I had Diarrhea yesterday and it cleaned me out, too many Beers I guess. But, get that butt part, that doesn't mean I like it LoL. ?

They had to make an effort to make it look that bad! You know and I know they can look a Lot better than that. This one is pretty good. And this is not too bad for night time. Think that is bad check out the Data Usage on the Arri Panavision 65 @ Open Gate 6.5K, 5858mbs! 10 minutes on a 512gb card! http://www.arri.com/camera/alexa/tools/arri_formats_datarate_calculator/

Wow that brought back some happy memories of my Sprint, and Enduro Kart racing! Fun times. Was a lot safer than my Motorcycle racing!!

I just think a Canon C100 mk II would be my go to for Corporate, Doc work. Heck Wide DR right OOC can nearly work on them. Who wants to grade and color all day for that kind of work. Now music videos, sure I will take the BM over a Canon. It's the old, no one camera thingy.
-
To be honest I would love to see Smartphones get about twice as better as they are now and I would be in business. I am amazed what little effort is required to get decent video now out of one compared to packing all the crap you need for a decent rig. And I don't think it is that far off to be honest. Now sure you aren't going to make a feature film with one anytime soon, but for the average stuff a lot of us do, lugging around a kit from hell is a bit overboard. ? I don't think Push AF is going to be fun doing Run n Gun. But sure most music videos are shot on a Cine Camera with no AF. You can always use a wide as hell lens and set it to like f5.6 and get Everything in focus. ?
-
Yeah it is a nice, balanced setup. Compact also. That is hard to achieve to be honest on any camera.
-
Out of Likes. Yeah they were pretty terrible but man the output. Lot better than changing a film cartridge like every 2 to 3 minutes minutes in a Super 8mm film movie camera I can tell you that! ? I really don't mind changing batteries often. I never shoot for long periods, and batteries sucked even more years ago. But yeah it would be nice not to have to worry about them. But no matter how long they last somebody would piss and moan they don't last 2 days. ?
-
Yeah really serious Video shooters have got to be a really small minority of the people that buy a mirrorless camera for sure. I take the vast majority of my photos anymore on my Smartphone.
-
Yeah but DPR is Mostly Photo shooters, but sure everyone that has Canon, Nikon lenses are hoping like hell they can still use them without some Frankenstein setup to do it. And yeah they are going to Have to have IBIS in them to compete. I guess we will know soon enough.

Yeah that is pretty funny. I have known that for years. It is a E mount, same that was on the NEX-3. Nothing new to me. Sony FF lenses are called FE but it is still an E Mount flange. I am not really sure if they, Sony, really had making it work as a FF at the start. I guess they did?? It works, but it is tight no doubt. But it would not have been as small of a camera if it had a larger flange diameter. I don't see how the new Nikon's can ever be as small as a A6500 even in APSC size. No way they are going to come up with 2 different mounts. They can't be that dumb. They should have changed years ago and they would not have this problem. At least Canon bit the bullet years ago. I am still thinking Canon is going to come out with their top one with a long Snout so they can use EF lenses on it with no adapter. Why make a new mount for FF. They would have a hell of an edge even on Sony let alone Nikon for all their existing lenses. Adapters suck, they really do. They are a weak link in the chain. You leave it at home, you brought the wrong one, on and on. They rarely fit tight, none waterproof that I know of, etc. I just don't see some Canon Pro at the 2020 Olympics shitting around with adapters LoL. I guess they could Weld one on, or for that matter won't be a lot of BM PK4's there either I bet. ?

How long are your takes at each time you turn it on record? 30 seconds, less than a minute? You can't change a battery every half hour or so. You really want some big ass bulky thing on a tripod with a V Lock battery, 7" monitor, big microphone hanging off of it, and maybe a cage and on and on? sure we can do that but, we might as well buy a C100 to do that. Plus you already have all that stuff. So do I. The only thing you need is a few extra batteries and some C Fast cards, and pick they baby up and go. ? Oh now it's 800 bucks. Hmm, you are funny tonight. Oh I think even you will sell it if you actually buy one.. I think you will be disappointed as hell with it. Hell I might not like it. It is not going to be auto much of anything I bet.
-
I bet 40% of the people that buy this camera will sell the damn thing on ebay in less than 3 months. This is not going to be a walk in the park camera to use.
-
People are not going to use this camera for long shoots. This is not a Corporate, Doc camera. That is Canon C100, C300 territory. Vloggers, Weddings hell it doesn't even have AF worth shit. Yeah right. You are not going to by the damn thing anyways, why do you care?
-
Your just silly Jon. That humidity over there has gotten to you. Yeah YOU are going to pay 1300 bucks for it, and you will end up with a extra copy of Resolve you can give to the Sisters of the Poor. They will pray for you. I will Only have to pay 995 for the camera and 295 for Resolve. But hell you can afford it Jon. Tax write off. ?
-
It does not retail for 1300 Dollars. It ALSO comes with Resolve, the version I don't own. If you bought the full version then you got screwed! What do you shoot that goes for an hour straight?? Most of your stuff I see is like 5 minutes long. If I shoot for 3 minutes straight I am doing good. Did you ever own the original BMPCC? Hell it was good for about 15 to 20 minutes tops on a battery. You carried about 6 batteries in each pocket using it. This camera ought to be a dream compared to it. Heck my A7s with the battery grip is lucky to go over an hour straight.
-
You are allowed to buy extra batteries Jon. ? Who the heck shoots for more than an hour at a time with a camera like it is going to be anyways? I really doubt @FoxAdriano is going to take it on Safari to Africa! ? And I don't have the Studio version of Resolve, so it is going to cost me 995 dollars for the camera plain and simple.
-
I don't think BMD's end goal is super clean to be honest. They build Cine Cameras, and that look doesn't equate clean to me especially at the money they charge. Sure could they be better, and yeah and I do expect it to be cleaner using basically the GH5s sensor. The Kinefinity looks clean using it also. So there is some hope for you LoL. But you know it is going to have some BMPCC Mojo in it.

Some film speeds from Wiki. Man I don't remember 8mm film being so low of a ASA. Yikes! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_speed Looks like the 35 mm Film stock ranged between 50 ASA to 500 ASA for Movie film. Different ASA's for Daylight and Tungsten. https://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/Products/Production/default.htm

I think most Fab plants have been using Nikon Steppers for years. I know diddly shit about them, but apparently Optics do come into play on them, and Apertures. I am sure Nikon and Sony have had a great relationship over the years. And maybe will still be together on these new Nikon Mirrorless cameras? I am sure nobody in Japan wants to see any of the camera manufacturers go out of business. It is a Nation Pride thing as much as anything. So Sony is not going to throw Nikon under the bus and vice versa. They both need each other. https://www.nikonprecision.com/products-and-technology/mini-steppers/

Yeah that is a pretty awesome video for what little money involved. Yeah true I would not doubt the A6000 would not be too far off. And they are crazy small. But you loose all the buttons and aids that make a Cine Camera a Cine Camera. But for Run n Gun, stealth yeah hell yes the A6000 gets the job done probably. Might even be the same sensor as the Sony NEX-7 or even older or in the A6000 for all I know in the FS100?? Truth be known the VG-10, VG-20, VG-30 may have had the same FS100 sensor! But I would not recommend one at all. To much Morie', compression artifacts on and on with them. Sony and Canon both milked the hell out of the same sensors in their cameras back then. Good set of photos of the body of the FS100 on this site. https://www.engadget.com/2011/08/26/sony-nex-fs100-review/#gallery=52736&slide=585064&index=0 https://www.engadget.com/2011/08/26/sony-nex-fs100-review/#gallery=52735&slide=585045&index=0

This is a Really good page to go to to see some rigs and accessories for the FS100. This picture is about as small as you probably really want it to be. There is a ton of controls on the side of them. https://www.provideocoalition.com/third-party_accessories_for_the_fs100/

Well that tube is removable and the LCD folds down on the top. But then a lot of the controls are hidden. They are a damn good camera for the money. A great Cine Camera learning tool if for nothing else. Shame they don't have ND filters like the PMW F3. That first picture is the first version normal kit lens that came with them. like a 18-200mm I think. There was at least 3 versions of them. The last one was Black and had a zoom rocker switch in the lens. I had the first and last versions. This one I think is the first. https://www.amazon.com/Sony-SEL18200-mount-18-200mm-F3-5-6-3/dp/B0042GFYLI Last version. I had this one for my VG-30. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/913563-REG/sony_selp_18200_18_200mm_f_3_5_6_3_pz_oss.html But, I never knew this but this is a surprise to me. A Hasselblad version of one! https://www.keh.com/shop/hasselblad-18-200mm-f-3-5-6-3-e-oss-silver-e-mount-autofocus-lens-67-1.html?m=Grouped&prod_id=1188151&aid=1188151&rmatt=tsid:|cid:1410740124|agid:60981491932|tid:pla-473957324134|crid:270919503814|nw:g|rnd:10272506598975176105|dvc:c|adp:1o7&gclid=CjwKCAjwtIXbBRBhEiwAWV-5nkJ0CB_Er7RXBBPJKhvDtIIypwPeCDhk7AEet54BiGxx1skRgMkBfBoCszgQAvD_BwE

Sony PMW F3 picture in hand. They are pretty wide also. They are about the same as a Panny AF100. Both are not huge like a Arri Alexa is though.

The gun stock is on sale on closeout, Usually like 250 bucks. Their stuff is expensive as heck, but really well made. Rest of the stuff you can just buy cheap on Amazon. But you have to have the right thread pattern to screw that Gun Stock into. Might need one of the Zacuto rods to be safe. Even the hand grip you can probably use one off Amazon. Won't swivel as well but.. I have never seen anything like the Gun Stock though. So probably have to buy it and the second item I have a link to. The demo z mount thingy.. I found out the Zacuto rods are a 15mm rod with 1/2"-13 thread. So 1/2"-13 thread rods are what you need. Some of the ones from China are Metric which makes sense. I have this plate also. For the money on closeout it is a CRAZY good deal. They usually are 160 bucks. You can mount just about Anything on it. From V mount batteries, to recorders, audio mixer on and on. I just buy stuff from them when it goes on closeout. Like 25% of the original cost. Philip Bloom uses all their stuff. https://store.zacuto.com/zwiss-cage-plate/ https://store.zacuto.com/demo-gun-stock/ https://store.zacuto.com/demo-z-mount-2/ https://store.zacuto.com/wooden-handgrip/ https://store.zacuto.com/z-mount-zwivel-2/

They really are not that big to start with if you take the mike handle, side handle off and not use the Tube on the LCD with a small lens on it. I have that same Zacuto Rig as in this picture. I used it for my Sony VG-20, VG-30. The FS100 was in the same NEX class of cameras. Now the PMW F3, that is a pretty damn big camera.
