Pretty interesting Canon, Nikon FF mirrorless article. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/nikon-canon-ever-catch-sony-163000139.html

Yeah, and at Supreme Prices!

I think the pocket camera would be a terrible choice for Weddings, and maybe even Corporate. It has no continuous AF, just a button push focus which is ok for say a short tripod shot, which is common on some Cine cameras, and no IBIS, but you could use a Gimbal. I would imagine in reality the battery life would not be long enough for the 2 things I mentioned above either. BM says an hour, but I won't hold me breath on that really happening, especially in 4K. The new BM Pocket is going to be more of a Cine camera than what a normal video camera is. For Weddings, and even Corporate you Have to nail AF and I will be honest the Canon DPAF is hard to beat in that those situations. Although it looks like Panny might have helped the GH5, GH5s along a lot with AF with this latest Firmware update?? Is it DPAF good, I doubt it, and even the new Sony A7 mk III is damn good at AF and the color science is good on it also.. The GH5s would be nice also but no IBIS on it either. But the color science on it is way better than the GH5, at least to me. But with your budget just the notebook and the GH5s blows all your money. You need to spend probably more on lenses than the camera to be honest to do what you want. I guess if you spend a grand or less on the notebook it could happen. But that is not counting tripods, mikes, lighting on and on. But you may have some of that already. But to make money on the shoots you are talking about all that stuff has to be DAMN good tripods and damn good everything, not stuff you have found at a yard sale LoL. It has to be Pro level stuff or near to it. No cheap Amazon Favorite for say a Tripod, Ergo it has to be expensive stuff new or used. I don't like telling someone to buy a Canon or a Sony, or a Panny, on and on. That is a buyers choice for either a FF, m4/3, APSC desire. There is too many cameras out now to say. I will say this, the original Canon C100 with the DPAF would be on my short list for what you want to do. It has a beautiful output and everything you need other than 4K. But it does down sample automatically From 4K to 1080p. Hard to beat Canon color science and DPAF. Really hard. But for weddings you are not going to be able to run n Gun with it. You would have to have say a 5D mk III or 80D to go with it. But you Can hand hold a C100 some times. They are really not as big as people make them out to be. I just woke up a bit ago, so I am sure there are things my fuzzy mind is missing cameras, suggestions wise.

I really don't think it is a grade at all. I think it is just a SLog 2, CLog, etc. OOC to be honest. Probably the reason you can't get a grade something like it. Nothing written in stone you even Have to grade a in camera Log. It might be modified a bit but maybe not..

Very true, but most people that bought a Red 1 had money to buy decent lighting gear, or already had it. I doubt hardly anyone uses high dollar lights with a BMPCC on average. But I see your point. Ir was, and still is a great camera for peanuts. Not counting a great learning to grade and edit with. I think this new 4K one is just going to be a dream come true for peanuts also. With a Speedbooster on that thing it will be a poor mans Cine Camera.

Sensor stacks also help manage distortion, focusing in the corners with lenses. m4/3 sensors have a Hell of a thick stack compared to FF. https://petapixel.com/2014/06/10/sensor-stack-thickness-matter/ https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2015/01/a-thinner-sensor-stack/

Yeah that will do it. Thanks, looks damn good.

Lens looks great. But I keep seeing this greenish orange on people's necks in your last few videos?? Seems like their face is good, but kink of distracting neck wise

The examples showed in the link I supplied look great to me. Maybe Tony does suck at doing it.

This looks kind of easy to do, well easier LoL. http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/Apodization-Filter.html

Like I said I liked him. If he went off on a rant I just didn't read it. He didn't seem to mix cameras, and medication, and Aliens coming together LoL. And from most recent hidden UFO leaks I guess he may be right! He does know a hell of a lot of cine stuff sorely needed on here. We are getting to a point where you can actually afford to buy damn good 1080p, 4K Cine cameras used or even new. And they are a different beast compared to what most of us have ever used. So he and others like JB, Zak etc. are needed for input on topics we lack real knowledge in. Yeah bring him back if he wants to.

Wow lens envy on that Vogitlander 35mm F1.2! ?
-
Yeah, he heard little voices in his head we don't LoL. I liked him. But he did ramble on about some strange shit. Smart guy though.

Both the A6300, and A6500 have pretty bad 1080p. But the A6500 has crazy good 4K. I would buy a Sony A7s over all mentioned for what your budget is. And you have lenses for it already. You don't want a GH4 in this day and age. Not so hot in low light. Bu you can do worse. People seemed to be able to make them work and still do LoL. A BMPCC was even worse Low light wise and they work. What about a Canon 5D mk III and use ML at times? Good way to learn how to grade and edit. Lots of love on here for it and a 80D.

Makes sense. Thanks. That almost looks too small to me. But I have big fat fingers.
-
No way the camera on the left is represented in the correct size. Both should be about the same height just like the side by side picture above..
-
Well this video has both next to each other. Overall with the handle on both are close to the same but when you remove the handle, which you still have a mike port on the body and push down the viewfinder it really isn't much bigger than a FF Canon 1DX DSLR. With the hand grip off on that picture it would be even smaller than the 1DX. And on that picture it doesn't even have the handle taken off. They can get pretty amazingly small if you want to put them on a Gimbal. That bottom picture shows how crazy small they can get.

Well I am a tripod guy more than not, and a old ex ENG guy to boot as you know. So size is not really a concern to me. But Run n Gun seems to be the thing now so I can see the need for IBIS and small size. But I think that gets old quick just like to me a lot of these Drone videos. They are interesting, but disorientating in a sense. I just don't think our brains work well to see our bodies in motion a lot of the time. That is why someone invented a chair to sit in LoL. If Canon made a XC20 with what you ask for it would cost 4000 bucks or more. The C100 mkII is smaller as is the C200 body wise than that original C100 mk I shown. They really are not that big stripped down. Now a C700, that thing is a Honker! Stick a Cine PL lens on it, Christ! But a Arri Alexa is nearly as big, not as long in reality also. A friend of mine had one of these Mitchell 35mm film cameras and it was scary big. So it can always be worse. The tripod and head must have weighed over 40 pounds alone. I was at a Cincinnati Reds Baseball game a few weeks ago. Those network stationary TV cameras are a honker also. The one I was near has a 75X Fujinon lens on it.
-
Well the A7 mk III hasn't been out long enough to look at all the bugs it might have. So it Might really overheat, I don't know. What they did on the A7r mk II was just raise the level when the warning showed up. Seemed to work LoL. So it might be a real problem or they set the limit too low on the A7 mk III. I guess we will find out. Would be a shame if true, I find that body nearly impossible to pass up for the money they want for it. Now on the A6300, A6500 I think it is because the bodies are crazy small. I just don't see how they can ever overcome that.
-
Well since it is probably using the same sensor as the Sony A7r mk III, whatever that is is probably a little less on the Nikon D850. Probably around 12.0 stops video wise which is damn good. They are probably claiming more but it really isn't. Nikon's FLog is more like Sony Cine 4 than like SLog 2 or SLog 3. And even SLog 3 on a A7r mk III isn't really doing in reality more than 13 stops I think. You have to be doing 12 bit Raw to get any higher than that. Sony might claim 15 stops but that is bullshit. A Red in 14 bit Raw is lucky to pull that much. That is Arri territory. His results for photo always seem low but at least they are consistent, and truth be told maybe really right! http://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Leica M10,Nikon D850

Now none of the A7 series cameras over heat anymore. You can buy a original A7 or a A7s for less than 1000 bucks all day. Cheaper than a A6500, even a A6300 at times. And the 1080p is killer in the A7s. And it sucks in the A6300, A6500. But 4k is Killer in the A6500. Plus you are talking FF here also, with the ability to use the crop thingy.

Your the man as usual. Great stuff! That daylight turquoise grade is killer looking.

My Hero Session 5 is just crazy good for how cheap they are. They are a no brainer for the money.
