  1. Ahh hell it is only around 5000 bucks. Get your Visa card out!
  2. Yeah Bruckheimer helped develop that removable sensor. Have no clue why someone never thought about it before. It is not wireless but they are trying to do it that way down the road. That might not be too easy at 6K.. ?
  3. Wow 500 that sounds damn cheap for a FS100. on ebay here in the USA cheapest FS100 599 bucks, Cheapest Sony F3 is 875 bucks. I'll take the F3! Adorama still has that F3 for 775 bucks with the plastic missing and broken on the LCD. No big deal with the plastic from the pictures to be honest.. But isn't the free upgrade on the Slog for the F3 Only 8bit internal and 10bit external off one SDI port?? And the 4.4.4 thing is like 12 bit on both SDI ports external or 10bit also?
  4. Yeah on the Sony A7r I had with 36mp you had better use focus peaking I can tell you that. Not much room for error when it was that high MP on photos with a long lens. And for video if you are using a fast aperture lens wide open you have Got to use focus peaking. I use it all the time on my A7s. You can set the color and intensity the way you want it on them. Once you have it you wonder how you lived without it. But it is not perfect. That is why they use tape measures in the Pro stuff. And why there is a hook at the sensor plane on Cine cameras. Mostly for focus pullers. The old "stand on the mark" thingy. ? Now don't confuse Zebras with Focus Peaking. They are totally different animals. Zebras are for overexposure, Peaking is for Focus. Zebras have been around forever, Peaking is kind of new. Trouble is they can kind of look alike in a small LCD.
  5. Yeah but that is the one with the paid Slog upgrade. They all got the free firmware upgrade that 97% of the people only need to have. How many people Need uncompressed 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 1080p, through the Dual-link HD-SDI outputs, or can afford the recorder to even record it. I think the the free S-Log 4:2:2 is good enough and they are more like 1000 bucks or a bit more compared to 1700ish or a bit more for the 4.4.4 one that you Will need a recorder for. However if you don’t have the RGB option, paid one, you will not get any Look Up Tables, no EI-Slog and no 4:4:4 output, only 4:2:2. So pick your poison. Nobody is going to turn down the paid update one, but do you Really need it?
  6. Speaking of 4K. This is one funny, interesting video. It is long but worth it. About a little over a year old.
  7. Yeah and to think they were the first ones to have it in the D90. Boy did they piss away a good head start.
  8. Yeah it is really still a viable camera today for 1080p output. Beautiful to be honest. And that is about 95% of what anyone needs still, or can afford to edit computer wise, and to afford hard drives wise to store it. Try uploading 8K content to Vimeo and see what that cost a month for that privilege to use.?
  9. Oh no doubt Nikon fans are going to be happy as hell to use just about any lens you can think of. But how many Nikon fans are there left that are willing to basically start all over? Surely most people realize by now that any real gains in Video, and hell None in Photography, are going to be by leaps and bounds that you Really need with this new camera now, and down the road. It is more skill now than camera. Hell the original BMPCC is still a killer camera. I see Nikon bringing nothing new to the game. Why shell out the cash for a dead end system, at least on the video side? There is No upward mobility. Just a little dribble here, a little 2 years from now, not worth it for me.
  10. Yeah but you can't believe how small those screws are. I about had a Heart Attack changing my mount out LoL. They are some tiny ass things.
  11. Well I do hope there is more than those 4 screws in the flange for those long lenses I am sure Nikon will want to make, or adapt. That was a problem on the first Sony A7 series bodies. I changed my mount on my A7r, and when the mk II ones came out they improved the mount strength using basically the same aftermarket type..
  12. Who the hell Needs a f0.95 lens that is as big as a house, and weighs as much , and cost as much, when we have cameras that go to a Million ISO on FF! That is just plain stupid, and yeah the AF, even MF ought to work keeping people in focus at that Aperture, yeah right. Nikon is just doing the same dumb crap they have been doing. Living in the past. Lets make a big, heavy ass Mirrorless camera, with big fat, fast lenses on it. Yeah that ought to work out!
  13. Sony is ground breaking and Nikon will Have to be to stay with the Sony A9. You think those old screw lenses are going to focus at 20fps like the A9 can? With electronic shutters there is really no end to how fast they can do FPS. Sony is so damn far ahead of these guys it is not funny. Hey I am a big Nikon fan, but both Nikon, Canon have let themselves get so far behind, I have no clue what they were thinking. Sure they will be nice, but they are not going to be great! it is their first real try. And Sony will just top them at every move ,and lower the price, and lower it till the cows come home. They are not ever going to catch up. So instead of being the leader like they were at one time, they are sucking hind tit all the time. What a dumb ass position to let yourself get into. And Sony has them all by the ass on Sensors to boot. And if I wanted a body as big as the Nikon one looks like I would have stayed with a DSLR. With the bigger mount that means the lenses will be bigger, I think it is a stupid move. Mirrorless cameras were Never meant to have a 600mm lens hanging off of them. Why do you think Sony, Fuji doesn't have them. I am sure they will sell, but they have such a uphill road to go I doubt they have the capital to keep it moving ahead. Canon, Sony, Panasonic has so much more video experience to pull from, and Nikon has No upward path at all Semi Pro, or Pro gear. They have let themselves become somewhat irrelevant in the video world, and it will bit them in the ass in the short and long run. Canon and Sony will hand Nikon's ass to them even if it is a pretty good product. It is too little too late. Look at the D750 how they have shit around without updating it. Jesus.
  14. Plus Nikon has sort of painted themselves in a corner with the focus motor in body. I have no clue what they will do yet, but I would not be surprised to see this new body with No motor in it at all. I would think an adapter with a motor in it is possible, but I think moving forward they have to change their lens concept.
  15. They were not made for mirrorless cameras, and not for 4k and above. Canon has a lot of the same shit problem. This is 2018 DUDE! Every lens Sony has on the FE ones is brand new tech.. Not some Nikon F stuff back in 1972.
  16. The adapter is even weather proof. Pretty well made. I think the main body is aluminum. Couple of different ones. One is Silver, and two are Black. I had the Black one, the MMF-3. Matches the black color of 4/3 lenses also. They are pretty big lenses though compared to the m4/3 stuff. Eh not so much bigger, they are, but heaver. Built like a tank . https://www.apotelyt.com/photo-accessory/four-thirds-adapter Read the reviews. All 5 or 4 stars. Nuff said. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/842941-REG/Olympus_V3230500W000_MMF_3_Four_Thirds_Adapter.html "Ever have ti" not sure what that is??
  17. I hope there is more than just those 4 screws holding that front body flange on. That doesn't look such a good idea!
  18. Sort of worked for Sony on the original A7 series. And they had the adapter for the Alpha lenses, just like Nikon will have for their existing F mount stuff. And I doubt Nikon can stop anyone from using the physical Z mount. Now to have electronics in it well yeah they May have control over that. But I seriously doubt Nikon is going to stop all these Other lens makers from adopting a lens to a Nikon body. Most of Nikon's lenses are old and outdated now anyways. In body motors are pretty much a thing of the past. That is stupid limiting in this day and age for more than one reason in a mirrorless body. But we will find out soon enough I guess. I am not a buyer no matter what they come up with. It won't be any better video wise than what we already have from several other makers. Who the hell wants to start all over with an unknown path forward, unproven product line. It might be the next Samsung NX1, belly up..
  19. And you get a crazy good lens thrown in for free! I have owned a lot of the Foveon cameras and liked all of them, well loved most, but the SD14 I had was a dog. Hard to beat the Merrill ones really. Never had the newest SD ones.
  20. Just buy a cheap ass Sigma Quattro 2 and be done with it. It has better resolution than both the Fuji and the Hassy when you compare each on DPR's chart. 500 bucks on Amazon. https://***URL removed***/reviews/hasselblad-x1d-50c/5
  21. I have seen Sony A7r's, the original ones, for under 700 dollars. That is a buy to be honest. But with that lens no handheld stuff. The Olympus EM1, original one, is damn nice also and has good IBIS. 450 bucks for them at times. I think focus peaking is almost a must with that lens. Now years ago when they had split Fresnel focusing screens well no LoL. I'd go with the EM1. You already have the adapter. And for that kind of money they are a steal. A poor mans birding camera. Even at sports they are great. Plus there are tons of cheap m4/3 lenses out. You can even use the 4/3 lenses on the EM1. I had 3 of them and they worked great on mine.
  22. I do! Video is the future. There will be No photo cameras down the road. They will all be video cameras with a photo mode, a frame grab. It's as simple as that.
  23. Oh I don't doubt Nikon has given all the lens manufacturers the specs for the Z mount. And I am sure they will have a few Nikkors out themselves that are great. So yeah nobody will be lens less for long I am sure if you have deep enough pockets. It is just like Jon said about the endless new stuff over and over and over. If I spent as much time shooting even with a Canon T2i as I do on here, and Amazon I would be George Lucas LoL. ?
  24. Ironfilm saying they will have all these lenses out for the Z mount. Did you read the thread in the last day?? And the piece I was talking about is this rectangle on the inside edge thing at the bottom. It swivels if you touch it when the lens is zoomed in. Don't clean the rear element when it is that way. Big mistake. The thought behind my comment is Sigma or anyone else is not going to just change a flange on any old lens and make it work without some serious engineering. Now if they use their adapter well maybe. But we have no clue in hell what this Z mount will even really look like, or if they are even going to have a focus motor in the body yet, on and on. The Sony FE lenses are not a normal looking design with the rear exit that is for sure. Who is to say the Z mount won't be some odd duck thing also. And that dirt, smears is on my iPhone X camera lens. A 16 ounce T Bone steak adds to the mess trust me. Oh I cooked it to perfection tonight, the steak that is.
  25. Do you own a Sony FE mount lens?
