Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yeah but man the internet, YouTube, has power out the ass now. You can bet your butt if Casey Neistat starts using the Canon EOS R, and I bet he will, he alone will cause thousands and thousands of people to run out and buy one good or bad. And I think it is on paper pretty good for VLogging. So yeah it is a whole new world as they say out there. Yes you are right. But with Canon having a Ad out now in every venue there is, and in the weeks to come, there will be plenty of people that will own a FF camera for the first time good or bad LoL. Hey it's a Canon, it Has to be good thingy. -

Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls

This is an entry level one. No big time pro is going to buy this thing and shoot Weddings with it. They will get one sure just to get into the system, but it is gimped to hell every way you look at it video and stills, They will wait for the 5D mk IV body or the 1Dx mk II body. This is a camera you throw in the Minivan and go to the park. This is not a camera you are going to make a living with. The vast majority of people that buy this camera are clueless about most of the specs. They will buy it because it is a Canon with DPAF. This thing doesn't even have continuous shooting in silent shutter. This thing will not be worth a shit at weddings like I said or anything like plays etc.. It is a beginners camera. If you give a crap about stills and video you are Not going to buy this particular model. It is their first effort, and it sure as hell looks it. -

Well this verse probably had an influence on them not coming there! "From Hell, Hull and Halifax, good Lord deliver us" -

Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls

I am not cutting them any slack, but they are giving their opinion to Anyone, Everyone that could potentially buy this camera. And I doubt a Soccer Mom is going to give much of a crap about a 4K crop, and no 10 bit in camera. But no IBIS, I would think they might about that. So sure to us it sort of sucks, but to the average person, well Hot Damn, a Mirrorless FF camera from Canon, and I can maybe even afford to buy it thingy. And they will sell the hell out of it. But yeah to me it does look like a they can do no wrong thing, because if you get on their Shit List, goodbye free trip, free food, free camera stints pretty much forever LoL. So you are right. They Have to be influenced to some degree to not tell it like it is. -

Hell if a review sells 2 new cameras it is a Win Win for Canon, Nikon. Those 2 cameras probably pay for the one they get for free, and the trip and food. -
I found this comparison video. I think the PK4 looks better. But no doubt like he says it is professionally graded. This camera is really pretty unbelievable for the money. But I think it is really a mini mini more than a pocket replacement that just happens to do 4K. In the long run that is probably a good thing to be honest. And yeah, it does sort of look like a poor mans C200 output wide. Actually I think it is better. This camera is looking like it is going to be really hard Not to purchase.

New hands on video.

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
webrunner5 replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
I sort of equate the Film look as looking like it was shot on well...Film! It could be 8mm Film, it still has a look of Film. But yes you are right they pretty much just cut 35mm Camera Film stock in half, added an audio track, and well called it... Movie Film! -

You know this is not going to be a full senor readout by any stretch of the imagination. Canon would have to leap ahead light years to have that much processing power, let alone sensor tech. It isn't looking too promising. Andrew said this in the EOS R thread. "Full sensor in 16:9 is 6720 x 3776 Crop 3840 x 2160 from that and you have almost 1.9x crop". -
Yeah but it will be a Portrait Lens if the crop is as bad at the 5D mk IV in video. God I hope that is not true, but I bet it is or close to it crop wise. I just don't see how it can work out. Now for Photos, sure it will be a nice lens. You would have to buy the Canon 11-24mm f/4L to get a wide native lens for video, And it really won't be a native one being EF. And it is kind of slow at that, not counting it is 3000 dollars to boot. Depressing LoL.

Heh, I can only assume mine is still calibrated. I lost my Spyder in a move, so not sure what everyone else see's how mine looks either! That can be a real problem LoL.But yeah it looks like something you would do on my screen. I like it.

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
You must have Never been Abroad LoL. -
That has to do more with the Contrast. I don't really like hard contrast. I can sort of live with just Log footage to be honest. I like to grade where it is different, not reality. I have to have a different look or why bother. Sure if your like JB on a show you want to realistic. You follow your color chart to a Tee. But I don't have to do that. "I think the issue the milky blacks". Yeah looking back at it it should be a bit higher no doubt. I think it is better than some crushed blacks I see people doing a lot. You have about 5 stops of DR in Rec.709 when you do that. Hey if we all did, or liked the same thing it would be boring as heck. We could all just use the Arri LuT in Aces and away we go.
-
Well lets see your high ISO grade. I like a old school Cine look, not a Digital GH5 look. So sure not the best for 5 minutes of work, but..

My grade on it.

From what I see looking at data seems like 80% of the big time films, even a lot of indie stuff is shot on an Arri of some kind as of late. But they do make the FF one also. The Alexa LF, and then there is the Oh My God one, the Alexa 65. -

Yeah the more I read about it the more I Don't believe it will be in this new camera. It will probably be a high end camera on the side lines for pure Broadcast stuff.. Looks like they are trying to make it happen for the 2020 Olympics. Hey I Think I spelled it right this time, Yahoo! -

Dixie Dixon is a She not a he LoL. She is the blond holding the camera all the time in the video. Dixie Dixon is a Nikon Ambassador, one of 16 I believe. I think you Need Cataract Surgery Jon. ? The video looks damn good to me. Oh, and I have had mine removed. -
Yeah but unless we have a cage and zip tie the SSD to it I don't see how I could hold the drive and cable without that? I guess on paper we are going to have to have Both solutions to be honest. "It would have been just as easy to make the body a little bulkier & have a slot for an SSD" That would have been a nice idea. They had to have thought about it, but maybe too bulky?

I tend to think it might have this 8K Organic sensor in it .Co Developed by Panasonic and Fuji. Which if it it does I don't see how this thing can be cheap unless it cost 10 cents to make this sensor LoL. And TowerJazz also owns 51% of TowerJazz Panasonic Semiconductor Co. (TPSCo) ,an enterprise with Panasonic Corporation. https://***URL removed***/news/1440456457/panasonic-unveils-industry-first-8k-organic-image-sensor-with-global-shutter
