Looks to me like a lot of people living in their mom's basement trying to make a buck or two on YT. If you had a real job the only time you would have time to suck on ears is real ones at night when you go to bed LoL.
  2. I don't think you are alone with your feelings about the lens LoL. B&M reviewers of it seem to agree. 43 out of 44 give it 5 Stars! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1023336-REG/panasonic_leica_dg_nocticron_42_5mm.html/xpcur/xCHF/IWB/mx?c3api=0980%2C110370500933&gclid=CjwKCAjw9-HZBRAwEiwAGw0QcVTzAvFWNAlVqRNE7vwh8nYc6sAVUoHMLvLEzmlpWK9g2lRDeBc9XRoCKC4QAvD_BwE
  3. Red has been building cameras for going on almost 20 years now. I know, I had the original Red One on order for over a year. It is easy to look back and say, Oh they should have done that, they should have done this. The Red One was a groundbreaking camera that has bought about a lot more groundbreaking cameras that we can actually afford to buy. Your beloved Kinefinity is one of the spinoffs thanks to Red. Kinefinity has been making cameras for 5 years, 2013, and they have made great strides no doubt in that time. I am not a big fan of Any camera manufacturer anymore. My days of buying, renting, using high end stuff for a living, hobby are over. I am retired so probably this new 4K BMPCC is as high price as I can really justify to go with the money I make now. But I don't think even though it doesn't cost too much is detracting from it's ability to probably hold it's own cameras 5 times it's price. So why pay more for what I do and need. Probably true for lot more people than me. ☺️

Sort of looks like Wax on, Wax off in the Karate Kid movie! I would not have the patience for that.
  5. Well I will admit they probably are not the sharpest Anamorphic lens in the world, but then they are not $30,000.00 either. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1345518-REG/cooke_ckea_50_50mm_anamorphic_i_lens_t2_3.html?ap=y&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1NzZBRCoARIsAIaMwutPnboyNIUjIzodMiFLQFnogNc33hST5IWjlua1czni6hYXxmtfXkQaAlfaEALw_wcB&smp=y SLR Magic 50mm Anamorphic is $6,000.00. Not that I can afford that either but.. At a Daily $350.00 to rent the Cooke 50mm I think I would just buy the SLR unless you are one heck of a fast film maker! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1233201-REG/slr_magic_slr_ac50133pl_50mm_1_33x_anamorphot_cine_lens.html And, and maybe, just maybe that wanted that look. I think it fits the movie fine to be honest.

Have you changed your Meds lately LoL! I think it is kind of creepy to be honest. Sort of like Pink's Floyd song Comfortably Numb. "Your lips move but I can't here what you are saying"
  7. The Sony E mount has a depth of 18mm which is way too shallow for using on a Red camera. The sensor is nearly on the flange on Sony cameras. Look at this picture of a FS7 mk II. This the the Kinefinity mount options. Other than E mount I don't see anymore listed that Red has. Actually there is less of them. http://www.kinefinity.com/product-category/kine_acc-en/previous-accessories/mount-adapters/?lang=en
  8. Arri has a 2.8K mode in the Alexa. 2.8K 4:3 (2944x2160) and 2K Anamorphic(2048x858)
  9. Liked this one better script wise. You need to let the bad guy win once and awhile LoL. Really the A6300 didn't look too bad. https://vimeo.com/179493640
  10. Yeah they do have some really nice Slo Mo. Although the colors are tricky in them even at normal speeds. But they are a Pro piece of kit as they say. 4K one on the ebay for 1350 bucks. Not too bad. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-NEX-FS700U-Super-35-4K-Sensor-Camcorder-BODY-ONLY-4290-Hours-SKU-944762/232814511617?epid=159753749&hash=item3634d38601:g:RVoAAOSwrcdbK89d
  11. If you want good Manual Focus with a Native lens you Only have one choice. The Olympus lenses with the MF clutch. Ante up or fold as they say in Poker.
  12. Been done for several types. Fake news LoL. http://www.red.com/store/lens-mounts http://optitek.org/products/new-hasselblad-to-red-cameras-adapter-with-speed-booster/ https://***URL not allowed***/abt-speedmount-ef-speedbooster-red-camera/
  13. Doesn't look like the same Atlas lens you were talking about to me?? This is made by Samyang Optics Co.
  14. I see you took made an effort to take off the part where I said I was kidding. Nice move on your part.
  15. If I was James Jannard I would demand 1000 buck royalty for every damn camera body Kinefinity sells. It is a blatant copy. At least make Something different that you could claim you thought about for over 30 seconds in the design stage.I would be embarrassed to say I even own one. That is the reason it is so cheap. They had no design team cost at all. Anyone that owns one ought to have to go to Confession and tell the priest you are co conspirator of Theft LoL. Some people I tell you what will do anything to save a buck. Even thievery. Well I am kidding, eh I think, yeah I am....OK I am. ?
  16. Good advice on the color card or even a color checker. That is what goes wonky on pretty much all of them is color shifts at the extreme. I think even the cheap ones work half well at only say 3 to 4 stops. At 6 stops or more is hard to do on the ones without hard stops particularly, let alone the cheap ones with no stops. There is really no good cheap, small solution, especially on really wide angle lenses. Even the 4" x4" ones the holders get in the way, or the cheaper Matte Boxes are no better. Pretty good test here on single ND filters. Really the best way to go if you are not Run n Gunning a lot. https://improvephotography.com/40253/nd-filters-30-filters-reviewed-compared/
  17. Get your credit card out. You can buy them that cheap quite often on ebay anymore. Past closed auctions last few months. Now with the DPAF in them they go for 1500 bucks or more. Not sure if Canon is still changing out the sensor for 500 bucks yet, but I was going to buy one cheap without it and save up the money and send it in later. Not as big as a hit money wise at one time. They do have a Push AF button on the front of the body so it is not like you have no AF in one. Pretty much what I used on my Panny AF100A a lot of times. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=Canon+C100&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_udlo=&_sop=15&_sadis=15&_udhi=&_ex_kw=&_samihi=&_samilow=&_stpos=45056&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_in_kw=1&_dmd=1&_odkw=Canon+C100&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_ipg=200
  18. Glenn for the look you like output wise on most of your work I really think the original C100 with the DPAF upgrade in it would be a Perfect fit for you with one heck of a lot less work involved. And I agree I like the C100 over the C100 mk II output. Sort of why we both like the original Sony A7s better. More grit, grunge to them. And with the Canon Color science you like and the auto 4K to 1080p down sample in camera, man shoot it and put it in the can as they say. Shoot and Scoot.
  19. Yeah but that is at the extremes at both ends. I don't want to have a Epileptic Seizure watching someones super quick edits, or fall asleep with the lack of skill to edit at all. ? But I guess if we all did it sort of the same it would be boring as heck. I can always turn off the monitor LoL.
  20. I don't think I would have liked it as well if it had been much sharper. Looked Filmic to me. Now if that was a animal documentary I would have wanted it sharper. You should have bought it and flipped it on ebay! Completed listing for ebay in the last couple of months. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Canon+C500&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=45056&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50
  21. Nobody has used the word SLRs in 15 years. ? You have to be 100 years old LoL. And when I think of a bridge camera it has a Zoom on it. If not it is a fixed lens camera. And that does not harken any thought of a bridge camera to me.
  22. And Every one of the examples on Wiki show a camera with a zoom lens that has a huge range! You conveniently only read the first paragraph. Nobody on here relates a bridge camera to something that used film, Nobody. Hell you must be 30 years older than I am to think that LoL. ?
  23. Well I can agree that if it is 11 1/2 or 13.5 both the GH5 and the GH5s are crazy good. There is not a lot they Can't do. But I think the GH5s is a bit too expensive. I really believe BMD is probably one of the few company's that don't lie about DR stats in their cameras. And when could you, other than in China. buy one of their cameras? Hell you can't hardly buy one now! I don't care if they have been in business for 50 years, if you can't get a camera it doesn't exist in my book LoL. It was like saying Red was in business for years and years. Yeah they were, promising to get it out for like 5 years or more before ONE even shipped. There is a pun in that last sentence. I went through that crap first hand with James Jannard, who by the way is a really nice guy. He was, at the time, WAY too optimistic on his shipping date timeline. But he had a dream and changed the industry forever. Kinefinity ought to kiss Jannard's butt every time they sell one of their copy cat bodies.
  24. Lucky for me I have the College down the street to shoot and there is a state park with a good sized lake in it only about 4 miles away. There are always sailboats going in and out on it, I find those interesting to manual focus on as they can be pretty erratic, and bouncy in rougher weather. I rarely do any edits or deletes in camera. I find just about any footage can be used down the road for B Roll stuff.
  25. I know it is not a camera monitor, but this is damn interesting for a laptop monitor! https://www.provideocoalition.com/duo-a-portable-take-anywhere-second-screen-for-your-laptop/
