  1. I have been in the poor house. Way above my pay grade. I would have to sell all I got to even buy it. I have never read much about the A7 mk III. My bad. But the A7 mk III " in S-LOG 2, the minimum ISO is 800 which is pretty good but in Hybrid LOG Gamma you can go all the way down to ISO 125! Compare that to the original A7S which was ISO 3200 minimum." Andrew's words. So @froess Needs to buy a A7 mk III. Me I guess, I Have to keep my old shitty A7s. ?
  2. I completely agree. It is a much better lens than you think if you get a good copy of it. Mine seems to be great. No complaints. Now my Sony FE 16-35mm f4 is not the best one out there, but it is not bad by any means. Could and can be better.
  3. It's a 43" Monitor!! Only one I can find?? Link please.
  4. If you do Weddings you will have backups for the backups LoL. No second takes on those gigs. That is why a Pro charges so much for a great wedding. ?
  5. Well Sony A7 series cameras really do have a base of ISO 400. But to get good results in Slog they have to push the thing up a couple of stops. And in reality you need to push it up even more when shooting a stop or two more yet. I use a 3 stop push at times on my A7s. I don't ever see Slog at 400 ISO with current tech. But you might be right with a new Sensor design. Lets hope. Even 800 ISO would be a blessing.

    GH5 Cages

Yeah it helps to look Professional. Top one was one of my rigs with the Panasonic AF100A. I live in small College town and when I would take it up to the main streets I had 50 offers of people wanting in my Movie LoL. Bottom one is There is a Sony A7s in there someplace!

    GH5 Cages

Normally I am not a big fan of cages for small cameras anyways. Big Cine cameras, well yeah, the bigger the better. But on a small camera like the GH5s if I buy a cage it is going to fit like a glove or I don't want it. I have some SmallRig stuff myself and I think it is all a bit overpriced for their ultimate quality. It is good but not great. But that expandable one with the wooden handles looks like it might be very hard to beat for the money. I may get one myself. I say go for it. If it is half decent quality, and it looks like it is, I can see it working for a lot of different cameras down the line. Here is a Link to the USA Amazon, in the 4 Star comments there is a picture of a GH5 on the cage among others. That 4.8 is a damn good rating for Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B076P89BQ7/ref=acr_dpx_hist_5?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=five_star&showViewpoints=0
  8. Keep your Day Job is all I have to say LoL. ?
  9. The quality of it is not something I would use very often. Pretty bad overall. But better than nothing I guess.
  10. Yeah pretty hard to ask actors to remember 5 minutes of Dialog!
  11. Once I read the Average temperature of 106.8 °F (41.6 °C) in July forget that LoL. Oh, but it is a dry heat. So is the Shara Desert! Average January temperatures are a maximum of 69.0 °F (20.6 °C) and a minimum of 43.4 °F (6.3 °C). Average July temperatures are a maximum of 106.8 °F (41.6 °C) and a minimum of 74.9 °F (23.8 °C). There are an average of 172.6 days with highs of 90 °F (32 °C) or higher and an average of only 2.6 days with lows of 32 °F (0 °C) or lower. The record high temperature was 122 °F (50 °C) on June 25, 1990. The record low temperature was 20 °F (−7 °C) on January 5, 1971. Average annual precipitation is 6.13 inches (156 mm) and there are an average of 24 days with measurable precipitation. The wettest year was 1983 with 18.73 inches (476 mm) and the driest year was 1953 with 1.35 inches (34 mm). The most rainfall in one month was 8.78 inches (223 mm) in January 1993. The most rainfall in 24 hours was 2.46 inches (62 mm) on March 2, 1983. Although snow rarely falls in the lowlands, 6.5 inches fell in December 1967.[13]
  12. The original Arri Alexa did not do Raw other than to an external recorder. And at the time of introduction Arri claimed the following. As you can see they were Only claiming 14 stops. You have to figure the Alexa is "Only" outputting Arri RAW 2.8K in 12 bit. So it is not going to be super high. Long story short a lot of cameras really don't put out as much DR as you would think. But I want to correct my above statement about the DR of the Canon 3D mk III. I said 9.5, I meant 10.5 maybe 11. ALEXA Classic EV Features BEST OVERALL IMAGE QUALITY Film-like, organic look High Dynamic Range 14+ stops exposure latitude over the entire EI range as measured with the ARRI Dynamic Range Test Chart future proof for High Dynamic Range (HDR) displays 16 bit in-camera processing But there is this article that was interesting at the time. https://nofilmschool.com/2014/07/sony-a7s-dynamic-range-arri-alexa-amira And this older one. https://nofilmschool.com/2013/03/blackmagic-cinema-camera-red-epic-arri-alexa-raw-test-part-3-overexposure
  13. Yeah but there is probably a lot of Permits, Insurance, hidden fees, Portalets, food vendors on and on that cost a lot more money than you think. Here in America everyone is Sue crazy, so big time insurance is a must.
  14. I doubt these lenses will have the build quality to survive Rental Houses abuse. There will be a reason they are cheaper than the others. So I doubt yo will be able to rent them anytime soon.
  15. Well DoF is one of the best advantages, the 3D look. And yeah they have more DR. And until lately they were all CCD sensors. They had a Lot better colors also but sucked at higher ISO's.

  17. You know I am surprised Canon never has made a MF camera. They still sort of are the Ultimate camera you can buy, especially for Photos.
  18. Those Red cameras that have high DR also have Huge sensors in them. 40.96 mm x 21.60 mm. Any camera that has a larger senor and is 6K, 8K shooting Raw is going to be one hell of a lot better with DR. Why do you think top Fashion, Landscape people use Medium Formats cameras. Because they want more DR than you are going to get from a FF sensor. It is simple Physics. When you do the same Xyla chart images test with a M4/3 senor they suck, just like they should compared to a senor that is 40.96 mm x 21.60 mm that has a 16bit output, and uses a heck of a lot better Codec than a a GH4 is using.. And the Panavision Millenium DXL2 uses RED's Monstro 8K VistaVision sensor, giving it 16-bit, 8,192 x 4,320 RAW output with a claimed 16 stops of dynamic range. So who knows what is what, but I ca guarantee you it is a lot more stops than the average Joe Blow has in the camera they can afford. Personally I think all this talk about the GH5, Canon 5D mk IV, Sony A7... having 12, 13 stops is horse shit also. It probably is in reality more like 10.5 stops. And the big boys are at 16 stops. If BM is Only claiming 13 stops for the 4K BMPCC, the GH5s sure as hell is not 14.5 stops when it doesn't even shoot Raw video. Raw usually adds 1 1/2 stops. So the GH5s is probably 10.5 like I have said. The Canon 5D mk III is more like 9.5 stops in reality. Oh then you output it all in Rec 709 and you get a lovely 7 stops.
  19. Maybe the damn thing has AF if they are using that lens other than push to focus. Fingers crossed. ?
  20. You need to get a Late 2013 or newer or go home as the say.
  21. Why would they even bother selling the damn thing if the 4K only lasts 5 minutes or less?
  22. Most every one I have seen had a Olympus lens on it. This one has a Panasonic lens on it. Can't tell which one though.
  23. You can Tweak them till the cow's come home. That can be good and bad LoL. There is a Ton of things on each one you can change, maybe too many if you get crazy. I like to play around with the Knee, and Black Gamma a lot. I did that often when I was a ENG cameraman. It helped when days were dark, overcast, or bright as heck. It can really change up stuff from the norm. You can always reset the camera and they go back to factory. I have 4 of the 7 in my A7s tweaked, some a lot. I But yeah on paper you could make PP1 the same as say PP7 if you wanted to by changing a lot of things in it. I find they get a little more hardcore as you go down. The last one will be Slog 2 and the first one will be just a basic take a video and go thingy. A good overall balance one. They get a bit more intense as you go down. http://helpguide.sony.net/di/pp/v1/en/contents/TP0000909110.html
  24. Well since it is using the same Sony sensor as the GH5s I am not surprised it is in the 12.5 range + or -, but that is pretty darn good for a m4/3 sized sensor compared to the GH4 era of sensors..
