Well they are not giving this thing away, but I guess if you can afford the lenses you can afford this product. Zoom, Focus controllers for the new Fujinon MK zoom lenses. http://www.xdcam-user.com/2018/06/heden-vlc-zoom-and-focus-control/

Interesting product for lens flares. https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/06/14/flarestick-professional-lens-flare-crystals/
  3. Looks like Ken knows where the Saturation dial is on his Photo Editor!! ?
  4. I am not a Hugh Drone fan, but I must admit it shows shots of things we never have really seen or maybe even imagined. But it can be overdone for sure, just like anything.
  5. Your crazy to call that 'Film making". That looks like a drunken sailor shot it on a Barbie Cam LoL.
  6. That footage looks almost too good to be true. I must admit I never heard of that mod, but I was using ENG cameras at the time, so off my Radar. Just goes to prove how good Raw footage really is. Speaking about Raw footage, My son just got a Canon 5D mk III. Has shoot a little with ML on it yesterday. He was impressed to say the least. Have not been down to his house to see it.
  7. Speaking of weight for a Recorder. I saw this article about these smaller V Mount batteries. Seems to solve some of that problem with weight whether using a recorder or just a monitor. Ain't cheap, but what is involving video! Would be nice to just have one battery to worry about. https://***URL not allowed***/making-a-compact-sony-a7s-ii-rig-with-hawk-woods-mini-v-lock-batteries/
  8. People that own a Canon C100 would KILL for 50mbps! the Codec on one is 24Mbps and it looks pretty damn good.
  9. Well there is no doubt that CCD sensors look Way better than Bayer ones do. Until recently all MF cameras used CCD 's in them. But they sucked at high ISO at the time. All the Kodak DSC series Photo cameras had CCD sensors in them. Heck the original Olympus E1 which was just beautiful looking output photo wise, used a CCD sensor.
  10. Looks like it went from 1.5 to 1.7 and has more exotic glass in it, etc.. https://www.wexphotovideo.com/metabones-speed-booster-ultra-nikon-g-to-micro-four-thirds-1591252/
  11. Yeah but if you are using the A7s with a min ISO of 3200 in SLog 2 you need all the extra stops you can get! Yikes. And I am pushing it 3 stops over to boot.
  12. Never mind, answered my own question. ?
  13. If you do the advanced Search thingy it looks like at 900 bucks it is one of the more expensive ones on there. Wait until you have the money. It was not a bargain. But they don't come up every day to buy. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Panasonic+AG-LA7200+Conversion+Anamorphic+Adapter&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=45056&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_fosrp=1
  14. Found this picture of a GH5. Pretty impressive looking rig. Ikan Controllers, Ronin Gimbal..
  15. I will be using it for my Sony A7s, which you Have to have a recorder to do 4K, and the 4K BMPCC when it comes out. Like I said I don't have the money to buy both so I am buying a Recorder. I don't do run and gun so I don't care how much it weighs. Plus I am 71 years old. I don't see like I did, and with only one good eye I Need the best screen I can get. And you are not going to run and gun with the 4K BMPCC anyways with dog shit AF and no IBIS unless you want footage that looks like you are having a seizure!
  16. Atomos Ninji V has 1000 nits. Cost 695 bucks. SmallHD Focus is 800 nits. Cost 495 bucks.. But the Atomos can record 4K 60p. And the newest Atomos recorders can do ProRes Raw. Sure the SmallHD Focus is pretty hard to beat for the weight, build quality. But I can't afford to buy both. So I will probably go for the Ninji V. The Atomos Ninja Flame 7" is 1500 Nits. Cost 795 bucks.
  17. But here may be be a solution to have a cheap damn good EVF for 250 bucks. Apparently this will work on Any 5" display? The price of the Loupe has risen since the review. http://urbanvideo.ca/eye-loupe-solution-atomos-blade-grid-5-0-review https://www.gridaccessories.com/products/grid-5-0-viewfinder/
  18. Atomos recorders have like 1600 Nits, and the SmallHD Focus is like 350 Nits. And you are calling them as a monitor not great? And the SmallHD Focus is as much or more money, and they don't even record. Crazy talk. I know they might not be the most color accurate in the industry, but at least you can sort of see the screen on one.
  19. I shot this with a cheap 21 dollar VND filter at full bore. First try with it but it seems to be pretty good on this video for the money. I used my Sony FE 16-35mm f4 which has a 72mm filter size. I ordered the VND at 82mm. So it covers the wide angle lens with no problem it seems. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZP72D9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Used a Arri CLog LuT in Resolve 15. No coloring, pretty much OOC and LuT applied. Red is a little Wonky though. I have been experimenting with a +3 expose on the A7s in SLog 2 because of this Long ass tutorial video from wolfcrow LoL. It actually makes sense when you see the video a few times!
  20. Has anyone used this App with a IPad? I have the app but haven't tried it yet. Seems like a cheap way to go with a older iPad mini, I have the 2018 iPad Air 9.7" cellular one. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fieldmonitor/id1101913786?platform=ipad&preserveScrollPosition=true&platform=ipad#platform/ipad&platform=ipad
  21. Sounds like you Really do want a Sony A7 mk III. ☺️ I don't know why you don't consider a Speedbooster on the 4K BMPCC. It will be my first purchase after getting the camera. Nearly anyone that was serious with the original BMPCC used a Speedbooster. Problem solved unless you want to use m4/3 lenses. And hell since the 4K BMPCC in essence doesn't have continuous AF why bother? I have a couple m4/3 lenses left but in reality they won't work on the camera other than push AF, which I do a lot anyways. But for most stuff I am going old MF Nikon probably. A TON of great used lenses that you can't really give away will be awesome on it. I am not sure, and I don't think anyone but BM knows how good AF is in this thing. I really don't think it is going to be even close to a GH5 AF. I think it is more of a MF camera, with touch screen focus and that is about it. I am sure you can probably program one of the 3 buttons on top to do push AF. I have never seen, other than pushing on the screen, any real demo of the AF on it. I would love to be proved "uninformed"
  22. This item makes a lot of the Manfrotto 500 series Arca-Swiss usable. Well made also. No need to have a long foot on a smaller camera anymore with it. And the big bonus with it is you get away from that Dumb Ass pull out knob on the side, that you can NEVER get to, that you have to tighten or loosen to put the damn foot on or off!! Why they don't make the shaft on that knob a inch longer is beyond belief. ☹️ https://www.adorama.com/pm501.html
  23. It shows as 4K on my computer on Vimeo. Frame grab is pretty awesome!
