Yeah you are probably right. There cameras have all been pretty bad in low light other than this one that ought to be pretty damn good. Yeah all the cameras you listed are a hell of a lot better ISO wise, and God, then there is Sony crazy high ISO stuff. They are going to have to come up with nearly all new sensors for all their cameras to stay in the camera business. It won't be easy.

Well it was one of my favorites until throwing it in the trunk of the car a lot it sort of , eh made it sort of ehh Classic looking, used and abused, but still takes great, well good pictures.

That dongle is not free, it cost money to make it, copy Resolve to it, ship it to you LoL.

This thing has a Hell of a lot of stuff for an amazing price of really just $999.00. You can almost bet by the time this thing comes out you will be able to Just buy the body without the Dongle. I can't see BM Forcing people to Re Buy a product they may already have. I know you Could re sell it but that is sort of a crazy way to market it. Now maybe if you can provide a serial # for the full blown Resolve you can only pay 999 bucks, if not you have to pay 1299 bucks?

Well I am not super qualified to answer your question but there will be in a sense No more resolution in Raw. It might look that way because it will be a bit sharper. It in essence is what the camera captured without Any processing at all. So there will be less jaggies because of less NR, processing, a LuT baked in etc., etc. It will be a pure signal that will have more Info, , more colors because it will be 12 bit, to be able to manipulate in post. It as they say, will be a thicker frame. Virgin footage is a word that comes to mind. So just a cleaner output to edit with pretty much anyway you want to do it. It will make better looking footage If you can edit well. Yeah Bob Canigila is the Director of Sales Operations in America. It is probably their biggest market. You would Think he knows the specs. But this does seems like a sort of rushed announcement, so I am sure some facts accidentally were misrepresented. It would be Nice if it was that low @ 400 ISO This article I have not seen has the Blackmagic Cinema Camera Press Release in it. It does not state the what the dual ISO's are in it though, just that it does have dual ISO's. In reply to @ ananim I have never seen that video. Pretty nice. But it does show why they picked him to do this video and not me or a lot of others like me on here. There we some damn complex things done in this video, and a lot of effects, not counting some pretty dam great editing, coloring skills. And I doubt it was a one man band thing either. But impressive I will admit. But it is great of him to explain how they did this video, admit their mistakes, and how they corrected some of them. Just shows even someone that is skilled as hell if you look close enough is not perfect by any means. Video is some hard stuff to do even filming it let alone Post Production. Now you add Audio to it well hell, tough challenge. As to IBIS, I own Gimbal's, a knockoff Glidecam. You don't Have to have IBIS to do this but it would help no doubt. No Canon DSLR camera has IBIS, and people seem to take picture, videos with them. And lot of people have made videos 3 or 4 years ago before good IBIS has come out. TV ENG people get a shot without IBIS. I will say it is a nice thing to have if you walk around a lot. I don't on average. I just don't hardly ever. Most Smartphone don't do OIS in 4k, so you need a gimbal for them, which you do walk around using them a lot more than a true video camera.. I mean I will admit it is not going away. It is a good thing used correctly in limited circumstances. Now if you are running around filming your kids have at it. It just doesn't mean it is the best to use for the satiation all the time. I think, from a lot of footage I have seen on YouTube IBIS is overused to hell and back with varying results. I think people are using it a lot of times when a Monopod or a Tripod would have been a Lot better option. But on average we are not making a movie to be submitted to the Oscar Nominations Committee.

I would imagine the screen on my Samartphone is just as good as your LG TV. I would guess it is a lot better. A Lot more PPI. TV's look good from 20 feet back, But your nose up to them and they look like hammered dog shit!

I think you have it ass backwards. It vents from the top from what I read and heard. Hot air rises. It would be pretty inefficient to do it the other way.

The Nikon D810 has a Plastic, carbon chassis and the D500 has it also along with the front face being a Plastic, Carbon combo. Hell Canon has used glass filled poly-carbonate bodies for years. It isn't going to break or flex.. It is stronger, tougher, lighter than Titanium. I have had a lot of Canon bodies and I never had one crack, or hell even have scratches for that matter, It is some damn tough stuff. Titanium doesn't absorb any real force like plastic carbon can. Yes I think it is doomed. I said in a Post a few days ago saying the same thing. When the Baby Boomers die I I think memories of real Film movies will die also, and there won't be any movies shot on film, and the only place you Might be able to see a film movie will be on TCM , hell even it may be gone when Ted Turner dies, and even those have been Digitally enhanced for preservation reasons.. 25 years from now you will have to go to the Library of Congress to actually look at a film movie LoL. And Resolve is for Pros. It is a lot more Pro now than FCPX. It is a damn powerful program. It basically was started as a high end Colorist program. One of the best. BM keeps buying out top compny's like Fairlight etc, and now it has evolved to a one stop solution. I can't say it is the Best yet, but I bet in a few years it will be. Blackmagic is trying to be the top dog out there, and I think they might do it in not too many more years. They get a few more top end cameras out, and make a FF Mirrorless that can Kill when it comes to a Cine look and they could pull it off, and for not a lot of money for their products, just like the 4k BMPCC is now. They seem to have the Color Science, and not hold back on anything, and actually listen to the people that shoot, and not try to kill you on the price, and a damn nice Free editor. A pretty winning way to go at it. They are not going to put Canon out of business, but they will make them look like a pretty out of touch company.

You are probably right. I agree with that. But I have a Note 8 Samsung phone that has a 4k or better screen and can see HDR content. I can tell you a Lot of the GH5 HDR stuff ain't exactly laid back stuff. But the trouble is most people, well a lot do it in 4k. And I think 4k is too digital looking to be honest. It is too good. Now for certain types of shoots, on average most shoots, I think it works. And the GH5 is damn good at doing it. Documentary, interviews, vacations, stuff with the family is sharp it is the hot setup. And a whole lot more. If I was doing any of that I would grab the GH5 over this new 4k BMPCC. That new camera is not what it is made for. But this thread is about Cine cameras and to me Cine cameras are used to get a more subdued look, a softer diffused look. Now maybe for a Action movie they are doing the over the top HDR, crank up the saturation to 12 look to it. But if they are going for a Film look, an Arri look is the best at it. And I think that is one of the reasons Arri did not really want to go to true 4k sensor. They, in a sense, are too good. I like my A7s in 1080p better than I do the GH5 1080p. It has a more grungy filmic look to it. It is the old Horses for Courses thing. But calling the GH5 a Cine camera, not in my book it is. Now is it a good, well even a great camera for most stuff, sure it is.

I have shown this on here I took before. It is SDR but the same concept. Some people Like it, I think it is Digital looking, but I think it is Way over the top. So I don't like it. Now there is this Cartoon, I will call it an animation, which it is in HDR and it is pretty jaw dropping good. One of my Favorites. But it is a Cartoon with Cartoon colors over the top.
