Not to be a smart ass, but it looked more like a Prison Escape video than a "Music" Video. ? I was sort of waiting for it to be over. But I sort of liked the grade. Interesting that it was from a GH5. Doubt I would have guessed, which is a good thing. Really not too bad overall. Nice to see some shooting from new people. Keep it up.

I tend to agree. If it were photos it would be just snap shots. Hey they work, better than nothing. I guess we can ask, was it done intentionally to represent a time when things we could afford were really not so good, but the best we could do then with what we had, or sort of artsy, throwback filming. Or was it just, eh, bad film making? Damn if I know?

You sound like @mercer I love Nikon colors. D750 is a special camera no doubt.

New Window phone rumor.

Looks like a Whip Pan in Slo Mo LoL.

What ever camera it was has about 5 stops of DR.

Either Nuclear Fallout or global warning is going to kills us, or Robots LoL. We have advanced too far too fast for our Peanut brains to keep up with the pace. I think the end is nearer than you think one way or another. Humans are just too damn cruel to last forever. We kill for the fun or money of it. That is a recipe for disaster. Racism alone through history has been, and will be, our undoing.?
-
Yeah but the big trouble is down the road there is not going to be a really big need for humans at all. That is when the shit hits the fan as they say. We, unfortunately, are a threat to this planet, the whole Universe! We, as Spock said, are not logical. We do some stupid ass stuff over and over again. Sort of like Einsteins definition of Insanity. Robots will learn from mistakes, unlike us. We are definitely on the short list down the road one way or the other.

I still think coming out with a new body that is pretty much video based is going to be a damn hard sell staying at 8 bit down the road. And a A7s variant is pretty much that. IronFilm is sort of right, what much more do you need that the new A7 mk III has other than 10 bit, maybe Anamorphic? In a sense they are giving away the A7 mk III.

I think the trouble is we are thinking at a Human level. Once Robots can build Robots as they say, Robots may come up with designs that we are not able to ever imagine on our own. Advancements may be on the magnitude of 100drds of our years in a decade. In 50 years if we don't blow earth up, we may be planning on going to the next Solar System, not just making it to Mars. One big ass breakthrough and we are at Plan D not plan B. It is like CPU's now, they are a thing of the past with GPU's the way they have become. We can thank Nvidia for that not Intel. If you own Intel, AMD stock sell fast as hell.

I think even Sony is going to have to Sabotage the FS5 mk II with the new Sony A7s mk III. They damned near Have to have 10 bit in it. They just can't let Panasonic "show" them up and not respond. I think the FS5 mk II is outdated in this day and age other than the form factor, buttons, and the ND's. There has to be a way to put Variable ND's on a Mirrorless, heck that is what a FS5 is. Other than Full HD 10bit 4:2:2 and the Ability to output up to 4K 60P in Raw using a external recorder, which is a big deal, what other than form factor does a FS5 mk II really have? I know there is a few more goodies but why can't it be put in a Sony A7s mkIII for 1000 bucks less? If Sony did that they could bury Canon for years and years with their Mirrorless.. Gimbals and Drones are the big thing now. Small is in. Look at the Kinefinity, it is small as heck. Only thing I can think about is 4K Raw internal needing probably a C Fast Card in it. Might not fit in a small camera body? But the 4K BMPCC is using a C Fast card slot and it is not too big. But it isn't FF either!

What kind of money did it cost to go to it? That can't be cheap to do.

I don't think Computational Photography and AI are as far away as you think. The next iPhone, what ever it will be called, is less than 3 months away for sale. It has already been designed and it is being manufactured as we speak probably. And I am sure the one after that is already being engineered, maybe even tested in a crude form. Smartphones are on Warp Drive for development. Even that new Red Smartphone is probably pretty scary specs wise internally truth be known. I think we are a lot closer to just mind blowing stuff coming in phones than we think. Now if Canon was making phones they would still be pushing flip phones along with Nokia!

As Old as I am with the water I would have probably thought I Peed myself. Pass.

I AM Left Handed thank you LoL. I use a Manfrotto Monopod a lot also, the one with the trigger handle where you can raise it up or down quickly. They work good enough more times than you think, especially if using Auto Focus..

There is a lot more risk of getting them stuck on the lens and on each other, dust, fingerprints, dropping them etc, on fixed ND's out in the field compared to variable ND's. Are Fixed better, sure on average they are. but you might need 5 stops and you have a 3, 6, 9 Fixed. Not deal breaking but just another hassle. If you are not using big Logs like SLog 3, at super high ISO's even the cheap ones work up to say 6 or less pretty well. I it is only on average when you have to push them to 9, 10 that they sort of suck compared to fixed.

They are a good way to get Sony cameras to look like a Canon face colors wise. ?

If you Don't expose to the right you Will have noise in a Digital camera. You can bring things down in post, but you sure as hell can't bring it up! Use ETTR! You can't get back what you never had. And you are loosing DR if you don't ETTR. And the older Canon's have crap DR even in Raw. Even if you gain 1/2 a stop of DR that is Huge on a Canon.

I don't think there is such a thing as a True Fluid Head under nearly 500 Dollars new. But my 502 does have counterbalance and seems to be the best bang for the buck I have found in my opinion. They can be had for 150 Bucks even new.

Liliput A5, or any other cheap 5" or smaller competitors?

You sure your not Scottish? A really good monitor lasts for Years, and Years. At your age, come on LoL. At my age, I don't even buy Green Bananas! -
Are you going to be selling them over the pond as they say? I am interested in the Sony one if you get it working.

Yeah like I said I just got my Apple X, 256gb back from my son. So I need to put it to work as they say. I am pretty impressed with it so far just phone wise. Better than my last iPhone 6s Plus, 256gb. My Samsung Note 8 I had was just too damn big. My Last Note. I have had 3 of them, no more. Just too damn big and heavy for a pants camera. But for watching movies hard to beat. I shot this today on the Apple X Photo mode, Not a great one, but not something you don't see very often. Right place, right time. In Hamilton, Ohio. I am pretty amazed that I got zero on my first try to be Honest.

Yeah that I what I do on my Manfrotto 502. I don't know what camera you use but the 502 works great with my Sony A7s, Sony FE 16-35mm f4 and my Sony FE 28-70mm. Balances well. I would get a bigger tripod head than a smaller one. You are not balancing anything big on a small one, but you can probably work it the other way more than not. This is the one I use. https://www.ebay.com/i/252498632685?chn=ps
