming too expensive for the average person to buy, and that is a total change from what they used to be. I think it is going to end up badly for them down the road.

"Integrating a click-less aperture ring that provides seamless aperture control" seems pretty interesting. -
Another review with a lot of different footage. Looks like it is a Battery Hog though. https://www.provideocoalition.com/gopro-hero7-black-hands-on-review/

Ehh, this video may save you some grief if you do binding often.

I did see he has a Sony HXR-NX80 camcorder as being used in his piece. Cameras he used are in this article. But I don't think I have seen much better footage from anything that is just pick up and go than the Panasonic DVX200 does. Might be Only 8bit, but it is some damn good 8 bit. But about the cheapest I have seen one is around 2700 bucks used. http://philipbloom.net/blog/skiathos/

Well the 2.7K has been the sweet spot on GoPros for the last few models. I think 4K is a bridge too far for anything really serious. Although the new 7 looks a Lot better side by side to the model 6. A lot less artifacts. Even looks to be a different, improved color science also. Hey it is not a Arri Alexa, but for 400 bucks I don't see anything that can top it for all it can do overall. I mean these things are aimed at a hobbyist, vacation stuff, not for Star Wars 10. I think from what I have seen so far it may even top smartphone footage, especially for stabilization.

No they were Olympus looking colors to be hones. Much too hot for my liking. -
Plus you can make it a 21mm with this add on. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1126141-REG/sony_sel075uwc_21mm_ultra_wide_converter_for.html?ap=y&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrZLdBRCmARIsAFBZllH-8xDy538xhutJEZPco8uSjlwYLlHYDgpecLJNPFRSeMJCAtT_y2kaAsZQEALw_wcB&smp=y

Well the Sony 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS is not 100 bucks, 399 bucks, but I don't think that is too bad for a zoom. And the one I have is pretty damn good sharpness wise.
-
Well there is ONE video on Vimeo for the Hero 7. So the quality on there surely is better than YT. looks pretty decent.
-
Good thing it is not using P2 media. The damn cards are Still serious money, even used. Every once in awhile I get a hair up my ass and say, hell I Ought to buy a old Panasonic AG-HVX200 again, then I look at the media costs LoL.
-
Yeah I have a GoPro HERO5 Session, and it is amazing for how small it is, and what it can do, especially in the 2.7K mode in ProTune. I can see buying the new one. I F ing Hate Gimbals! They are expensive, you look like a idiot walking with one, the batteries are Always dead, they are fragile as hell, on, and on, and on.

Yeah that thing looks to be a pretty damn serious camera.
